Part two

Buffy looked up as her first class of the day started filing in. smiling when she saw Xander, Cordy and Willow walk in.

"Good morning class, I trust that you have all done your homework." It wasn't a question.

Buffy was worried about how Willow, Cordy and Xander would treat her, after their night at the Bronze, but, it was Xander that put her at ease.

"Uh Miss Summers, I know you wanted a drawing of an umbrella, but forgive me if mine looks more like an over inflated pole, I can't draw."

A few students laughed at him, and Buffy gave him a small smile.

"That would be the point of taking my class Xander. To learn."

-----

Once again, it was a Friday night, and once again, Buffy was at the Bronze with Anya, this time minus her three students.

"Man I'm so glad this week is over."

Buffy smiled at her best friend and took a sip of her wine.

"What, you not make enough money or something?"

Anya groaned before sitting up and finishing her glass of wine. Luckily, she had ordered them both two each, though each knew Buffy would stop at one, leaving three for Anya.

"Everything was going great until yesterday. The shop next door sprung a gas leak and I had to close up early and had to stay shut all day today. Do you realise how much money I've missed?"

Anya was being serious, so Buffy tried not to laugh.

"Well look at it this way, Halloween is coming up, and you always do more business around then."

Anya perked up at that and finished her second glass of wine in one gulp before eyeing Buffy's untouched one.

Smirking, Buffy handed her the glass of wine she wasn't going to drink.

"You ever think you have a problem?"

Anya seriously considered Buffy's question.

"Not enough sex?"

"Wow, is this a bad time?"

Buffy groaned.

"No Xander, Anya was just being, well Anya."

Xander gulped but sat down at the table. He was on his own and looked kind of nervous.

"This is okay right?"

Buffy frowned at him and noticed the looks he was giving Anya.

"Why wouldn't it be?"

He fidgeted and avoided Anya's gaze.

Buffy looked between the two and couldn't miss the tension.

Standing up, she smirked when their gazes shot to her.

"I'm getting another glass of wine." she left them there together and headed to the bar, praying that Anya didn't seduce him there and then.

"Hey."

Buffy swung around to see Willow behind her.

"Are you lot moving around only in ones tonight?"

Willow frowned before following Buffy's line of sight and laughing.

"He's been going on about her all week."

Buffy looked back at the redhead in front of her, the one she was absolutely not having lusty wrong feelings for.

"Is that a good thing?"

Willow shrugged. "Depends on your friend."

Buffy snorted, knowing exactly what Anya would think of it.

Willow suddenly realised that she was talking to a teacher.

"Ah, I mean, he is eighteen so its totally legal."

Buffy sighed and turned around to order her drink.

Willow didn't know what to say next and settled for ordering a coke off the bartender.

"Your not even going to try to order something stronger?"

Willow shook her head no at Buffy.

"Me and alcohol don't mix. Bad things tend to happen."

Buffy smiled.

"That's one thing we have in common."

Willow blushed, causing Buffy to look away.

"We should probably go over and rescue Anya."

Buffy burst out laughing before pulling a confused Willow along behind her by the arm, trying not to notice the feel of the silky soft skin beneath her hand.

"You don't know Anya well enough, its Xander we'll be rescuing."

When they reached the table, Willow saw that Buffy was partly right.

Anya sitting in Xander's lap, and while he looked comfortable, both Buffy and Willow could tell that this was all new to him.

"Anya!"

Anya turned at the sharp tone of Buffy's voice and at the look on her friends face, she sighed before turning and kissing Xander hard on the mouth, then getting up and moving back to her own seat, leaving a panting teenager behind.

"Spoil my fun."

Buffy rolled her eyes before taking her own seat and moving over to make room for Willow.

"Anya, could you please act your age for once?"

Anya rolled her eyes at her friend, not noticing the closeness between the blonde and the redhead.

"Buffy I'm twenty five, that's not old."

Buffy sighed and took a sip of her wine.

Willow looked between them both, wanting to know the age of the blonde. It was Xander that made her wish come true.

"Your twenty five?"

Anya nodded her head.

"Yes, so I know all these positions that make orgas-" Buffy leaned over and covered Anya's mouth with her hand before glaring at her.

"Please stop."

Anya rolled her eyes, but winked at the wide-eyed Xander.

"Jesus Buff lighten up, your twenty four, not sixty."

Willow contained her glee. Buffy was only six years older, well six and a half considering that Willow was still on seventeen.

She didn't know when it happened, or how, but Willow had realised that she definitely had feelings for her blonde teacher. She just didn't know how she felt about them.

-----

Everyone at the table looked up when a shadow fell over the table.

"Hi there, would you like to dance?"

