North and South...and West

Thanks Again!

[reviews]

William carved the turkey, while they each said what they were thankful for, and passed the food bowls around. It was a lovely meal; the harvest was good to them this year, much thanks to Will and Xander.

"I'm thankful for new family, and recoverin' health." Joyce raised her glass of champagne, and gripped Rupert's hand for comfort, something she'd been doing more lately. "I would like to thank Will for helpin' with the harvest this year, all of his smart ideas for the farm, and for makin' my Buffy truly happy at last."

"Oh, mama." Buffy couldn't help it. When Willow came in the bedroom to tell her about Joyce's apology, the blonde couldn't believe it. Her mother was back to health, and they could move back into the house from the slave quarters now.

"Now, William and Forrest will help you two move back into the house tonight. From my understanding, you've been staying in the slave quarters." Joyce accepted the turkey from her son, and kissed his cheek in thanks. "It all looks lovely. You've all done a wonderful job. Thank you."

"Are you sure it's a good idea movin' these two back in the house? Have you not heard them all the way from the quarters?" Dawn raised her eyebrows. Hearing the two newlyweds make love every night brought back memories, and just reminded her even more that her beloved husband was really gone.

"I'm sure they'll work on volume..." Joyce eyed her daughter and new husband with an amused glare.

"Yes, Mama." Buffy scooted her chair closer to Will, trying to keep it nonchalant but Mary noticed, and couldn't hide the smirk. Their blushes were too cute.

"I'm thankful for freedom...not just mine but my family, wherever they may be, and I's thankful for good friends that lets us stay and work with them." Mary was the last to say her thanks, and they all dug into their food with gusto.

"I still find it hard to believe..." Willow held Buffy in her arms, their naked skin still humming approval against each other.

"Find what hard to believe?" Buffy wrapped her arm around Will's torso, and drew patterns across the glistening freckles.

"Your mother. It's like a complete turn." The redhead started playing with the sweat-soaked blonde locks, and kissed Buffy's forehead every once in a while.

"Well...I think Giles has a lot to do with it. I'm sure he's been talkin' to her. They were sweethearts once before Mama got married to father. At least that's what the rumors say but you know how rumors work..." Buffy kissed Will's shoulder, and started to run her hand up and down the redhead's toned stomach. "Still...they seem like old sweethearts. I'm sure there's some truth behind the rumors."

"I can see that he's sweet on your mother. That much is obvious."

"And Mama seems sweet on him. Well, she does now. She wouldn't have anything to do with him when we were growin' up, especially after Dawn was born." Buffy smirked when she felt the familiar change in Willow's breathing. "Like that, huh?"

"Mmhmm..." Willow just bit her bottom lip in attempt to keep quiet. She wasn't the one that was loud usually; Buffy was the one that was the screamer.

"Well...ya know...we don' have much work to do tomorrow..." Buffy leaned up, and straddled Willow's waist. "I'd say as long as we keep quiet..."

"Mmhmm..." Willow accepted the smoldering kiss from her wife.

A/N: I'm kinda doing little spurts as I find time. Hope you don't mind. There's a big story here that I'm just starting to set up.
