Re: Somewhat O.T. Need help with latin translation...

hey there,
um, been a while since i took latin so not sure how much help i'll be... umm.. first of all do
you mean word order? or just grammar.. like conjugation and declension? cause word order
doesn't count almost at all.. unless asking a question.... I'm going to check some stuff out for
ya.. like i said, not sure i'll be too much help... but if no one else on the list can help i'd
be glad to give some suggestion... one thing i'm pretty sure though:

"Redeo." (Come back)

use revenio instead of redeo. Redeo means GO back not COME back. it would be revenio, revenire,
reveni, reventum (I THINK.... ) um, but you should be able to say revenis as in (you) come back.
or revenitis as in (you all) come back.

"Tu tuam mihi... tu usquequaque animus," she said,
kissing Buffy gently before stepping back. (You are
mine... you always will *be*)

try 'es mei' for 'you are mine'... again i'm not positive, i could be oversimplifying.... but es
is singular, you are and mei means of me.. like 'mine'
animus means soul or spirit....not sure you'd want that in there.. but interpreting *be* maybe in
a different way?
try using eris for 'you will be' or eritis for plural. um as far as i know since usque is an
adverb you'd conjugate it with the 'to be' verb but it might be irregular so i'm not gonna give
you a definite on that one.. sorry.

"Somnus Giles," she whispered. (Sleep Giles)

the easiest here i can see is to say more literally.. you go to sleep.... 'is somno' is means
you go in the indicative and somno means to/for sleep. again... don't know how much help this
is.... i know that you'd use 'i' for go as a command.. but sure if that has to be conjugated
further. (eo... to go.. is an irregular verb and my worst struggle...)

You don't remember this
morning, commoneo. (Remember)

not sure if there is a direct translation to remember.. latin's cute like that. i do know that
commemoro means remind, or relate. might want to use commemoras... again not sure of the ending.
but it might point you in a better direction.....

i will look into the rest a little bit more later. I'm also on speaking terms with an instructor
of latin so i'll ask her too... hope this helped a bit...

Hello...

As you can see by the subject line, I need help with some latin
translation.

There are some phrases I have in two stories that I translated into
latin with the use of an on-line translator.

One small problem with it really.

Grammatically, it's incorrect.

The latin translations are first, followed by the actual english
phrases/words I tried to translate.

If anyone can help out...

"Ampleuxus Willow," she whispered. (Love Willow)

"Faveo haud timeo," Willow's body whispered. (Don't
be afraid)

"Faveo haud adversor..." (Don't fight it)

"Tu tuam mihi... tu usquequaque animus," she said,
kissing Buffy gently before stepping back. (You are
mine... you always will *be*)

"Etiam, redono," Buffy heard in her fevered mind.
(Yes... give up)

"Sedo pessum. Tu securus cum mihi. Tu animus recordor
solum quemadmodum stare tu ad," Willow's body said.
(Calm down. You are safe with me. You will remember
only what I wish you to)

"Somnus Giles," she whispered. (Sleep Giles)

You don't remember this
morning, commoneo. (Remember)

"Redeo." (Come back)

That's all from the second part of a story I wrote. If anyone could
help out, perhaps I could send the latin sections I used in the first
part.