Buffy looked up at the girl asking her to dance before looking over at Anya, who was nodding her head quickly.

"Ah sure, why not."

Buffy set down her drink and let the tall brunette lead her onto the dance floor.

"I'm Claire by the way."

Buffy smiled and let her body move to the music.

"I'm Buffy."

-----

Back at the table, Willow and Xander were gawking at Buffy on the dance floor.

Anya noticed and got annoyed because Xander's attention had left her.

"Yes she's gay, get over it."

They both whipped around to face her, sheepish expressions on their faces.

Willow was glad for the distraction. Having to see Buffy dance with that other woman was doing unpleasant things to her insides.

-----

The best of the song changed from fast to slow, and Buffy wavered.

Claire had no problem with it however and put her arms around Buffy's waist.

"This okay?"

Buffy nodded her head yes and looped her own arms up over Claire's neck, each one moving slowly to the song.

-----

Willow gulped when she saw Buffy and the brunette dancing closer together and frowned looking back down at her coke.

Anya caught the frown out of the corner of her eye and turned to look fully at Willow, who see saw glance up at Buffy again.

Anya's eyes widened and her mouth opened when it all clicked.

-----

Willow found herself getting increasingly jealous watching Buffy dancing, if it could even be called that.

Standing, she excused herself to go to the bathroom, leaving Anya alone with Xander.

-----

When Buffy got back to the table, she found Willow gone, and Anya back in Xander's lap kissing and groping him.

Tapping her friend on the should to get her attention, Buffy asked where Willow had disappeared to.

"She said bathroom, but that was ages ago."

Buffy looked around the dance floor to see if she could see Willow, but there wasn't a redhead in sight. Looking back down at the two kissing, Buffy sighed and picked up her coat.

"Well I'm going to head home. Try not to wake me when you get in okay?"

Anya hummed her agreement against Xander's mouth.

Buffy shook her head at her friend and left them to it, praying that she didn't bump into Xander when she was eating her breakfast in the morning.

-----

Willow walked slowly home, cursing herself for leaving and not staying to see what had happened with Buffy and the girl.

It was stupid, she knew. She couldn't have a relationship with her teacher, there were laws against it.

Sighing she picked up her pace when it started to rain.

-----

Buffy slowed down her car when she spotted a figure walking in the rain. Pulling up along side Willow, Buffy rolled down her window and called out to the redhead.

"Hey Will, want a lift home?"

Willow turned around, a happy feeling filling her when she saw that Buffy was alone.

"Sure, thanks."

When she was in, Buffy pulled away from the curb and asked for directions to Willow's house.

"Its 1630 Revello Drive."

Buffy knew where it was and set off, turning the radio back up a little as she did.

"So, how come you left the club early?"

Willow shrugged and looked away.

Frowning, Buffy let the matter slide.

"So, what are the chances of me waking up to find Xander in my home tomorrow morning?"

Willow turned with her mouth open. Was Buffy interested in Xander as well?

Buffy saw the look and let Willow stew for a few seconds before laughing.

"Anya stays with me when she comes down at the weekends."

Willow let out a sigh that Buffy missed.

"Well, Xander is a teenage boy, so odds are, you might see him. It all depends on Anya."

Buffy sighed and rolled her neck.

"Guess that's one more for breakfast then."

The rest of the drive was made in silence, apart from the music drifting up from the radio, and that surprised Buffy. She usually didn't like being with people and not talking, yet with Willow, she found she was comfortable with it.

"Well here's you stop."

Willow smiled and thanks Buffy for the lift before getting out of the car.

"Hey Willow?"

Willow turned and look back at the blonde.

"Anya and I were going to go to the Carnival tomorrow, and I'm guessing that she is going to bring Xander, want to come and help me not be a third wheel?"

"Yeah, okay, what time?"

Buffy smiled and told her that she'd pick her up at ten in the morning.

"Okay then, night Buffy."

"Goodnight Willow."

Buffy frowned at herself as she drove home. She was getting those feelings again, and she couldn't have them, not for a student.

She could go to jail for gods sake.

Rubbing her eyes, she let herself into the house and went straight to her room before changing clothes and putting on a pair of sweats and a tank top and going into her studio.

Staring at the blank canvas before her, Buffy mixed her paints and began painting of the Victorian Ball she ad been asked to do.

She never even noticed, that as she drew the outline for one of the guests, that she had painted Willow into the picture.

Straightening her back, Buffy looked at her watch and saw the it was past four in the morning.

Drawing back, Buffy overlooked the painting so far, and that's when she saw it.

Right in the middle, dressed in a green ball gown, was Willow.

"Oh Shit."
