Spoilers: Nope. Unless they do actually do this, which I'm definately not opposed to.
Summary: The way a music video should be.
Disclaimer: Anything to do with Buffy isn't mine. Neither is anything to do with Evanescence. I own nothing :(
Anything else: Obviously this is much better if you have heard the song but I recommend you hear it anyway. Amy Lee has an hauntingly beautiful voice.
:: Intro ::
Pan around graveyard. It's dark. We see Buffy fighting with a Vamp in slow motion. We can't hear anything but the music.
:: How can you see into my eyes like open doors ::
Buffy, already having been beaten badly, is punched to the ground with finality, the Vamp descending on her, biting her neck.
:: Leading you down into my core, where I've become so numb ::
Cut to Willow in the Magic Box, doing research. Her head shoots up as she knows something is wrong but the witch's brow is furrowed because she doesn't know what. Giles looks over.
:: Without a soul, my spirit sleeping somewhere cold ::
Cut back to Buffy who now raises in game face. The other Vampire is nowhere in sight. She gets up but we see that behind her lying still on the grass is her soul. Cut back to Vanp Buffy who is flexing her fingers and bending her wrists.
:: Until you find it there ::
Willow's eyes widen in terror. She knows something has happened to Buffy.
:: And lead it back home ::
Vamp Buffy touches the ridges on her forehead and grins evilly as her soul watches, the glow fading slightly, pained.
:: (Wake me up) ::
The Magic Box door crashes open.
:: Wake me up inside ::
Willow tears through the door, running to get to Buffy.
:: (I can't wake up) Wake me up inside,
(Save me) Call my name and save me from the dark,
(Wake me up) Bid my blood to run,
(I can't wake up) Before I come undone,
(Save me) Save me from the nothing I've become ::
Shots alternate between Vamp Buffy grinning and flexing body parts, Buffy's soul becoming increasingly hopeless, despairing, and Willow, running as fast as possible through the graveyard to get to Buffy, to save her. She doesn't want to lose her. We see her stop dead in her tracks.
:: Now that I know what I'm without ::
Camera moves around the back of Willow's head until we see Vamp Buffy, clearly considering eating Willow. Beside Vamp Buffy, we see Buffy's soul.
:: You can't just leave me ::
Both Willow and Buffy's soul begin to cry as they reaslise they can't be together again.
:: Breathe into me and make me real ::
Cut to - we see Willow facing Vamp Buffy from a side view, but we see Vamp Buffy through Buffy's transparent soul. Willow reaches out to touch Vamp Buffy, unaware of the soul, which also reaches out to touch Willow, crying. Willow's arm goes staight through Buffy's soul's hand. Her soul breaks down.
:: Bring me to life ::
Vamp Buffy snaps out of it and her eyes widen as she realises what's going on.
:: (Wake me up) Wake me up inside ::
Vamp Buffy hits Willow and she falls to the ground.
:: (I can't wake up) Wake me up inside ::
Willow raises her head to Vamp Buffy, anger and desperation obvious in her eyes.
:: (Save me) Call my name ::
Vamp Buffy grins, showing her teeth.
:: And save me from the dark ::
Willow rises, staring Vamp Buffy in the face.
:: (Wake me up) Bid my blood to run ::
Vamp Buffy grabs Willow by the neck and leans in.
:: (I can't wake up) Before I come undone ::
Willow struggles and stabs Vamp Buffy in the side.
:: (Save me) Save me from the nothing I've become ::
Vamp Buffy lets go of Will who coughs and rubs her throat. Zoom in on the bloody knife in her right hand.
:: Bring me to life ::
Shot of Vamp Buffy looking defiant. Shot of Will wearing her resolve face.
:: I've been living a lie, there's nothing inside ::
Close up on the knife in the palm of Willow's hand.
:: Bring me to life ::
Vamp Buffy looks suspicious. Buffy's soul's eyes widen. She knows what is going to happen.
:: Frozen inside without your touch, without your love ::
Willow brings the knife to her wrist and tentativly cuts it, tears steadily running down her face, and raises it to Vamp Buffy.
:: Darling, only you are the life ::
Vamp Buffy focuses her eyes on the blood, teeth showing again, and leans in tasting the blood.
:: Among the dead ::
The witch's head flies back in pain, pleasure, fear and relief.
:: All this time I can't believe I couldn't see ::
Cut to Buffy's soul radiating a bright light, powered by what is happening.
:: Kept in the dark but you were there infront of me ::
Vamp Buffy reels back from her wrist.
:: I've been sleeping a thousand years it seems ::
Willow watches as Vamp Buffy holds her head in pain.
:: Got to open my eyes to everything ::
She crouches over, throwing her hands around her stomach.
:: Without a thought, without a voice, without a soul ::
We now see that the demon part of Vamp Buffy is being overpowered by memories of Buffy and Willow together in their life.
*Willow bandaging Buffy's leg so carefully.*
*Willow crying on her bed, Buffy comforting her.*
:: Don't let me die here, there must be something more ::
Memories speed up.
*Buffy and Willow talking before they are burnt at the stake.*
*Buffy mouthing 'I kind of love you' to Will on the grass.*
*Willow and Buffy talking in Will's room, on the bed.*
:: Bring me to life ::
*Willow and Buffy hugging before they go to battle Adam.*
*Laughing at the Bronze.*
*The two joined hands, meditating on Will's bed, healing her from Gnarl's injuries.*
*Laughing at school*
*Buffy taking Willow's hand in her own as they walk through the silent streets fearing the Gentlemen.*
*Talking at UC Sunnydale.*
The memories are now almost a blur, they're coming that fast.
:: (Wake me up) Wake me up inside ::
Cut to - Willow with her resolve face again, watching Vamp Buffy twist in defeat.
:: (I can't wake up) Wake me up inside ::
She steps forward and takes Vamp Buffy's head in her hands.
:: (Save me) ::
Moves in toward Vamp Buffy.
:: Call my name and save me from the dark ::
Willow kisses her and we see her soul cry tears of true happiness.
:: (Wake me up) Bid my blood to run,
(I can't wake up) Before I come undone,
(Save me) Save me from the nothing I've become ::
The camera circles Willow kissing Vamp Buffy and we see Buffy's soul flash a brilliant white before it is pulled back into Vamp Buffy's body.
:: Bring me to life ::
Buffy is now kissing Willow back, and they wrap their arms around each other as the camera continues to circle them.
:: I've been living a lie ::
They pull back and stop kissing.
:: There's nothing inside ::
Buffy, crying, smiles kisses onto Willow's face everywhere possible and we see her mouth 'thank you' before Will kisses her again.
:: Bring me to life ::
They stop kissing again and rest their foreheads together, smiling into each others' eyes.
:: Outro ::
Close up on Willow and Buffy's faces. Will touches Buffy's forehead and trails them down her face, over her eyes and nose to her lips, where they are kissed. They hug. Camera zooms out slowly to fade.
We hear Giles' voice faintly saying: 'My God. Soulmates.'
