Dead Prophets

[reviews]

Things go up and then go down. Then repeat in a constant motion. That's how Andrew's health had been lately. He would progressively be getting better, and then all of sudden w/o warning, he would hit rock bottom again. Through it all, Dawn was there. Taking care of him, making sure he was comfortable, loving him. It was this dedication and devotion that made Buffy give her blessings towards the wedding. It was what had Anya shaking every present at the bachelorette party here in Willow's old apartment. It was what had Dawn debating on what to give Andrew for a bride to groom present.

"What do you think of this one?" Dawn held up a picture of her and Andrew w/ Boba Fett at the Star Wars convention they attended that summer.

"Oh...um...it's okay." Buffy wasn't sure where this was going. Dawn was debating on giving Andrew a Star Wars themed wedding reception.

"I know it's nerdy, Buffy...but I just want to give him something he'll never forget." Dawn put the pictures down on the table, and leaned back on the U couch beside her sister.

"I think you already have, Dawnie." Buffy smiled. Her little sister had grown up...when did that happen?

"Thanks, Buffy." Dawn sighed, and took a look around at all of her guests. Friends from college, a few of Andrew's girly friends, her friends from high school...and all of her friends through her sister. "I think he'll really love it, and will be totally surprised. And it's not like I don't like Star Wars. I really do...it's just..."

"Dawn, listen to me. Whatever you decide, he'll love it...b/c he loves you. You have to remember that this is your wedding, too." Buffy started playing w/ her sister's hair. She hadn't done that in years.

"I just...it's hard...not knowing how long..." Dawn didn't have to say anything. Buffy knew now. It was hard on her, too...to watch her sister have to deal w/ death at such a young age. She'd tried to shield her from it. Protect her from the bad things in the world. "Okay, I'm gonna do it. Let me just call..."

"Not tonight. Tonight, you're celebrating. No calls. They can wait until tomorrow." Buffy took the phone from her sister, who just got that 'hey' face. While Dawn pouted, Buffy turned her gaze over to Willow. Her wife was currently trapped b/n another group of Dawn's friends that wanted autographs and meeting w/ the artists on her label. Willow was trying to be polite but her eyes said 'save me' to whoever could see her. Buffy just smirked. All this talk of wedding stuff made her remember her own wedding and reception to Willow. It was magickal. Beautiful....exhilarating. Just like everyday she was w/ Willow. It was always an adventure.

They'd been back together for two months now, and it was hard to believe they'd been apart for almost six months. Through her reminiscing, Buffy was glad that Dawn had moved in w/ Andrew a couple months ago b/c the apartment was empty. Buffy decided that she would reminisce w/ Willow in this very apartment later when everybody left.

"Buffy, are you even listening to me?" Dawn...oh...Buffy had forgotten about Dawn. She was too wrapped up in Willow...like always. "Of course you weren't. I swear...you two..."

"What? I happen to have the hots for my wife still. Can you blame me?" Buffy smiled as Willow finally escaped the clutches of the evil fans, and made her way over to the couch.

"Oh, gods...if I never hear 'can you get Glory's autograph for me' again, it'll be way too soon." Willow landed on the couch on the other side of Buffy, immediately flinging her legs over her wife, who just wrapped her arms around them, holding the redhead closer to her.

"Well...look at this way. At least a portal hasn't opened." Buffy loved teasing her wife. It was like a sport.

"Haha...see me laughing?" Willow cocked an eyebrow, and Buffy just wrapped her other arm around her waist, pulling Willow completely atop her lap. "So...what's what, Dawnie? Are you nervous yet?"

"Not so much nervous as worried." Dawn would go to this place...where she remembered that Andrew could die at any minute. It hurt her...but she loved him, and didn't want to let that fact get in the way of their relationship. She would marry this man. AIDS be damned.

"Why worried?" Willow started playing w/ Buffy's arm that was on her legs. She'd trace little patterns, and loved when Buffy would squirm, indicating that the redhead was having a major arousal effect on her wife just by gentle touches.

"Just...it's like...I don't know. I've never been married before. A couple years ago, I was dating big Frankenstein like men. Now, I'm getting married to a prissy nerd."

"It is quite the 180. I'll agree w/ you there. I don't miss Adam, though. Andrew and you are good together. You and Adam were just..." Willow looked at Buffy, and chose not to mention her sister and the 'sex' word.

"Don't wanna know...don't wanna know..." Buffy shook her head, trying to clear the bad, bad images.

"Why don't you open your presents before Anya breaks something?" Willow turned their attention to the present table, where Anya was currently trying to find a hole in the bottom of a box.

"That's good idea." The three of them moved over, and gathered everybody around Dawn.

