”So, they bought it?” Buffy asked Andrew as she entered her apartment.

“Near as I can tell. It was great of the Immortal to help us arrange the whole thing.” Andrew responded.

“That’s just the kind of guy he is. If anyone in this town can get things done on that scale, it’s him. So, how were they?”

“Anxious to see you, and very….competitive. Those two have it bad for you. Angel was babbling something about baking and the Immortal eating cookie dough, what’s that supposed to mean?”

“Oh that. It’s something I told Angel to placate him. It was a line about how I needed to become what I’m supposed to become before I can be with anyone.”

“And did you know at the time what you were supposed to become was a big old lesbian?” Andrew asked as Willow walked in the door.

“I……suspected it. All my relationships had their darkness, and look how well they worked. Just imagine if I had dated Faith when she wanted me to.”

“Is that anyway to talk about your sister’s girlfriend?” Willow asked before stealing a quick kiss from Buffy.

“Sorry, just explaining the ‘cookie speech’ to Andy….”

“Andrew. My name is Andrew.”

“And mine is Buffy, lighten up. As I was saying, I was telling ‘Andrew’ how I strung Angel a line, and of course that got me thinking of my past….”

“What did you ever see in them anyway?”

“Spike is just……rugged and handsome and….” Andrew trailed off as he saw the annoyed looks Buffy and Willow were giving him. “Ok then, I’ll let you two love birds be. You need me, I’ll be at my place.”

“Bye, thanks for helping” Buffy called out as Andrew was starting out the door. “So, what’s Dawn up to?”

“She’s at Giles’ hotel helping him sort through information on Illyria, then when Faith gets done ‘patrolling’, they’re going back to her place.” Willow wraps her arms around Buffy, enjoying their closeness.

“I so wish I didn’t know why Faith still goes out slaying.”

“Dawn loves every minute of it. Besides, she knows way more about us than she wants to, so it’s only fair. And, it gets her out of the house.”

“There is that.”

“Buffy, I want some cookies.”

“I like the way you think.”
