A/N: I know that many people don't like the musical episode of BtVS. I am NOT one of them. I liked it. The only part that I didn't like was that damn kiss at the end. So what if that kiss had ended... differently.

I forgot to add something yesterday. A special thanks to Ivygort, for her input on this story. Thanks Ivy!

One more thing, believe it or not parts of thistory is supposed to be in italics. If anybody out tgere knows how to make the Italics show up here, i'd appreciate an e-mail about it. B.

Part Two

Buffy ran for a good ten blocks. For Willow, it was the most exhilarating and, at the same time, terrifying experience of her life. The Slayer had carried her before but never this far and certainly not at a dead run!

'Oh, that was a really BAD choice of words.' Thought Willow.

As she was set on her feet the redhead opened her mouth to speak when Buffy interrupted, "Let's get inside first Will. This isn't the safest neighborhood."

Willow looked around the dimly lit alley. "Vampires?"

Buffy snorted, "Humph. Not with me around. No, I'm talking about some good old-fashioned muggers. They couldn't hurt us but..."

"They might delay us."

"Yeah," she said, unlocking a door and waving the redhead inside. "I know you must have a million questions..."

"Just one." Willow said.

"I'll explain after we get upstairs Will."

The red haired witch nodded and entered the stairwell. Buffy closed the door, which turned out to be steel with several locks on the inside. It opened onto a steep set of stairs that led up into the darkness. The Slayer set to relocking the door. "Go on, I'll catch up."

Hesitantly, Willow said, "Um... Buffy, I can't see in the dark."

"Sorry Will, I forget." She flicked a switch and a light came on past the top of the stairs.

Willow started climbing and Buffy passed her just as she reached a short corridor that ended in another door. Once unlocked it opened on a small but clean one bedroom apartment. The red haired Wiccan watched from the doorway as Buffy flopped down on a sofa and pulled off her boots with a grimace.

"Ow." The black clad Slayer complained, "I have got to stop wearing these. They are killing my feet."

For long moments, the redhead just stared at the vampire that used to be (still was?) her best friend. Finally, she couldn't take the silence anymore.

"So, you have a band?"

They both burst into giggles.

Meanwhile, Xander had come to and managed to make his way back to the hotel.

"Xander!" Dawn cried as he staggered through the door. "What happened?"

"Your sister." He said carefully lowering himself to the bed.

"Buffy hit you?" Dawn asked as she put ice in a towel for Xander's swollen face.

Xander gingerly pressed the makeshift icepack against his cheek. "She knocked me out!"

"Where's Willow?"

"I don't know. They were gone when I woke up."

"Gone?" the teen snapped, "Are you telling me you found Buffy and then you LOST her? AND Willow?"

Xander raised his hand as if to ward off the angry Summers. "Calm down Dawn. We'll find them." He reached for a phone with his free hand.

"Who are you calling?" Asked Dawn.

"Giles."

After the giggle-fest had ended, Willow joined Buffy on the sofa where the Slayer was still trying to rub her own feet. "Gimme." She sighed.

"Huh?"

"Your feet." Willow said, pointing. "I'll never get any answers out of you while you're whining about your tootsies."

"Hey!" but she turned and put her feet in Willow's lap anyway.

The redhead started massaging the ball of Buffy's right foot with both hands. She managed to ignore the coldness of the skin under her fingers. She switched to the other foot as Buffy leaned back and closed her eyes, luxuriating in the feeling of Willow-ness that permeated her being. The simple pleasure of her touch; the touch the Slayer had thought to never feel again. She struggled to hold back the tears.

Willow switched to the other foot watching Buffy out of the corner of her eyes. She grew confused at the play of emotions she witnessed. She'd never heard of a vampire that missed the friends and family of their old life, but it seemed that was exactly what was happening with Buffy.

"Buffy?" she asked quietly, "How did this happen?"

Buffy stiffened. 'Well, you knew she was going to ask eventually.'

"Spike." She whispered, looking away from Willow.

The redhead lost it. "Spike? SPIKE did this to you?" she exclaimed. "I'll KILL him!"

Buffy firmly nudged Willow with her foot She snapped her head around to see a pout on the blonde's face. "You quit."

A confused and angry Willow asked, "What?"

"I'll make you a deal." Buffy said. "You keep rubbing, I'll finish the story, okay?"

Still confused, she settled back on the sofa and with a put-upon sounding "Grumble, grumble." resumed massaging Buffy's feet.

The vampire settled back into the cushions and let out a little sigh of pleasure. One that was interrupted as Willow twisted her little toe painfully.

"Ow! Ow! Ow!" Buffy cried.

