Seasons

It had been a long night, for the both of them. Riley had left Buffy in haste after finding out about how Angel had lost his soul, and after Oz returned and wrecked things with Tara, Willow was ready to break down. It had been Giles who suggested a night off for the both of them. No school work, no patrol, and no boys, just the two of them, snacks, talking and some movies.
Joyce had been called away to pick up some new displays for the gallery earlier that night, so they decided to have their girl's night in at Buffy's. She and Willow picked up a few things from their dorm after class and headed to Buffy's house, where they were not likely to be disturbed by rowdy pledges and freshmen. Upon arriving on Revello Drive they noticed that the sun had gone away and it had begun to snow, an odd occurrence for the usual temperate Sunnydale. Buffy and Willow headed for the house faster now, the snowflakes turning their skin icy as they raced down the street in short sleeves and Capri pants. Without haste, Buffy unlocked the door to her home and the girls piled in out of the snow.
"What the hell is going on out there?" Buffy squealed into the receiver with Giles' "hello?" "It's snowing, and really cold, in case you hadn't noticed."
"I noticed, I may be old, but I'm not blind. I believe it is some sort of weather altering demon, rare breed, but its mere presence is enough to alter the climate of any given town."
"Ok, just lemme grab my coat and I'll be over in ten."
"No, Buffy, I promised you the night off, and I meant it, now I don't want to see you for another 24 hours understand?" Buffy pondered the thought of not slaying with a demon on the loose.
"Giles, I don't think that's a good ide-" "If you talk anymore I will change my suggestion of time off from one day to two, now go, relax, and have some fun."
Buffy hung up the phone in disbelief, had she actually heard her stuffy, tweed bound watcher suggest that she have some fun. It was almost too much for her to comprehend. Just then, Willow squeaked as she slipped on the stairs. Buffy, putting her slayer abilities into action raced to the stairs and caught her friend just as she was about to fall.
"Think you could try leaving the heavy lifting to me?" she said, indicating the barrage of blankets raining down on her redheaded counterpart, "I think I've got you beat on the whole balance thing."
"You may have me beat on keeping these things folded, but at least I can fold them back without having to touch them, you don't have a slayer ability for that now does you?" Willow smirked as she waved her hand and levitated the blankets, folding them and placing them on the sofa.
"Did you make the hot cocoa?" she asked the slayer
"No, I called Giles to figure out what the hell was going on"
"..And..."
"He said its some sort of demon, some rare breed of weather changing demony creatu-"
"-so you're leaving?"
"Not a chance, he wouldn't even let me try and get out of this house. Knowing him he probably implanted some weird tracking device on my clothes or something..."
Both girls giggled at the idea of Giles and a puppy tracer collar for Buffy as they made their way to the kitchen for munchies and hot cocoa.
Willow's gaze followed her blonde friend across the kitchen to the stove and watched as she placed the pan of water on the burner to boil. She tracked the slayer as she expertly made her way around the kitchen, gathering snacks, cups, and sweets on a large tray as she went. Buffy poured the hot water into large mugs and made her way to the refrigerator.
"You want cream?" she asked the daydreaming witch, wondering what had suddenly gotten her so distracted. When the redhead offered no response, Buffy waved her hand in front of her friend's face. Buffy was beginning to become concerned at Willow's lack of response, but she gazed over her friend's serene face and an idea popped into her head.
Willow's nose twitched when, as it finally became warm again, something cold hit it. She snapped out of her dream state and saw a big dollop of whipped cream on her nose, and her best friend laughing in front of her.
"Ick, sticky..." she exclaimed, turning around to wet a paper towel in order to wipe off her nose.
"Its whipped cream, you're supposed to eat it." Buffy's voice offered from behind her. "Where'd you go Will? You seemed awful detached for a minute there."
"I was...I umm...I just spaced out for a sec, no biggie" she couldn't let the slayer know that she had actually been thinking about her lips on her own, on her neck, her stomach, and her... "Buffy! So what movies do we have for tonight?"
"well, we have some action flicks, some chick flicks, and of course the comedy, its up to you, whatever you want, as long as you let me help you get that cream off your nose first" That last part caught Willow's attention. The change in her best friend's voice was evident, but what did it mean? Was Buffy flirting with her?
Buffy took the wet paper towel out of Willow's hand and wiped off her nose; she grabbed the tray and headed for the living room. "C'mon Will, its movie time!"
