A TALE OF TWO SLAYERS (2/?)

Sunnydale
March 2000

"Well I'm impressed," Jakobie Cross said looking around the moonlit
graveyard, which surprisingly hadn't changed much in three hundred
years.
It was a dark, gloomy place that reminded her of a setting for one of
those
old horror movies Ingo liked to watch. Why he insisted on wasting his
time
watching the ancient things was still beyond her understanding. She had

always found the 'monsters' in those archaic movies to be rather comedic
in
nature.

"No you're not," came an amused response from the redhead at her side.
"You're bored stiff, and we all know it."

"True, but I'd thought I'd at least pretend to be interested," the
blonde
replied with a smirk giving her lover a knowing look that clearly said
'can
we leave now??'

"At least she's honest," Ostrom commented absently, looking around the
cemetery noting the differences between the graveyard of the year 2000
and
the one in 2318, his enhanced eyesight picking out the changes with ease
in
the low light. Like Jake he wasn't overly impressed with this new time
period, although he could tell the immediate difference between the
Sunnydale with an open hellmouth and the Sunnydale with a closed one.
For
one thing the town smelled a lot better in the future, of course that
really
didn't have anything to do with the hellmouth, air pollution was just
really
low in the future.

"Andrea, I suggest we find a safe place to set up our headquarters and
look
around town." Anton said slipping into his self-appointed role of
keeping
everyone's minds on the task at hand. Unlike his comrades he know a lot

more about Sunnydale's history then what was found in the history books.

Unlike the others, he had excess to several of the old Watcher diaries.
Diaries that contained information that was not available to the general

populous, hell most of it Slayer never even saw.

"Agreed," Andrea replied, with a tired sigh. That little voice all
Slayers
seemed to have already telling her things were going to get a lot worse
before all was said and done. And like countless Slayers before her,
she
was really developing a deep hatred for that little voice. It always
got
her into trouble, or in the very least, terribly bruised and usually
meant
she was going to ruin some article of clothing beyond all repair.

A couple of hours later
The Bronze

The four time travelers entered the club feeling like they had all ready

returned home. "Well, now we know where Angel got his decorator sense,"

Jake commented looking around with interest.

"Who knew the old vamp was so nostalgic?" Ostrom replied with awe,
feeling
comfortable in the town for the first time. This was a place he knew
well,
being one of the regulars back home at Angel's beloved nightclub on
Mars.
If Angel had kept true to the floor plan, Ostrom knew that this was a
place
he could defend with ease, having spent many a night in the old Master
Vampire's company talking shop among other things. Angel was one of
the
few vampires that the white-haired werewolf actually liked, although he
would never admit to having friendly thoughts about one of the
bloodsuckers
even if he highly respected them.

"Remind me to compliment him on his taste the next time I see him."
Jake
stated getting a wicked glint in her eyes. She had always found the
souled
vampire to be an interesting being, even if he tended to get broody at
times, and she still didn't believe Anton's insistence that he had
lightened
up over the centuries.

"Let's find a seat." Andrea suggested noting the glazed look Anton was
getting in his eyes once again. He had been like a kid in a candy
store,
since they first stepped through the portal, barely containing his
enthusiasm at actually being able to walk among people that had lived
long
before he was ever born. She was sure that he was all ready making
plans to
'meet' the legendary Rupert Giles, a man Anton had always admired as
both a
Watcher and mentor. She could see the wheels turning in her quiet
friend's
mind as he plotted ways of 'accidentally ' running into his idol while
they
were here. 'Oh Angel you are going to be in for it when we get home.'
She
thought with a smirk, picturing the trapped look she just knew the
vampire
was going to have by the time Anton got a hold of him. When is came to
history, Anton tended to have a one-track mind. Maybe she would have Os

record it for her, they could show it to Spike one night while they were

working on getting thrown out of 'Spike's Place'.

Finding a nice shadowy corner to sit, and watch the activity on the
dance
floor, the little group tries to blend in as much as possible. Each
realizing that while they dark gray uniforms made it easy for blending
into
shadows while on duty, it was damn near impossible for blending in with
a
civilian population of any time period.

"Ah, Os." Andrea said suddenly her glass of some odd beverage frozen in

midair as she stared intently at something behind the young werewolf.
"Look
over your left shoulder and tell me what you see."

"Huh?" Came the reply as he nevertheless did as he was asked. "Oh boy.

We're screwed." He grunted as he watched a new group of people making
their
way through the crowed club. A group that was made up of people that
looked
exactly like his friends.

"Oh dear." Anton said, also watching the crowd, his jaw hanging open in

shock, before a wide grin began to form itself across his face.

"Are those guys?" Jake questioned noting the rather goofy grin Anton
now
had plastered across his face.

"The current Slayer and her team." Andrea finished slowly putting down
her
now forgotten glass. Her mind already working out a way of getting them
all
out of there without drawing attention to themselves.

End Part Two.