"This is extremely suspenseful. I want the presents." Anya was way too excited.

Dawn opened her first present...the one from Buffy and Willow. It was a nice silk dress that she could wear on her cruise honeymoon. This was just the minor present from her sister and wife, though. Buffy and Willow had a big surprise planned for the littlest Summers.

"Oh...it's beautiful. Thank you guys." Dawn smiled that sunny Dawn smile.

"Well, we thought you'd get lots of lingerie, other silly stuff." Buffy took Willow's hand in hers.

"Yeah, so we figured...less silly, more frilly." Willow beamed. She'd had the dress sent to her from Paris. One of her acts was on a European tour right now, so she had the tour manager shop for her.

"Gotta look." Anya grabbed the dress from Dawn, and just held the material as though it were the greatest thing in the world. "Oh, it's just so lovely. Oh, I wish it was mine!" Off the looks from everybody in the room, she replied, "Oh, like you weren't all thinking the same thing."

The rest of the evening went okay...big hugs and happiness all around the room, friends gathered together. The wedding was in a week, so who knew what would happen? The reception place was taken care of thanks to Willow...the Bronze. The music was taken care of thanks to both Willow and Faith...who pitted the band for a small gig. The only thing was the decorations...and that was going to be taken care of tomorrow. For now, it was time for fun.

------------------

"Oh...this is nice." Willow relaxed against the hottub. She had a little too much wine, so she didn't mind staying at the old apartment.

"Very nice." Buffy had no arguments. They were naked in a hottub...no arguments at all.

"I'm glad you thought of this..." Willow floated over to Buffy, straddling her lap...the pressure jets putting a little more fun to the mix.

"Me, too." Buffy was more than happy that Dawn never used this part of the apartment. She'd stayed in Faith's old room, claiming the ick factor involved of sleeping in a bed her older sister had sex in. LOL.

"I'm getting pruny...wanna move to the bed?" Willow was beyond aroused. She was aroused the moment Buffy said 'let's stay here tonight, reminisce.' No arguments were made.

"Sounds good to me." Buffy had a plan. She was ready to pop...one touch from Willow, and she knew she's pop. The sex had never been better these past two months, and it only seemed to get better and better each time.

"Let's take Elita, and go to the cabin this weekend. A little family vacation, since the leaves have fallen. The colors are pretty around the lake this time of year." It was the day after Thanksgiving. They were stuffed to the core...and a little tipsy from the wine at the party. Elita was staying w/ Xander tonight, so the trip down memory lane was no problem.

"That sounds great. We'll leave Friday, then." Buffy kissed Willow, rubbing her hands all over her wife's damp back. "Oh...I know...let's play a board game."

"Huh?" Before Willow had time to register what was happening, Buffy had hopped out of the hottub, ignored the towel, and dripped her way back to the bedroom. Willow got out, and dried off first before following the water trail.

"Go ahead, and get in the bed. I'll be there in a minute." Buffy had gone to the game room, looking for a specific board game, and a hidden piece of cardstock before writing something down on it, and cutting it to fit the shape. Sticking it in the ready envelope, she took the boardgame back to the bedroom. "Clue! We haven't played this in forever."

"Oh, you were really serious about playing a game." Willow was distraught. She was verging on the edge of frustration already from all the wait. She wanted Buffy NOW.

"Set up the board, and I'll be right back." Buffy dried off, keeping an eye on her wife, who was sorting all the cards on the bed. Coming back in, both of them played naked Clue.

It took all of seven minutes before Willow finally figured out the answer...but w/ a little confusion. After all, Clue is meant for more than two players if it's gonna be difficult. Buffy knew this...and she knew her wife would be confused at the answer, too.

"Okay, I'm gonna guess but something doesn't make sense." Willow sighed...she had seen every room card. She was sure of it. Oh, well...she wanted to know what was going on anyways, so she guessed, not really caring that she'd lose. "It's Miss Scarlet w/ the Rope in the Lounge."

As Willow went for the envelope, Buffy got out of the bed, digging for the thing she knew would be there.

"Wait...okay, I don't think this card is right. It's Miss Scarlet w/ the rope in the bed...oh." Willow looked up to see Buffy holding a rope. "You're a vixen, you know that? Here I thought you really wanted to play a boardgame instead of make love...even though the tension in the..."

Willow was stopped by Buffy's passionate kisses, and they moved back on the bed, tossing the game and its pieces wherever they went. Willow didn't care. Buffy was really, really, really turning her on right now w/ her clever little trick. She could always buy another Clue.

"Mmm...so...wanna show me how Miss Scarlet used that rope in the bedroom?" Buffy took the soft rope cord, and placed herself under Willow. The redhead wasted no time... She would maintain her status as the Clue master...