Willow stood stock still in the kitchen hall for a moment before following. Buffy had placed a movie in the player and the previews were beginning to roll. She carefully crawled under the sea of blankets spread out on the sofa and gasped as Buffy switched off the light, leaving the room dark except for the glare of the television and the pale blue glint coming from outside the window. The movie played on, and about halfway through Buffy shifted on the couch so that she was sitting with Willow's head resting on her shoulder with her arm around the redheaded witch. The room was quite but for the soundtrack of the movie.
"Will? Can I talk to you about something?"
"Of course, why wouldn't you? That's what I'm here for"
"I kinda have a confession to make" Willow could feel Buffy's heart rate increase underneath her ear and couldn't help but wonder what could make the slayer this nervous to tell her.
"What is it Buffy?"
"You see Will, I've been wanting to tell you for a long time, but I always get interrupted by something...or...someone, but now since we're alone I want to tell you...its hard to say, but I'm pretty sure you'll be ok with most of it because you're ....you know...and the Tara thing....so..Yeah....I'm kinda...I'm .....Ok I should just let this out....I'm bi Will"
"Oh...Buffy, why would you be so nervous about telling me.....wait, most of it? There's more?"
"Well, that's the part I was kinda wary about telling you." Buffy turned to face her friend "you see, I've known for a while that I was...different...and I kind of...I love you Will"
"I love you too Buffy"
"No, Willow, I mean, I'm in love with you. In like...a non platonic kinda way."
"I know what you meant Buffy, I am too, and I have been for a while now"
Buffy was stunned. The girl she loved, the girl she had fantasized about for so many years actually returned her feelings. She was in absolute shock, she soon found herself in a daydream state, and she assumed it was much like the state Willow had been in earlier. Willow, taking an idea from earlier in the night left a dollop of whipped cream on Buffy's nose to take her out of her dream state. Buffy snapped out of her daze and focused on Willow.
"What was that for?"
"You were daydreaming"
"Oh...I see...can you hand me a napkin?"
"Nope"
"Why not?"
"Its whipped cream, you're supposed to eat it"
"Oh...right"
Just as the words left her mouth, Willow leaned forward and licked the cream off of Buffy's nose. Buffy sat there in stunned silence as Willow leaned back and savored the cream before wiping the remainder off with a napkin.
"That is really sweet"
"I want to taste"
Willow cupped the side of Buffy's cheek for a second, admiring how cute the powerful woman could be for a moment before leaning forward and placing her lips on those of the slayer. Buffy's breath hitched in her throat for a second before she kissed Willow back. It was sweet, tender, and loving, but with no expectation behind it. Willow's neck shivered as she felt the tip of Buffy's tongue teasing her lips, silently asking for entrance. Willow gave her access and Buffy slid her tongue past Willow's lips to explore the depths of the other girl's mouth. Willow felt Buffy's tongue on her own and they began to sensuously slide over one another. Willow soon found herself leading Buffy down on to the sofa to where she was lying on top of the girl. The time passed quickly, the movie ending and shutting itself off, the night creeping up on the Summer's household, time being no object to the two lovers on the sofa. The girls kissed for hours, proclaiming their love for one another between kisses and caresses of the skin. The dawn hours swiftly approaching, Willow, with her head on Buffy's chest placed her hand over Buffy's heart.
"I feel it beating, it's so fast"
"It's because it finally knows what it wants"
"What's that?"
"You"
With that Willow began to cry softly, she tenderly kissed the slayer and fell into a deep and restful sleep in the arms of the woman she loved.
Buffy stirred as the protruding sunlight beamed in her eyes through the living room window. She began to get up to close the blinds but stopped when she noticed the beautiful redhead sleeping contentedly on her shoulder. Buffy stroked the girls red locks and placed a soft kiss on her head. The girl stirred, eyes shuddering at the brightness of the sun through the curtains. She waved her hand and the blinds shut themselves, once again shrouding the lovers in darkness.
"Will, its morning, and its not snowing"
"I love you Buffy"
"I love you too Willow....I've always loved you..."
"You said it stopped snowing...I knew they were listening"
"Will? Who was listening?" Buffy asked playfully.
"After Oz left, I asked the goddess to give me a sign as to who I was supposed to be with. I guess the snow was a sign"
Buffy smiled slyly, leaning down to kiss the girl she loved once again as the day passed on without them.

The end...or maybe not...I'm not sure.
