The Simple Black Dress

A huge curiosity has risen in me since I've started posting stories here. I've always been told women can't write action/adventure stories since they (women writers) always want to focus and frame it in the terms of the romance aspect of it. Everything is secondary to that. As an admirer of strong female characters, which Buffy certainly is, and Willow is in her own way, I was drawn to using them as the vehicle in my little experiment, a girl trying to write action/adventure.

In the stories I've posted here, which are of the action/adventure/romance genre I have tried to down play the romance aspect and to emphasize the peril and adventure. I see myself slipping into wanting to write more about the love and the relationship of the heroines. I do want them to be in love, and I do want them to do what two girls in love would do but I'm trying hard not to let it overpower the rest of the story. I'm not sure I've succeeded.

Here's what I would like to know from the female readers of my stories. Will you take the time to give me input, or advice (I know no one would deliberately try to make me feel bad) on how successful I have been? I REALLY am interested in your thoughts. Ladies, give me your advice. I promise not to be offended so if you have thoughts post it in the 'REVEIWS' of my story.
