Chapter 3

[reviews]

I am really sorry guys, I just moved and been dealing with a butt load of family...stuff. Hope you guys enjoy and once again review :D

Everyone sat or stood where they were. Xander, Anya, Giles, Tara, Faith, Dawn, and Buffy didn't move a muscle. Dawn was the first, she got up off the floor and ran to Willow.

Giving her a big, but careful, hug she smiled. "Willow oh my god I missed you so much. Where have you been? When did you get back? Is that your kid?" Dawn would have kept going but Joyce gave her a small pull and she stopped.

"I've been a lot of places, got in a couple days ago, and yes. This is Dylan, my daughter."

Silence.

Joyce could sense what was going to happen, either a big blow out or more uncomfortable silence. Turning towards Willow she saw her trying to stay strong. "Willow, Dylan and I will be in the kitchen if you need us." Leaving no room for discussion she took Willow into the kitchen so she could breath.

"I think this was a bad idea." Her voice shook with fear as well as her whole body. Dylan began to feel this and also became very uncomfortable, crying into her mothers shoulder. "Maybe we should leave."

"NO, you are my daughter and I will not let this happen." Taking another breath she said, "Let's go outside for some air though." With a smile and a nod both women went outside and sat on the bench trying to calm there nerves.

In the living room everyone felt as though a ghost had just walked in the room. Everyone saw her, Willow. In those arms was her daughter. Willow had a baby and they didn't know, nobody knew. Everyone just sat there trying to comprehend everything. Confusion and lost were the main emotions with little processing really going on. Dawn spoke up first. "Uh, guys? Didn't we all want her to come back?" No one replied. "Well, I know I did and I'm not going to let her go away again." Turning she headed towards the kitchen then to the back yard.

Sitting down next to Willow and the crying Dylan she smiled. "I missed you Will." Tears on the edge of spilling.

"I missed you so much Dawnie." She leaned forward and hugged the now much bigger girl. Both girls gave a small laugh after when Dylan began to wiggle. Dylan clung to Willow, not used to other people she was slightly scared. Willow rubbed her back as she tried to calm Dylan down.

"Is she ok?" Dawn was concerned, she had never really been around kids and didn't know much about anything involving them.

"She's just not used to being around people. Give her time and she'll be your best friend." Best friend. She used to have one of those. In fact she was in the other room.

Time went by. The people in the living room talked for a bit, trying to understand the situation. Xander was being a guy and wouldn't talk with Willow just yet, not after leaving him the way she did. Anya let him go and went out back too, saying hello to Willow before leaving back to the magic shop. Anya was working there and didn't like leaving the money unattended.

Dawn and Dylan began to play on the grass. Joyce and Willow sat back and watched them. Tara had broken up with Willow, that was because of the magic her girlfriend at the time did to her. Made her forget the problems they had. Now she was back and with a child. She couldn't just leave without saying goodbye.

Faith on the other hand had always liked Willow and would have done anything to help her. Now she had mixed feelings. This was her girlfriends ex, but she had always known there was something about Willow that was special. Just like with Tara, both were special to her but only one was for her. Tara was now her one and only. After coming to Sunnydale after Buffy was resurrected to help with everything. She had showed up right after Willow left and seen the heart ache the redhead infected on everyone.

Getting up Faith knew Buffy could hear her as she whispered purely for Buffy, "I know how you feel. Don't let her get away again." Leaving she went out back and sat next to Willow. They apologized to one another and agreed to talk more this time around.

Tara soon followed and hugged Willow, saying she was sorry but hoping everything was ok. Willow remained calm and said the two of them were fine. Faith and Tara soon left. Giles just left. Leaving Buffy alone in the living room.

Joyce came back inside for drinks and saw Buffy sitting in the same spot, looking in the same direction. Walking over she sat next to her daughter. "Buffy, come outside." When her daughter didn't respond she tried again. "I know how you feel Buffy, but she needs you. Just like you need her." Getting up she made the drinks and went back outside. Handing everyone a drink she sat back down.

Dylan came back and sat on her mothers lap. She needed help to drink from a glass without a lid and helped her girl take a few drinks. The four of them sat back and talked, mostly about Dylan or work. Those two were safe enough subjects.

After a few more minutes and no Buffy made Willow feel a little uneasy. Deciding she should head home she said goodbye to the two Summers' women and took Dylan back to the car. As she buckled her daughter in she saw the one she was most nervous about. Coming towards the car, hugging herself.

"Hey Buffy," Willow's voice soft and mousy like. Closing the back door she stood against her car and waited for whatever might come from her once best friend.

"I, um, would you mind if I came with you? I mean, I really want to talk with you. Find out how both of you are doing... if that's ok," her voice not that of the slayer, but a scared girl waiting for rejections.

Deciding it wouldn't hurt she nodded her head and walked around to the driver seat. Both girls got in and buckled up before Willow turned the car around and drove home. The entire ride was made in silence. Pulling into the driveway both girls got out. Willow lifted Dylan from her booster and carried her into the house. Once down, Dylan ran upstairs.

Buffy and Willow sat on the couch. Silence echoed through the room until Willow spoke. "So Buffy, wh-what did you want to know?" She knew the answer. Everything. Her friend wanted to know everything.

"Magick?" She was scared of her, that's what Willow thought as that word came out.

"Well, I was bad. Really bad. So I left and got trained. I can't quit but I learned to control it in a different way. In a safe way. I still use it but not around Dylan and only in small doses."

