OT Your Help Is Needed for Hurricane Victims

(With apologies to listmoms & dads if this is not acceptable for your list)

Many of you know that I live in Pensacola, FL, where Hurricane Ivan recently hit and destroyed so many homes and lives. Thank all the gods, I was blessed and escaped with no damage to my home.

But I want to tell you about my friend Lydia.

My friend Lydia has a daughter, aged sixteen, and a grandson who is an infant. She also has a roommate who has two daughters, ages 7 and 4.

During the storm, the roof of their house fell in. They lost literally everything they own. They have nothing. No clothes or toys for the children or for the baby, nothing.

What I would like to ask of you is this: If you have something you can donate, or if you know someone who does, please please let me know. It might cost you $3.00 to send a shirt or a baby's creeper through the mail to me (and yes, the mail is now running), but think what a difference that shirt or creeper could make in the lives of Lydia and her family.

Please note: I am **NOT** asking for monetary donations. The __ONLY__ thing I am requesting is clothing for the children (girls ages 7 and 4 and a baby boy) and maybe some toys for them also if you can find it in you.

If you want to send something like this to me, please email me off-list and let me know, and I'll give you my address where you can send it.
