Part four

Angelus watched as Willow grumbled to herself as she drank her blood.

"Where's Buffy?"

Finishing her last gulp, Willow turned to her 'brother'

"In our room reading."

Angelus paused before leaving, knowing something was wrong, but figuring that he would get more from his Sire.

-----

Buffy looked up when the door opened and closed, to see Angelus there with a mug of warm human blood.

Her demon came forward at the smell, and she set her book down.

Angelus handed her the cup, and took a seat beside her on the bed.

"So, what's up with you and Willow?"

Buffy ignored him and drank her meal.

"Sire?"

Buffy growled and set her cup down just a little to hard.

"You always play the Sire card Angel."

He grinned and flopped back on the bed.

"So?"

Growling, Buffy stood up and began pacing.

"She wants one of us to turn Xander."

Angelus' eyebrow rose.

"She wants the Whelp?"

Buffy threw him a look, but continued pacing.

"She wants her best friend with us, and hey, she seems to think I would agree to it, because well..."

"I'm here."

They both shared a look, each remembering when they were human together.

"Exactly."

He watched her pace, saw the lines on her forehead as her face crinkled in thought.

"Buffy."

She stopped and turned at the sound of his voice, which had taken on a serious tone.

"You realise that this isn't going to work? It was okay before, you were a souled Vampire, and Willow was the Slayer, but now, you're a souled Vampire, and Willow is a soulless one. Do you see where I'm going with this?"

Buffy closed her eyes. She could see his point.

"I'm not letting her go, she's mine."

He smirked and stood up, adjusting his shirt as he did.

"I wasn't suggesting that, but something has to give. I know you and Willow are mated Sire, you know as well as I, if not more, what that means in Vampire terms. You know what its like, the hunt, the kill. What happens in a few decades when she resents you for not letting her be a Vampire? What wouldn't you do for your Mate?"

He left her with that thought in her head and went back to his own room for a nap, happy that he had given his Sire something to think about, and hoping she took the route he wanted, and got rid of her soul.

-----

Willow opened the bedroom door gently. Her demon was screaming at her to go back to its Sire, while all of her was screaming for her Mate.

"Hey."

Buffy turned from where she was staring out the window at the garden pond below.

"Hey."

Willow sat down on the bed and waited for Buffy to join her, which she did after a few moments.

Buffy sighed when Willow buried her face in her neck, lightly licking the skin below.

"Will, I need to talk to you."

Willow gave her prize one last lick and pulled back, concentrating fully on her Sire, knowing this talk was going to be serious.

"Angelus... pointed out something I already knew, at least subconsciously."

Buffy paused and held Willow tighter.

"As long as I refuse to let you be a true Vampire, as long as I keep you from acting on your basic instincts... this isn't going to work."

Willow pulled back, panic in her eyes.

"No, you are not leaving me, we're mated... Remember!"

She pushed forward and sank her fangs roughly into Buffy's neck, drawing deeply three times before pulling back.

"Mine."

Buffy smiled sadly and leaned forward, licking the blood off Willow's lips.

"Yours."

Willow calmed down a little and pulled Buffy to her own neck, wanting claimed again by her Mate and Sire.

Buffy knew what her lover wanted, and she knew she would never tire of the sounds Willow made when she bit her childe... her Mate.

"Mine."

"Yours."

When they had both calmed down, Buffy lay down, pulling Willow with her.

"What I meant before was, that if we are going to make it, which we are, I refuse to let you go, then... we need to take some time apart. I don't want you to look back in years to come and hate me because I never let your true nature run free."

Willow blinked, then frowned, then blinked again.

"I wouldn't hate you."

Buffy half smiled.

"Yeah, you would. I know what its like, the freedom in the hunt..."

Buffy trailed off, lost in old memories which sickened her soul, and made her demon rejoice.

"How long?" Willow looked up sharply.

Buffy shook her head slowly.

"That's up to you."

Willow snuggled into her Sire and closed her eyes, enjoying the closeness.

"Where will you go?"

Buffy took a deep breath and looked up to the ceiling.

"Sunnydale."

Willow's head snapped up.

"Why there?"

Buffy cupped her Mate's cheek with her palm, leaning in and placing a small kiss on the corner of her lover's mouth.

"I already talked to Giles. The new Slayer wont be able to get there for another few months, training or something. It's the least I can do Willow."

-----

Buffy had been gone a month, the goodbye as bad as the first she shared with her family, this time she was also saying goodbye to her Mate.

She had taken on patrols on the Hellmouth, doing what she could to keep the demon population at bay until the new Slayer got there. She wondered where Faith was, but dismissed her as an afterthought.

In that month, Willow had embraced life as a Vampire, Angelus, Gunn, Penn and Wes showing her, teaching her. Doing the job her Sire should be doing.

They had all kept in contact, with Buffy, especially Willow. She either called them, or they called her, but they all talked at least twice a day.

Willow held back on the details of her new life, knowing that her lover would be torn hearing about them, wanting to be with them, and wanting to run as far as she could.

Willow felt the loss of her Sire keenly, though not as much as she felt the loss of her Mate. Thank god her lover was only a few hours away.

There would be the odd time when she could sense her nearby, knew that the others did too, but the blonde never showed herself.

-----

Buffy made her way to the watchers house, planning on letting him know that the demon he had been researching was dead, when she heard the commotion of a fight.

Turning her head, she followed the sounds of the fight into an alley.

"No... please... I'll give you anything..."

"There's only two things I want sugar."

Buffy saw the half naked young girl cornered in the alley, she only looked about fourteen, the bulky Vampire standing off to the side of her, stroking his cock.

"Mind if I interrupt?" Not waiting for a response, Buffy ran forward and snap kicked the other demon in the head.

"Who the hell are you?"

Buffy rolled her eyes and threw a look at the girl.

"You wanna get out of here?"

The girl gulped and took of, leaving Buffy alone with the pissed off vamp.

"You're a Vampire?"

Buffy vamped out and gave him a fangy smile.

"What do you think?"

He growled and charged, that was his mistake.

He ran right onto Buffy's stake, his eyes going wide before he exploded into dust.

Buffy wiped her hands clean, and turned to leave the alley, when a dozen humans landed in a circle around her.

As she took in their army facades, she frowned, before shaking off her demon.

"Is there a problem here?"

She never got an answer.

Sighing, she assessed the threat before her, knowing that they were all human, and that they were all male.

"Vampire."

Buffy turned her head towards the voice that had spoken, which was a mistake.

As the electricity raced through her, knocking her unconscious, her last thought was of her family, and the terror they would bring on these people.

-----

When she woke, all she could see was whiteness.

Squinting, Buffy searched the area around her... cage. There were three white tiled walls, and one class wall.

Walking towards it, she rested her hands on it, only to pull them back when a electric current ran through her body.

"This is gonna get old real fast."

-----

Willow sat by the phone, waiting for it to ring, like it hadn't rang in three days.

"Something's wrong."

Angelus nodded his head and reached for the phone.

"Who are you calling?"

He threw a look at the vamped Slayer.

"Giles."

-----

"Hello?" Giles paled when he heard the voice on the other end of the line.

"Giles where is Buffy?"

"Angelus... I was going to call, but Buffy wouldn't give me the number... she's missing... no-one has seen her for four days now."

Angelus cursed and slammed the phone down before turning to his family.

"Pack your bags, we are going to Sunnydale. Buffy's missing."

Willow vamped out and began growling as she raced around, grabbing up some weapons and her leather jacket.

"I'm ready." She was echoed by the rest, and within five minutes of Angelus making the call, they were on their way back to the Hellmouth.