"Oh, good," looking down at her hands she spoke again. "How have you been?"

That was a harder question than the magicks. "Well I was really bad for a long time." Her eyes glazed slightly as memories flashed before her eyes, sending a shiver down her spine. "Until almost three years ago." The image of her first sonogram came through in her mind. The picture of a baby inside her and the first time she held her child in her arms always came through the clearest.

"Will, I'm so sorry about what I..." before she could finish Willow put her hand up to stop the rampage her friend would go off in.

"Buffy you did what you needed to. I do not blame you for anything. It was my choice to leave and I did." She wasn't going lie and say it was for the best. In truth her choice wasn't the best. Not once had she regretted having Dylan, she loved her little redhead and wouldn't change that for the world. It was all the other choices she regretted.

"I missed you. So much Wills." Buffy's voice was still small with a slight shaking, just like the one Willow used to used back in high school.

"I missed you so much Buffy." Both girls were near tears as Willow opened her arms. Buffy leaned forward, wrapping her arms tightly around the hacker. Buffy sat there crying into her friends shoulder. All her pain coming out for the first time since her Willow had left.

The redhead cried too. Knowing she was the cause of so much pain and suffering to her friend. She sat there, holding tightly to her Buffy. Trying her best to comfort and reassure her. Buffy still had a hard time believing that Willow was back. Back home. Here with her right now, at this moment. So she held on for dear life, praying that if it was all just a dream she would never awake.

The two girls sat there crying until it seemed that Buffy had cried herself to sleep. Carefully Willow adjusted herself so she could get up, she needed to check on Dylan. Letting Buffy lay. Looking down she smiled at her friend. She had missed her, more than anyone else. Buffy was the first person who chose her over everything else.

Making her way upstairs she quietly opened her daughters' door and found the girl hiding under her blankets. Walking in she gently pulled the sheets back and saw her Dylan lying curled up in a ball crying. Picking up her baby girl she sat down on the bed with Dylan in her arms.

Dylan was a sensitive girl, always unsure of what to do and usually ended up crying. Trying to comfort her girl she cuddled and kissed her until the tears finally stopped. Dylan soon fell asleep in her arms. Willow was waiting a few more minutes until moving Dylan back under her blankets. When she was sure her redhead was in a deeper sleep she moved and laid Dylan on her back. Covering up her baby she tucked her in and kissed her forehead.

Standing there she watched her sleep for a few more minutes. Dylan was a cute baby. She was so smart and aware of so much, even if she couldn't exactly express it all. Kissing her one more time she left, closing the door most of the way. Walking back downstairs she saw Buffy still lying there, but her body kept jerking. Moving back she carefully adjusted Buffy so her head was resting on her lap. Gently moving her hair so she could watch the face of her friend she slowly drifted off as well.

Buffy's first sensation was that of calmness. Something she had not experienced these long four years. Opening her eyes she saw little Dylan standing there, watching her. Slowly getting off the couch she looked back at Willow who was still asleep. Deciding she could help the little one for awhile she put her hand out for Dylan to take. Dylan looked at her hand then back to her smile and finally took her hand.

Buffy lead the child to the kitchen, figuring she was probably hungry. Wanting to be quiet so Willow could still sleep she lowered herself to Dylan's height. "Are you hungry?" Rubbing her belly she tried to talk with her.

"Juice please." Looking around in the fridge she quickly found the juice containers and pulled one out as well as a bottle of water. Opening the container she handed it to the girl. She quickly drank her juice while Buffy sipped on her water. Once her container was empty she lifted it for Buffy to take. "Done, thank you." Taking the empty beverage she threw it out and returned to Dylan.

Thinking she could entertain a two year old she bent over again. "Do you want to play?" Dylan gave an excited nod before lifting up her hand. Gladly Buffy took it and let little Dylan lead the way. Going up the stairs to Dylan's room Buffy was quickly amazed at everything she had. All the newest gadgets for learning were in this room. Dylan quickly started showing Buffy her toys and the two quickly became engrossed in the games.

It wasn't long until Willow woke up. Quickly looking around she heard Buffy and Dylan laughing upstairs. Smiling she made her way upstairs. Peeking in the doorway she watched Buffy play with her daughter. It made her smile watching the two she cared most about getting along. Deciding to make herself known she entered the room.

Buffy knew she was there. Being a slayer and all had its benefits. Not wanting to end their playtime she decided to let Willow become noticed or for Dylan to find her. As the door opened more Dylan did look that way and smiled at her mother. Moving away from her toys she ran up and hugged her moms' leg. Willow bent over and patted the girls back.

Buffy didn't want to leave. She wanted to stay here and make sure Willow never left. But that was unreasonable. The two had just re met and needed time to recover. Getting up she tried to look Willow in the eyes, but couldn't. Letting her eyes drift down. "I should probably get going."

Willow could hear everything she wanted to say without saying it. Buffy wanted to stay. She was not going to hurt her again and figured she could offer. "You could stay, have dinner, catch up some if you want." Dylan understood the word 'stay' and nodded her head at Buffy.

Willow could tell Buffy wanted to, but was struggling if she should. "Please." That one word told so much to both of them. Buffy needed Willow, needed her in a way she had never needed anybody else. Willow needed Buffy to be there for her. She had gone through so much alone she needed her there, to support her.
