Chapter 5

[reviews]

Tara helped get Buffy upstairs and into bed before leaving Willow alone with her. She knew everything was going to be ok between the two. Willow layed next to the sleeping Buffy and smiled down at her. Even in her dreams Buffy would smile. Willow was so exhausted, she could hardly keep her eyes open. She fought the sleep that was trying to overtake her, she didn't want to sleep until she knew Buffy was going to be alright. She almost killed Tara. Willow had taken a turn for the dark place once again, and it scared her. What was even worse that trying to murder her ex ,she had done the unthinkable and attempted to kill Buffy. The one she loved. She knew that she would do anything in her power to try and make up for it, she just didn't know how.

Over the next few weeks Willow had tried making it up to Buffy by serving her breakfast in bed and if at all possible was even more dotingly than before. She refused to let Buffy leave the house until she was fully recovered from their bout of domestic trouble. Finally Buffy had enough and put her foot down. "Alright Wills, you know what I really want?" Willow smiled curiously. "I want to go back to my job, and start slaying again. I was back to my full strength a week ago, I 'm better than ever."

"But..."

"No Buts, or I'll kick yours." Willow smiled moving closer to Buffy. "Understand?" Willow nodded leaning her head on Buffy's shoulder.
Moments later The phone rang, Buffy answered it slightly miffed at the loss of cuddling. She couldn't believe it. After years of waiting, She was awake. Buffy hung up the phone and ran back to tell Willow who was at the sink scrubbing the grease and grime from the pots and pans. Willow pressed the speed dial to Xander's house, Then to Tara, Then to Lane who wasn't Answering her Cell phone. "Are you sure?" Willow asked again in the car. Xander had offered to drive them in the van because he knew neither Buffy or Willow were in any state to drive. Anya and Tara were with them, along with Xander's three kids trailing behind in there own cars, this was a big event. No one knew how it happened, but somehow Willow and Buffy's daughter was awake.By all medical standards it was impossible, a miracle even.

The girl tried to sit up,unsuccessfully. Blinking her eyes trying to adjust to the light. Last time she saw herself she was twenty one, the Doctor's refused to tell her how long she had lost. They thought it would be easier to hear it from her parents .She wasn't even sure what happened. She reached for the water the nurse had handed her, taking small sips thru the straw. After a few more trys she was able to sit up. Thank god one of her mother's was a slayer, the strength and endurance had finally kicked in.
Then like a flood she the memories of her what had happened hit her. The fight and her plan, everything. She found the strength and stood up heading for the door. Just as she was about to exit the Doctor came in and tried to stop her. "Get off me!" She kicked him and sent him flying into the wall, at least her reflexes were fine. "Did you call them, did you tell them I was awake?" The Doctor nodded clutching his stomach, she grinned and knocked him out cold. "Good." she walked to the closet and found her old clothes, they still fit, even after growing up on the Hellmouth she thought it was a little odd.

"Today is going to be a long day for them indeed." She smiled and opened her wallet to reveal the name. "Layla Summers-Rosenberg is back."
