Buffy sighed as she watched some girls giggling about boys in the corner. She wished she was them, they were normal. Buffy was everything but normal, she was a slayer, it was her duty to protect the people of Sunnydale from evil, blood - sucking, vampires, demons or anything dangerous.

"Buffy?" Giles asked, clicking his fingers infront of her.

"Wha..What?" Buffy said, staring straight back at her watcher.

Giles sighed, "Did you hear anything i said?"

Buffy bit her lip, "Something about vampires?" she asked, weakly.

Giles rolled his eyes and took his glasses off, cleaning them. "Buffy, you really must listen more. Its your dutie.." he began, but Buffy interupted.

"To protect the people of Sunnydale, blah blah! And not have a life, blah blah!" Buffy shouted.

Giles looked at her, rather taken back.

"I'm sorry.." Buffy muttered.

Giles looked at her closely, as if studying her. "Your on patroll tonight, you do know that, right? No excuses!" he said.

"Yeah, yeah," Buffy said, putting her bag on her shoulder, whilst getting up.

"Oh and Buffy?" Giles asked.

"Yeah?" Buffy said, flicking a strand of her blonde hair out her face.

"Do be careful.." Giles said, with the same concerned look on his face.

Buffy laughed slightly.

Giles looked confused, "Did i say anything amusing?" he asked, whilst putting his glasses back on.

"No, its just i could say the same to you, with Halloween coming nearer, there's bound to be more nasty vamps around," Buffy said.

"Ah..and your concerned about your watcher?" Giles asked.

"Well yeah, before you i was just an ordinary girl now i'm..." Buffy began, but stopped as someone came in the library.

"Er..so the books due back in 2 weeks," Giles said to Buffy.

"Relax, Relax, its only me. I won't tell anyone your "secret", honestly, like i don't have better things to do," Cordelia said, tossing her brown hair to the side.

"Cordelia.." Buffy said blankley.

"Is there something i can do for you? Cordelia? If not i'm rather busy.." Giles said, looking at Cordelia.

"Well i want a book..." Cordelia said.

"So thats why you came here..makes sense," Buffy said, sarcastically.

Cordelia glared at Buffy.

"Could you please be a bit more pacific?" Giles asked.

Cordelia looked back to Giles, "About.." she dropped her voice to a whisper, "Unicorn blood."

Buffy looked at Cordelia confused.

"Well i've got to go.." Buffy said, "Bye Giles, good luck with your "Unicorn blood" book Cordy," she smirked.

Cordelia looked around quickly to see if anyone had heard Buffy, but was relived to see no one had even raised there heads.

Buffy laughed at Cordelia's face and walked out the library, a huge grin on her face.

"So are you going to the Bronze tonight?" Willow asked, looking at Buffy.

"Sure why not," Buffy smiled.

"Great!" Willow said, enthusiastically, "Oz is coming and hes going to play and it will be really great, no vamps, nothing, just.." she began, speaking rather fast.

"Shit!" Buffy said, interupting, "I'm suppose to be on patrol tonight."

"Oh.." Willow said, looking at the floor sadly, "Its okay..we can go another night..i'll just stay inside and study.."

Buffy looked at Willow & bit her lip, "Fine, i'll come. But i've got to patrol first."

Willow smiled widely, "Great! You soo won't regret this Buffy!"

Buffy looked at her ginger haired friend, sternly, "If i go, you don't tell Giles right?" she said.

"My lips are sealed," Willow grinned.

"See any vampires here?" Buffy asked, as she sipped her drink in the Bronze.

"Nope," Willow said, scaning the room quickly then looking back up at Oz.

"Hes so cute," Willow said, dreamily.

"Why thanks Will," Xander grinned.

Willow looked at him and smiled, "Not you Xand, Oz!"

Xander pouted, "Yeah, like i'm not sexy?!"

Buffy & Willow both went in fits of giggles.

"Oh come on! admit it," Xander smirked, "You both want me."

Buffy smiled, "Am i that transparent? I want you oh baby oh baby."

"It could do without the sarcasim," Xander said.

Buffy smiled, then her eyes darted to a girl chatting to a guy in the corner.

Buffy quickly grabbed her bag and jumped to her feet.

"Whats up Buff?" Xander asked, looking at his friend.

"Guy in the corner..hes a vampire," Buffy said, as she watched the guy lead the girl outside.

Buffy turned to Xander & Willow, "Wait here."

With that Buffy ran out the bronze.

"Do we have a choice?" Xander asked, watching Buffy dissapear.

Buffy walked slowly down the dark alley, trying to hear a voice.

"Do you like it here?" she heard the boy ask.

"Its okay," the girl replied.

"Good," the boy snarled, "Because your going to die here."

The girl screamed, but the guy covered her mouth.

"No one's going to save you, your going to die here a.." he began, but Buffy was already running at him, stake in hand.

"Sorry, just had to drop by," Buffy grinned, whilst punching the vampire in the head.

"Ah fucking hell!" The vampire shouted, running his head.

"Say your last words," Buffy said, as she plunged the stake into the vampires chest.

"Shit!" The boy shouted.

Buffy rolled her eyes, "Thats it? Okay, as you wish," she said, pulling the stake away.

The girl watched terrified, as the boy exploded into dust.

Buffy turned to the girl and smiled, "Its okay now."

"T..thank you," The girl stuttered.

Buffy smiled, "No problem."

With one last smile, Buffy turned around and found herself looking into the eyes of her watcher.

"Evening Gile.." Buffy began, but Giles held up a hand to silence her.

"Where have you been?!" Giles asked sharply.

"Well i've.." Buffy began, but he cut her off again.

"People have died Buffy! Loads of people!" Giles said.

Buffy looked confused, "But how?"

Giles dropped his voice to a whisper, "The master's back..with a new sidekick.."

"Who?" Buffy asked.

"C..Cordelia.." Giles said.

Buffy's green eyes widened, as they suddenely became circled by over 20 vampires..
