The figure watched from the shadowy remains of the Sunnydale Library.
Watching as the Slayer and the little red haired girl and their friend dealt
with the Hellish incursion.
Echos of the past and future swirled and misted about. Somehow this place
was the key to everything. A link to the roads not taken. To infinite
improbabilities. To Her.
The Powers That Be had conspired to prevent interference before and were
now powerless to do more than watch. This time things would be different.
Having finished communing with ghosts, the figure melted back into the
shadows. The echo of parting words the only sign that anyone had been there.
