ROAD TRIP (3/?)

"This is the life," Willow decided, leaning back on the blanket as she sighed
happily.

"See? I do have good ideas sometimes," Buffy smirked as she looked out at the
water.

"They happen so rarely that I'm just not used to them," Willow said, laughing
as Buffy tossed a handful of sand at her. "Stop that!"

"Be nice and I might," Buffy said, eyeing the redhead as she scooped up
another handful of sand.

"Buffy, put the sand down," Willow said, moving to sit up. "Fine, try to
catch me, slayer girl," she taunted as she tried to keep herself from
giggling as she got to her feet, running towards the ocean as the slayer
followed her laughing.

"Gotcha," Buffy said, tackling her friend as they both fell to the ground.
They were laughing though Buffy was keeping an eye on their blanket. She
finally stood, offering Willow her hand. "That was too easy, little girl."

"Hmph, you just caught me because of that slayer speed," Willow said,
sticking her tongue out as she headed back to their blanket. She fell onto
it, glancing at the sun overhead. She waited until Buffy sat down before
pointing out, "You do realize that we could have been hours away from here by
now, don't you?"

"But would we have had as much fun?" Buffy asked, smiling. "Besides, we never
get a chance to just come enjoy the beach. It's been months since we were
here."

"That's because I don't like to swim," Willow said, rolling her eyes. "It is
pretty though. And not as crowded as I would have imagined."

"We got lucky there," Buffy admitted sheepishly, "I figured it would be
packed and we'd only stay half an hour or so."

"It's been nearly three. I think it's time that we made some serious
decisions," Willow said as she reached for beside Buffy.

"I don't like serious," Buffy whined, "have I told you how much I like that
suit on you?"

"Twice," Willow said, smiling slightly as Buffy again tried to side track her
from her mission.

"The color is so you," Buffy said, her eyes narrowing as she studied her
pretty friend. "It's almost the same shade as your eyes when you're excited."

"It's not going to work," Willow sang out as she opened the book.

"Huh?" Buffy moved her eyes from her examination of Willow's bathing suit to
look at the redhead. "What's not going to work?"

"You're trying to distract me," Willow said, mock glaring though her smile
ruined the effect. "We need to get this decided or we'll end up spending our
first vacation day in Sunnydale!"

"If I was trying to distract you, you'd *be* distracted, baby," Buffy said
with a wink before leaning over to look at the book Willow had opened.

"Impossible," Willow muttered as a faint blush of color swept over her
cheeks. She moved to lay on her stomach, pushing her hair out of her face as
she looked at the map. "Where do we want to go?"
