Hear Me

[reviews]

A/N: thanks for the suggestion, it's just the song I was looking for for this chapter :D Oh, and btw, let me know if you want more, because I've actually found a couple of songs I would like to use in a fanfic, but I can always write another songfic if I want to use 'em that badly :D - L.

Buffy stepped into the now quiet room. As soon as the door had opened, both Willow and Xander visibly tensed, waiting for the worst. She shut the door, and leaned against it, letting her body finally rest for a second as she shut her eyes.

"I think that's my cue to go." Xander said as he stood up.

"No, wait, what did you need in the first place? Sorry I distracted you." Willow asked him.

He waved his hands in an it-was-nothing gesture. "Ah, don't worry about it. You guys should...talk. I'll figure it out on my own." And with that he let himself out of the door Buffy had just been leaning against. Now she was halfway sitting on the desk, her arms crossed in front of her.

"Hear me
Hear me

You gotta be out there
You gotta be somewhere
Wherever you are
I'm waiting
'Cause there are these nights when
I sing myself to sleep
And I'm hopin' my dreams
Bring you close to me
Are you listening?"

"I -" Buffy started, before she was cut off by an anxious Willow.

"Listen Buffy, before you say anything, let me get this out." She took a deep breath before she continued. "I know that you probably never will love me, or forgive me for that matter, but I had to tell you, I couldn't keep something that big between us, and I hope we can still be friends, especially since even though Xander had a thing for you all those years you were still friends with him, and I know that its different because I'm a girl and youre a girl, but that shouldn't really matter right?" Willow babbled out, not stopping once to catch her breath.

"Hear me
I'm cryin' out
I'm ready now
Turn my world upside down
Find me
I'm lost inside the crowd
It's getting loud
I need you to see
I'm screaming for you to please
Hear me
Hear me

Hear me
Can you hear me?
Hear me"

Buffy stared at her best friend. Yes, that's right, even after everything Buffy still considered Willow to be that. If not more now. She started again. "I, listen Will, I will always love you, and I could never hate you." She paused waiting for Willow to take that in.

"But not love as more than a friend, right? I mean-"

"I used to be scared of
Letting someone in
But it gets so lonely
Being on my own
No one to talk to
And no one to hold me
I'm not always strong
Oh, I need you here
Are you listening?

Hear me
I'm cryin' out
I'm ready now
Turn my world upside down
Find me
I'm lost inside the crowd
It's getting loud
I need you to see
I'm screaming for you to please
Hear me"

"Let me finish." Buffy cut her off. She took an even deeper breath than Willow, and went to sit on the bed next to her. In Willow's mind this was more than just a little bit of positive encouragement. "I love you Willow. And not just as a friend, but I don't know how I would be able to stand it if I were to lose you and we were more than just friends. I love you like a soulmate, and I don't know if you feel the same for me, but I couldn't stand to lose the person I consider my soulmate and my best friend at the same time. So if we start this-"

I'm restless and wild
I fall, but I try
I need someone to understand
Can you hear me?
I'm lost in my thoughts
And baby I've fought
For all that I've got
Can you hear me?

Hear me
I'm cryin' out
I'm ready now
Turn my world upside down
Find me
I'm lost inside the crowd
It's getting loud
I need you to see
I'm screaming for you to please
Hear me
Hear me
Hear me
Hear me
Can you hear me?
Hear me
Hear me
Hear me
Can you hear me?
Oh, oh, oh, oh...
Hear me
Hear me
Hear me"

"Yeah, we have to be extra careful with it. We have to make it work. I understand." Willow said as she leaned in for the first kiss of their new relationship. She pulled back slightly, "I hear you loud and clear." She said before she began kissing the blonde again, with more passion than she knew was possible to pour into a kiss.

The End (for now?)
