Something Pink

I hated to disturb these two, but I needed to use the bathroom. I got Mom to help me put a pillow down, so I wouldn't be totally missed. She covered up Dawnie as I did the same for Willow before running upstairs. As I passed Faith's room, the door was slightly ajar, so I peeked inside.

Tara was straddling Faith's butt giving her a massage. She must have had a hard one last night, maybe I'll see if she wants some help tonight. I know I could use a night of slaying now that I know Willow is okay. Although, I won't go unless she is comfortable with it.

I headed back downstairs to grab something to eat. Mom was in the kitchen making herself some hot chocolate as I looked in the fridge and found sandwich fixings. After putting two sandwiches together, I sat on a stool at the kitchen island just staring at Mom.

"What?" she asked half smiling.

"Mom, I know my calling has caused some problems between us, and I know you love Willow the same as Dawn and I, but are you okay with me, Willow and the baby? I'm only asking because of the way Giles reacted, and I just want to make sure you're happy with the situation," I explained before polishing off the first sandwich.

"Buffy, I won't lie and say I'm not worried about it, but I am happy for the both of you. Rupert, for some reason, is thinking like a Watcher instead of the father he has become to you kids. I'm sure he'll come around, but until then, Tara, Faith, Dawn, and I will make sure you both are always safe," Mom said as I started to cry.

Mom came around the island wrapping me up in a hug. She took us outside to avoid disturbing anyone. I think everything that has been happening has led to my breaking down in Mom's lap with my arms wrapped around her waist. She just let me get it all out as she ran her fingers through my hair like she did when I was little.

When we got back inside, Mom had her arm around me, and the second sandwich I made was being eaten by Faith. I was about to go after her when Mom directed me back to the fridge. I made another sandwich, and after putting the stuff away, I handed Faith a water.

"So B, after lunch do you want to spar a little?" Faith asked as I smiled and nodded. I figure I can get a couple shots in for stealing my sandwich and work out some Giles issues too.

We started out just circling each other. I tried to distract her like I used too, but she wasn't biting. I threw a wild haymaker that she easily ducked. Faith then attacked me with a right, right, left combo followed by a leg sweep that I avoided, but she landed a quick right handed thrust that caught me in the chest knocking the wind out of me.

I landed flat on my back with my lungs burning trying to get my breath back. Faith was beside me in a instant as I heard the back door whip open in between Faith's apologies. I knew then that Faith and I were going to need to set up a training schedule.

By the time Willow and Tara made it over, Faith had already helped me up still apologizing. I kept trying to tell her it was okay, but it didn't stop her. I'm really not that surprised that Faith got the better of me considering since graduation, I have patrolled, but have been laxing on the training.

Faith sat me down on the couch as Willow sat beside me as Tara handed me a water. I looked up at Mom who was smiling knowing what she told me earlier was true. After I finished my water, I laid my head in Willow's lap as Faith and Tara followed Mom back into the kitchen.
