Chapter 6

[reviews]

I could hear Buffy and Giles arguing. Joyce was behind them, offering her opinion. I couldn't really make anything out, as the pain was too intense for me to focus. I moaned, Buffy suddenly at my side. She smiled down at me; I smiled back, glad to see her.

"How'd it go?" I mumbled, as Buffy broke into a wide grin.

"It went fine, Giles always knew we had a connection. Xander?" she asked, looking at the boy who was still shocked to see Ms. Summers.

"He's happy for us, but it'll take some getting used to," I replied, trying to keep my answers short, to minimize pain. Buffy got up. She walked over, and hugged Xander tightly. Xander grinned, soon groaning in pain.

"Love you too Buff. You're welcome. You two are happy," Xander said, as Buffy released her hold. She smiled, pecking him on the cheek. I arched an eyebrow at that display. Buffy turned and winked at me, Xander looking like he'd be on cloud nine for years. Buffy took a seat next to me as Giles stood next to Joyce.

"She knows everything? Even that you tw-" Giles began but Buffy cut him off. I sighed, relieved that Buffy did that.

"Yes, she knows everything about the Slayer side of my life," Buffy said, emphasizing slayer. Giles took the hint, but Xander didn't. I groaned, as he spoke.

"Wait, so she doesn't know that Buffy and Willow are a couple?" he asked, instantly knowing that he had messed up. If I weren't in so much pain, I'd have throttled him. Buffy looked like she was going to for me. Joyce just looked very confused.

"When did this happen? Buffy?" Joyce asked, as Buffy bowed her head. I instinctively took her hand in mine, squeezing it reassuringly.

"Before you came in, and we had our talk about my being a Slayer. All we did was kiss though. We slept in the bed but nothing else...went on," Buffy said, suddenly realizing exactly what she was saying, and to whom she was saying it to. I blushed, trying to shrink in my chair, and hoping a hole would swallow me. I'm sure Buffy felt the same way, but I was not going to look at her, not if Joyce was angry. I glanced at Xander, and rolled my eyes when I realized that he already was having fantasies. I smirked at him, and he came back with a sheepish grin. Giles was busy rubbing his glasses.

"Did that...just happen?" Joyce asked, as Buffy and I blushed simultaneously.

"We've always had these feelings beneath the surface, but last night, was the first time we admitted it to each other," I said, eyes drawn to the table. I was relieved when Buffy squeezed my hand.

"Well, so long as you two are cautious and please, call me Joyce. You too Xander," Joyce said. Buffy and I glanced at each other, and broke into giggles. Giles and Joyce looked confused, as did Xander.

"Erm, Buffy...didn't you say you had quit?" Giles asked. I frowned, looking at Buffy to see if Giles was lying.

"Buffy?" I asked, hoping I wasn't hearing what I was hearing.

"It was a heat of the moment thing Giles. Don't worry; I'll take on The Master. If I die, I die, but I'm planning on taking him with me if I do," Buffy said as I gripped her hand tightly. Dying was bad. No, no dying.

"Giles, there's gotta be something. Buffy can't die," I said, fear encasing my soul. Xander looked grim too.

"I'm sorry Willow, and Joyce. Every single prophecy in the Codex, throughout time, has come to pass. I have never heard of a single instance where it was defied," Giles said, sorrow in his voice.

"Well, I'm not one for following the rules myself. I love you Willow. I'm not leaving you, I never will," Buffy said, looking into my eyes. I smiled, but worry was still there and wouldn't go away until Buffy was safe, the Master was dead, and Buffy was back in my arms.

"We should erm, reconvene later tonight. The Master will send the Anointed One to lead you Buffy. Xander, I want you to find Angel. I want you two to follow Buffy when she faces The Master. For the love of God, don't get involved though. Just make sure that Buffy is alright," Giles said. I looked at him confused, as did Buffy, and Xander. Joyce seemed to understand where Giles was going, making me a little angry.

"Wha-" I began but Giles cut me off. I glared at him, and stood up with help from Buffy. Xander got up as Joyce led us out of the library. Giles remained alone, wiping his glasses.

"I really hope my plan works," he muttered to himself before heading into his office.
