Soul Cage

Willow had circled the Brozen with no luck. As she was turning around she
bumped for the second time that day into Cordilla Chase dropping her stake.
Cordillia picking it up held the stake out to Willow. "You really like
carrying these things around."
"Ah yeah could we talk about it later.' Willow was already moving away from
the cheerleader when she stopped and turned back around. "Cordillia, do you
know Xander Harris?"
A flash of jealousy ran over the girl before she answered. "Yes why?'
"Have you seen him walk by in the last 5 minutes."
"Again Why?"
"Please I have to find him it's important."
"How important?" The Green-eyed monster ruling Cordilia's answer.
"A matter of life and death, please do you know were he is?"
"Your serious?" Cordillia realized.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Cordillia had lead Willow into the cemetery. Willow had found their trial
following it to the tomb.
Willow made it inside the tomb just in time to kick one of the vampires
across the floor and off of Xander.
Cordillia stopped after seeing Jesse holding the lifeless body of Buffy then
ran over by herside.
Willow staked the first vampire quickly. The second was a lot tougher. She
put up a good fight. But Willow managed to corner her and was just about to
push the stake through her heart when she was picked up and thrown across
the tomb.
"Is the little girl giving you problems Darla?"
"She is tougher then she looks, Luke."
"Go on ahead, I'll take care of the little girl and bring the offerings to
the master."
"Fine, but I'm taking an after diner snack home for later." Darla reached
over and grabbed Jesse pulling him to his feet as he was forced to drop
Buffy's body.
"I wouldn't go too far if I were you." Willow said jumping over the stone
casket knocking Luke over in the process.
"Go! Get out of here." Willow said to her friends before roundhouse kicking
Luke in the head.
Xander and Cordillia picked Buffy up and dragged her from the tomb.
Willow fought with Luke. It was a hard fight. She had begun to lose and the
giant vampire had her pinned in a casket. He was moving to her throat when
his hand brushed her star. The vampire screamed as his hand began to smoke
and he jumped out of the casket.
Willow remained still, catching her breath. Then she took off to check on
the others. Willow caught up with her friends at the edge of the cemetery.
Xander was lowering Buffy to the ground.
"How is she?" Willow asked.
"I don't know" Cordillia cried
"I think she is dead." Xander whispered
"Where is Jesse?" Cordillia asked holding Buffy close to her.
"Sorry I couldn't.." Willow didn't know how to explain the rest.
Just then Giles pulled up next to the curb in an old car. "Thank God I have
been looking everywhere for you."
"Oh Mr. Giles its Buffy." Cordillia wailed
Giles shot out of the car and was at his step daughter's side in a
heartbeat.
"Give me room."
"I think she is already dead." Xander whispered again.
"Willow do you know how to do CPR?" The watcher asked.
"Yes" She answered wondering why he would ask her and not one of the others.

"Take her chest." He said moving to her mouth.
He blew into Buffy's mouth indicating for Willow to pump her heart. Working
silently, except for the count of 5 marking the cycle. Willow noticed the
girl's body wasn't getting any colder and that alone gave her hope. But the
lack of blood coming from the neck wound alarmed her. Instinctively she
touched the girl's neck feeling the warm blood on her fingers.
After what seemed an eternity, Buffy coughed and breathed.
Willow helped the girl to her feet and into the waiting car. The slayer
expected Giles to take Buffy to the hospital so it surprised her when he
simply dropped Xander off at his car and her off at home. Cordillia was
going to spend the night with Buffy.
Standing outside the door to her house the red head was wondering what lie
to tell her father about her appearance. When he opened the door and pulled
her in the house she still hadn't come up with a lie.
"It's about time. Mr. Giles called to see if you made it home all right. Why
didn't you tell me you went skating with the librarians daughter?" Ira
Rosenburg asked his daughter.
"Skating, ah yes and I fell down and that is why I'm a mess." Being a slayer
should come with a manual for lying. She sucked at it when she wasn't lost
in babble mode.
"What's this?" Her father asked pointing at her had, "Blue paint?"
"What." Willow had forgotten all about Buffy's blood. But why the hell it
was blue was a puzzle.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
After a sleepless night Willow hit the library first thing in the morning.
Giles was waiting for her at a table.
"Sleep well."
"No, is Buffy alright?"
"As far as I can tell. Physically she is fine but her taste in music is
dreadful."
"And the color of her blood? Is that dreadful too?" Willow asked
"My step-daughter has no idea about who she is and I would like to keep it
that way."
"So who is she?"
"She is just an average teenage girl like hundreds in America. She is a
little like you I would guess. She also happens to be the product of a mixed
heritage."
"Lost me there?"
"Buffy's mother is human. She is a charming woman. One of the reasons I
married her. But Buffy's Father." The watcher trailed off.
'Isn't human? A demon?"
"Yes, not an extremely evil one but a demon non the less...well that and he
is a lawyer."
"I see and Buffy doesn't know?" Willow asked wondering if slayers were made
that way too. Here mother did have her demon like moments.
"No and I would kindly like to keep it that way. There is no reason that she
should ever need to know. She has a good and honest soul. A very human soul.
She appears human in every way."
"Except for bleeding blue."
"She only does that when she is seriously wounded otherwise it is plain red
blood. Buffy is not a threat to you."
"I didn't think she was. You care about her a lot?"
"I couldn't love her anymore then if she were my own child. Regardless of my
duty as your watcher, I will always put my family first. I think you should
know that up front."
"About Jesse?" Willow changed the subject. "There is a possibility he is
still alive if they know I'm the slayer. They might use him as bait."
"The boy, I'm not sure what to do about him."
The doors to the library crashed open.
"Giles I can't believe you left home before I could talk to you about
Jesse." Buffy said storming through the door with Cordilia on her tail.
Willow noted the bite mark was almost completely healed.
"Oh Hi Willow." The blond added with a puzzled look on her face.
"You are going to have to tell her something Giles if we keep having
meetings like this." Willow said. "Besides they saw me slay last night."
