Re: So, when did YOU ...

This topic has managed to pull me out of deep lurkerdom. The very first
episode of Buffy I saw was "The Pack" but it failed to 'grab' me and I
didn't start watching consistently until season three. Someone else
mentioned it but it was actually "Anne" at the start of season three that
hooked me. As to when I became a B/W shipper I can't say definitively
but when I finally got a computer with internet access before the end of
season 4, one of the first things I did was to seek out a B/W group.
Even though I hadn't been on the internet (to any extent) before that
point, I was familiar with fanfiction (including slash) from the early
Star Trek stuff and, from a more involved basis, with Beauty & the Beast
(the TV series). Of course this was in the days prior to the internet so
you actually had to buy your fanfiction (basically just reimbursing the
authors for printing costs) but I digress. My search for B/W fic brought
me here and I joined April 15th, 2000 (one more week and I'll have been
here two years). I did start posting a fic a little over a year ago but
RL forced me into lurkerdom. It's now three jobs later (some job
departures planned, one not) and I just recently dug out my fic and may
have to give it another go.

Anyway, to all the authors, you guys rock. I read just about everything
posted here and it just seems to get better and better (and judging from
all the great fic that's been posted here, that's no small compliment).
My apologies for the lack of feedback but I'll take this opportunity to
just thank all of you.

And Dan - you're doing a fantastic job as moderator. I've enjoyed all
your comments (and those of the others responding to your comments) and
just wish I had more time to get involved. And I love your sense of
humor. Keep up the great work. And Rod, if you check in, be assured the
list is in good hands.

that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries
about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about
heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music
because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to pop
music?" - Rob Gordon - High Fidelity
