Chapter 4

"Willow is that you in there I kinda have something to tell you," Tara said slowly moving into Willow's dorm closing the door behind her. It had been a week since Willow had talked to Buffy on the phone and she had barely talked to any of them.

"What?" Willow said still not looking at Tara and averting her gaze out the window.

"Willow I-I need to tell you something," Tara said again.

"You already said that," Willow said clutching the pillow she had in a death grip.

"Willow please all I need you to do is listen," Tara said walking a little farther into the room.

"Fine," Willow said giving in to Tara.

"Okay first of all you need to know. I know you like Buffy, and I know she likes you , and I can't step between that," Willow looked like she was ready to talk so Tara held up her hand and continued, "Also there is something else. When I was attacked it wasn't by Buffy it was a couple of vamps and they told me to say it was Buffy."

Willow went over to Tara and wrapped her in a hug, "Tara why didn't you just tell me?" Willow asked.

"I wanted to but they told me if I told they would kill me," Tara said starting to cry.

"Tara don't worry they can't get you," Willow said in a soothing voice, "Did they say anything else?"

"They said something about taking the slayer when you guys had pushed her away," Tara said keeping her head buried in Willow's neck.

"Do you know who they were or what they looked like?" Willow asked stroking Tara's back.

"One was a girl, the other was a boy. The girl was talking to herself and was really creepy. The guy had blond hair, a leather jacket, and his hair was slicked back," Tara explained trying to remember everything.

Willow's eyes opened and closed in shock, 'Spike. No way. He wouldn't come back. Would he?'

An hour later Willow and Tara were following up a tracking spell to find Buffy and hopefully warn her. They followed the little blue sphere in silence following it every twist and turn. A warehouse loomed in front of them and Willow sighed having her worst fears confirmed.

"Tara you should know that those two vampires you saw have been in Sunnydale before," Willow started.

"Oh," was all Tara could say.

The two started to make there way to the front door and broke the lock using magic. They slowly walked in making sure not to make any sound. They moved up a rusty stair case to get a look at the whole warehouse. They looked over the railings of the catwalk and looked in horror at the scene below them. Buffy or what looked like Buffy was suspended from the ceiling by her ankles. She was covered in blood and all her clothes were stripped off.

"Oh my goddess," Tara says in shock.

Willow herself is fighting her reaction to vomit, and shakes her head to clear it up. The two slowly go back downstairs and constantly look around themselves. They come up to Buffy and see something shining in her hand. They back away thinking it was a weapon but when Willow gets a good look she sees its a necklace.

"Buffy?" Willow says softly moving her hand up to check Buffy's pulse. She lets out a sigh when she fines the faint traces of a pulse and starts to really look at the necklace in Buffy's hand, "Oh." Willow says seeing the inscription on the back of it.
