Part twenty nine

"Hey Willow."

Willow turned from talking to Andrew, to see Tara standing beside her.

"Hey Tara. This is Andrew." Willow smiled at her new friend and motioned to Andrew.

They hadn't met at the club, Tara had left before Andrew had gotten off stage, something about having a headache.

Hearing a car honk, she turned to see Buffy getting out, Anya with her.

Willow smiled, and watched as Buffy walked towards them, her hips swaying.

"Hey you."

Buffy gave her a kiss in greeting and smiled a hello at both Tara and Andrew.

Anya was about to do the same, when her cell rang.

Buffy wrapped an arm around Willow and pulled her close.

"How was classes?"

Willow smiled, and launched into a babble of her recent English Lit class.

Andrew openly stared as Buffy and Willow kissed again, so much so, Buffy was starting to get annoyed.

Before she could say anything about it though, Willow pulled her attention back to matters at hand.

"So, where are we going tonight?"

Buffy grinned and placed a small kiss on her lover's nose.

"That would be telling."

Laughing when Willow started pouting, Buffy shook her head no and wrapped an arm around her redhead, but turned so she could see the whole group.

As she met Tara's eyes, she paused, sure that she had seen jealously there for a second.

Shrugging, she turned her attention back to the redhead beside her.

"So, pool party? We had to cancel that time because of Lorne, but I think a party is just what he needs."

Willow's grin was agreement enough.

"Party?"

Buffy turned to Andrew, and sighed, knowing she would have to invite him.

"Sure, maybe you guys could play."

Willow nodded her head, and gestured to Tara.

"You want to come?"

Tara nodded and Buffy smiled at Willow's happy smile.

"Okay, our place, tomorrow at say noon? I've have cars pick you up, the house is kinda hard to find if you've never been before."

Tara and Andrew nodded, and Buffy kissed Willow goodbye before grabbing Anya, who was still talking to Xander on the phone.

"Later baby."

Willow grinned and echoed the sentiment.

"What will I wear?"

Willow and Tara rolled their eyes at Andrew after giving him a 'you're kidding look'.

-----

Buffy smiled when she saw that everything was ready.

"Okay, I'm going to collect Willow, the drivers have already left to pick up the others, what am I missing?"

Silence greeted her, but that was okay considering she was talking to herself.

Just as she was about to leave, the phone rang.

"Hello?... Hey stranger, what's up?"

-----

Willow smiled as she got into the car, leaning into Buffy to accept the kiss waiting on her lips.

"Mmm, missed you."

Buffy smiled and pulled away from the curb.

"I have a confession to make." Buffy bit her lip, not sure how Willow was going to react to what she was about to tell her.

Willow smiled and rested her hand on her lover's thigh.

"What is it?"

Buffy sighed and relaxed under the touch.

"I invited Faith."

Willow blinked before smiling.

"And you thought that would annoy me?"

Buffy frowned as she pulled the car into the lane they needed to be in.

"Not annoy... more like piss you off."

Willow frowned.

"They aren't the same thing?"

Buffy shrugged and flashed her lover a grin.

"Does this mean its okay?"

Willow smiled and squeezed the muscle under her hand.

-----

When Buffy and Willow arrived, a few of the drivers were pulling up, each limo holding one of their guests.

Tara was the first one to get out, followed by Gunn and Andrew, then a girl Willow didn't know.

"Fred!"

Buffy ran up and threw her arms around her friend, one which she hadn't seen in over three years, even though they talked all the time on the phone.

"Hey Buffy, god I missed you."

Willow was greeting Tara and heard the exchange.

Turning, she watched her lover's face light up.

"You have to meet Willow."

Grinning as she watched Buffy practically pull her friend over, Willow was soon wrapped up in a hug.

"Buffy has told me so much about you, I feel like I've know you for years."

Willow grinned and fixed her lover with a look, one the blonde knew well.

Tara meanwhile, was too busy staring a Fred, and missed Andrew calling her name.

Fred blushed when she realised the blonde she didn't know was staring at her, and Tara blushed in return when she realised she had been caught.

Sure, she had liked Willow, enough to be jealous when she saw the redhead with Buffy, but there was something about the brunette in front of her.

"Hi, I'm Tara."

Willow's mouth dropped open. Granted, she hadn't know Tara that long, but the blonde had always come across as shy.

Fred blushed as she accepted the blondes hand.

"Fred."

Buffy grinned and wrapped her arm tighter around Willow.

"Why don't we all go inside? The others should be here soon."

Willow smiled and led the way, breaking off from Buffy to go upstairs, telling her lover she was going to shower and would be right down.

Buffy's eyes glazed over, and she cursed the guests that made it impossible to go and join her lover.

As each new person arrived, Buffy greeted those she knew, smiling at those she didn't, knowing by their names that they were friends of Anya, Xander and Willow.

"Hello Buffy."

She turned with a big smile of her face to see Giles standing behind her.

"I'm so glad you agreed to come! How was the drive down?"

He grinned and she realised that he looked more relaxed than she remembered every seeing him.

"It was splendid, though that might have more to do with the car you sent to pick me up turning out to be a limo."

Buffy grinned and snagged a drink from a passing waiter. For a pool party, she had left nothing to chance, and hired people to make the day and night go smoothly.

Handing Giles a drink, she led him out to the back.

"Hey G-Man!"

Giles groaned and turned to see Xander behind him. He turned confused eyes to Buffy, wondering why a former pupil was at her gathering.

She read his look right, and was about to explain everything, when Willow appeared.

"Hey Mr Giles, gosh its so good to see you." Before he could react, he had his arms full of a redhead.

"Willow, its good to see you again as well." He threw Buffy a look, even more confused than before.

When Willow left him to greet the blonde with a kiss, his eyes nearly popped out.

Buffy, seeing that he was about to say something, pre-empted him.

"Giles, why don't we go talk for a minute." It was a question, though he nodded his head.

Buffy gave Willow a kiss and left them too it, knowing the Englishman was right behind her.

When they were alone, he spoke before she could.

"I always knew there was something going on between you two."

Buffy threw him a look.

"There wasn't, not really, not while she was underage, and still in school. We waited... well, tired to wait... for the big stuff." she paused. The man before her had become a good friend, and she didn't want him to think bad of them.

"I love her Rupert."

He met her eyes, before a soft smile graced his lips.

"Then I am happy for you."

She smiled, relieved.

-----

Willow walked up to them when they reappeared, figuring what had happened. When she saw the smile on Buffy's face, she grinned and held her hand out for her lover to take.

"More people have arrived, and they are asking for their host."

Buffy turned to see who Willow was talking about and squealed when she spotted a few people she knew well.

Willow grinned as she watched her lover run off to talk to her friends, and turned to Giles.

"So..."

He smiled, and Willow was put a ease at once.

"How is college like treating you?"

Willow smiled and launched into a babble on school life.

-----

Faith shifted as a waiter led her out to the back, not knowing how she was going to be excepted by everyone.

Ever since getting out of the clinic, she and Buffy had kept in touch, and she was glad she could call the blonde a friend.

She had just spotted her, when a redhead blocked her way.

Looking up she saw Willow in front of her.

"If you hurt her again, I will beat you to death with a shovel." At Faith's incredulous look, Willow smiled.

"A vague disclaimer is nobodies friend."

Buffy snorted, having heard the last bit and realised that Willow had told Faith in her own way to behave.

"Hey Faith."

Faith gave Willow a nod of understanding and accepted Buffy's hug.

"Hey, cool place."

Buffy grinned and snagged Lorne as he walked past them.

"Lorne, meet Faith. Faith, this is my cousin Lorne."