"Finish. The. Story." The red haired wiccan threatened.

"Okay! Just... don't do that again." Watching Willow carefully, she continued. "During that last song Spike left the Bronze... and I followed him. I'm not really sure how or why it happened but... we kissed." She said.

'It's not real, it's just make-believe.' Buffy thought as she kissed her one time enemy, sometimes (reluctant) ally. Since she'd come back ('No, since I was torn out of heaven.') she'd been functioning on autopilot, not really feeling anything. She'd been afraid that if she allowed herself to feel anything REAL that she'd shatter into a million pieces.

'Guess that's how I wound up in this alley, in the dark, making out with someone I hate.'

Spike's mouth had left hers and was traveling down her jawline to her throat. He was clasping the Slayer to himself as if she were a lifeboat and he was a drowning man. During the fight earlier Buffy had been scratched on the neck. She knew the instant he tasted the blood because he stiffened against her and grasped her even harder.

Buffy didn't feel threatened, her only response was to sigh, thinking, 'That's gonna leave bruises tomorrow.'

She felt it when he vamped out. The forehead ridges brushing harshly against her cheek.

"Spike." Buffy had intended it to be a warning growl but somehow it sounded more like a whimper. Between the scent and taste of the Slayer's blood and what must have sounded like an invitation, Spike lost all control and sank his fangs deep into her soft throat and began to swallow convulsively.

The color drained from Willow's face as she opened her mouth to speak. "Wait, please?" Buffy cut her off.

"Spike's instincts got the better of him and he bit me. I should have fought him right away but..."

"But what?" Willow hissed angrily. "What could have convinced you to let that fucking MONSTER feed off of you? And what about his chip? Didn't it go off?"

"No, and to be honest that may be why I didn't struggle at first." She looked quickly away from the exasperated redhead. "Seriously Will, I thought his chip would fry his brain any second. By the time I realized that it wasn't going to... I was too weak."

"And?" Willow prodded.

"You have to understand that this next part I'm not real sure about, what with me being almost dead at the time; but Spike said that when he realized what he'd done, he did the only thing he could think of."

"He fed you his blood." Willow said with a hollow voice.

"Yes..." She began but the Wiccan cut her off.

"That was the only thing he could think of! How about calling an ambulance? Or rushing you to the hospital himself? Or hey! Here's a radical idea, why not just stick his head in the door of the Bronze and yell 'Help! Injured Slayer here."

Buffy tried to interrupt but a wound up Willow was like a force of nature and just as difficult to stop.

"Oh no! He had to do the ONE thing that was SURE to make you think that you had no one else to turn to. And that ASSHOLE claims to love you?"

"Willow!" Buffy shouted to get the redhead's attention.

"What!" Willow rounded on the Slayer, then her eyes widened as she realized who (and what) she was screaming at. "Sorry." She said her face reddening.

"It's okay." Buffy sighed, "I knew you'd be mad."

Willow chuckled bitterly, "Right now I'm not sure if I'm more mad at Spike for biting you," She looked the Vamped Slayer in the eyes. "or you for kissing him in the first place."

A sad silence fell between the two long time friends. But all during her tirade, not once had Willow stopped rubbing Buffy's feet.

Giles had been terribly concerned when Xander had finally managed to reach him. After giving him a quick synopsis of what had happened in the club, the Watcher had promised to catch the first flight he could to Chicago. Dawn paced the hotel room during the exchange muttering under her breath.

"Great, Giles is on his way. But how long will that take?" she said angrily. "And in the meantime who knows WHAT the hell is going on with Willow and my crazy sister."

Xander hung up the phone. "Giles thinks he can be here by day after tomorrow at the latest."

Dawn turned to face him. "And we do what until then? Just sit here on our asses?"

"What else can we do Dawn? Willow might be able to... no, that's right she left with Buffy right after she kicked my ass!" He said bitterly. "She's the witchy part of the group remember? No Willow, no locater spell."

"I can do it." The teenager said quietly.

"Do what?" Xander said suspiciously.

"The locater spell." Dawn said, crossing her arms.

Xander leaped to his feet. "Uh-uh, no chance, no way, no how! That's how Willow started, first its all floaty pencils and locater spells. The next thing you know its urns of Osiris, snakes crawling out of mouths and bringing back the dead! Not a chance Dawnmeister."

Dawn rolled her eyes and snapped. "Do you have a better idea? If so, let's hear it!"

Faced with young girl's stubbornness, Xander shoulders slumped as he replied, "No... dammit."

Dawn put her arms around the young man as she tried to reassure him, "I can do this Xander." Looking up into his eyes she said, "It's the only chance we have to find them."
