Chapter 10

Alexandra Roberts walked out of the bathroom, merrily humming a small tune under her breath, and started to turn back towards the kitchen. She stopped, momentarily, by the closed bedroom door where the Slayer and Witch lay sleeping and couldn't stop the genuinely huge grin from over taking her face. The woman was Almost certain that they had finally gotten together and that thought simply tickled the Southerner down to her bones.
It did her tired psyche Good to think that Buffy and Willow where exactly where they always should've been because, God knows, it had certainly taken them long enough to get there!

Be happy, thought Alex to herself, ya'll totally deserve it.

With one last thoughtful glance at the door, the woman made her way into the kitchen and began to prepare herself a light breakfast. As she washed her plate and coffee cup, Alexandra Robert's came to a quick decision. She was loathe to wake the young couple because, damnit, they should have at least one day utterly devoted to themselves!! The gray eyes narrowed as a lovely thought took center stage within her brain functions. The dark woman in the most bittersweet of ways as she got out a pen, sheet of paper and began to scribble a hastily composed note. Alex laughed, as she taped it to the fridge. Without a backwards glance, the woman walked out the front door and started heading towards Rupert Giles place.

Thirty minutes later, Buffy Summers came into full wakefulness. Those hazel eyes brightened at the lovely sight of Willow curled, so trustingly, against her side. The Wiccan's face was totally open and relaxed, the gorgeous pink lips ever so slightly parted. Buffy really couldn't stop herself from leaning over to, gently, kiss the only woman she would ever truly love. At that feather light touch, Willow Rosenberg's sleepy green eyes opened.

"Good morning, beautiful," said the Slayer in her most charming of voices. "Mmm, morning," replied a slightly dazed red head.

The blond strove to keep a smile from overtaking her face, the total and encompassing want, shining so clearly out from the other girl's expressive visage was, literally, making her day. While a huge part of her so wanted to take Will up on what she was so clearly offering, the bigger part of Buffy Summers realized, she had to resist. Alex could be waiting out there and the Slayer really didn't want to have to explain to the dark woman why they would'va missed breakfest.

"Love the thought, Wills, but dont'ca think we better get ourselves to the kitchen before Alex comes knocking on our door?"

The tone, though nothing short of jestful, through the Witch into total babble mode. The mere thought of that dark woman opening the door and finding her and Buffy in a compromising position, simply tweaked Willow's every thought processes.

"Food. Yes, food is a good thing. Eggs, toast, cereal and o.j. are all great choices for breakfast. There's also the option of muffins, fruit, potatoes, steak...."

Buffy, though amused by Will's reaction, cut off the steady stream of word's by placing her hand over the other girl's mouth.

"Shush Wills and relax. Everything's okay, no need to spaz."

The Slayer then, rolled out of the warm bed and proceeded to redress herself in the clothes she'd worn last night. The blond, with sparkling hazel eyes, held out one elegant hand to the other woman.

"Coming, love?"

Willow gave serious consideration to just pulling Buffy back into bed and ravishing that gorgeous woman but, immediately nixed that idea. Past experience had taught the red head that, when the Slayer was hungry, nothing would stop Buffy Summers from eating when she was starving. With a tiny sigh, the Witch got dressed and allowed herself to directed towards the kitchen. Both teens where highly puzzled by the fact that Alex wasn't already sitting down at the table, awaiting their arrival. It was then that Buffy noticed the paper hanging from the fidge's door.

Ever curious, Buffy Summers pulled it down and got the shock of her life. The note, though short, concise and to the point, surprised both Slayer and Witch as they read it together.

Guys, it said, take today for yourselves and Enjoy! Don't worry, me and the rest of the Scoobs will handle today's search.
PS Don't do anything I wouldn't do. Ha,Ha,Ha

Willow, who'd just come to the end of that note, was deeply touched by Alex's thoughtfulness. That woman was a constant source of surprise and the Wiccan could only hope, someday, the Southerner would find somebody withwhich to share herself.

"She's pretty special, isn't she Will?"

Buffy, being the Slayer, knew how rare it was to find a person willing to give up their time just so she could enjoy a little happiness. Thinking along those lines, however, could reduce the mighty Slayer into a big puddle of mush. Buffy, therefore, deliberately, injected a jovial tone into her voice as she spoke.

"So, what do ya think about today? In other words, what's on our agenda Wills?"

The other girl cocked her head as soft green eyes melded with clear hazel orbs. The blonde simply waited, knowing that her best bud wouldn't let her down.

"I don't know. We could have a picnic, take a trip to the beach, go to the amusement park, maybe see a movie or.."

The Slayer pulled the other girl just a little closer. Willow had left her hanging in delicious torment and Buffy yearned to know what the other girl was thinking.

"Or what?"

By now this sexy half grin had overtaken the Wiccan's face. It bespoke of heated, passionate things and Buffy was helpless against it's appeal.

"Or I could take you back to bed and make love to you, at least, til Alex comes back for lunch."

Those huskily spoken words caused Buffy to groan, almost in physical pain. Seeing the effect she had upon her best friend, thrilled Willow enormously. The Slayer found herself well and truly torn. A part of herself wanted to heed the Witch's words and spend the rest of the day in a sexual cocoon with her new lover but, the saner part of her realized the opportunity Alex had laid out before them. This would be the only time they could paint the town red without worrying about the reactions of parents and friends.

Her decision made, Buffy stared beseechingly into the Wiccan's eyes. There was such innate honesty within the Slayer's eyes and Willow couldn't help but be, once again, pulled into the total beauty that was Buffy Summers.

"Don't get me wrong, Willow, I'd love to have your hands dancing across every part of me right now but, let's hold off for a little bit. Why don't we go pick up some lunch, we can take it with us. I want to share something with you, it's my most favorite part of Sunnydale. I think, Will, that you'll really like my favorite place. It's quiet, peaceful and I promise you, there'll be no one around to disturb us. Will you come with me, my Wiccan friend?"

The red head leaned in to press a butterfly soft kiss across the Slayer's forehead. Where ever it was, it sounded divine to Willow. She was also insanely curious about why she'd never heard about this place before now.

"I'm game, Buffy. You gonna tell me how come you've never mentioned this to me before right this minute?"

The blonde could tell that Will was honestly curious but, also, maybe a little hurt by her secret. Buffy frowned, how was she going to explain this to her best friend?!?

"Sometimes, but not often, I just need a place to escape my life, Willow. When the weight of being the Slayer starts to drag me down, this is where I head to re-center myself. No one else has seen my place, your the first and last, Will. I've wanted to share it with you before now but, I just didn't know how to tell you about it. You, Xander and Giles have always seen me as this tough, strong woman and, I guess, I just didn't want to break that facade. Do you get what I'm trying to tell you, love?"

The red head was achingly aware that any wrong answer would turn this perfect day into a seriously dark conversation. She had suspected that Buffy had problems with the job her life had chosen for her and was glad that the blonde had found somewhere that could assauge the dark emotions that resided within the Slayer's heart.

"Yeppers, it's crystal clear. We're cool, Buffy." The blonde chuckled, " Good. Lets go have some fun, Will."

The Witch and Slayer where laughing, holding hands, as they exited the house. They did remember to lock the front door before heading off into the warm sunlight.
