Chapter 2

They turned onto a street called Revello Drive and pulled to a stop in front of a nice house. Willow unbuckled her seat belt and followed the two up the walk way. Not stopping to knock, Buffy opened the front door.

"Mom, Giles, Dawnie, anyone here?"

Giles appeared around the corner wiping his hands on a dish towel. He gave Buffy a hug and smiled at Willow and Xander.

"Hey Giles, where's everyone and this is our new friend, Willow."

Giles stretched out his hand and said, "Willow nice to meet you, can I get you something to drink. Tea perhaps?"

Willow smiled slightly at the man's demeanor and accent. Very British screamed at her. "No thanks Mr. Giles."

"Please no Mr. It makes me feel quite old. Giles will do nicely."

"Ok, Giles. No thank you. You have a nice house."

"Well truth be told it's not mine it's my wife's, Buffy and Dawn's mom, Joyce. She should be somewhere around here. Let me go collect the other two."

"That's your dad?"

Buffy grinned and shook her head. "No well yeah, he's my step dad and the librarian at my old high school."

"G-man and Mrs. S. were quiet the talk of the school when the head cheerleader's mom started dating the school librarian."

Willow raised her eyebrow at the blonde, "Head cheerleader? Very intriguing"

Buffy blushed at the look Willow was giving her and shrugged her shoulders. "Come on let me give you the grand tour." Buffy took Willow's hand and led her through the dining room, into the kitchen, around the living room and up the stairs. As Buffy led her around, Willow oohhed and ahhed at all the right moments and ended the tour at her old room and led Willow through the entrance.

"And this is my room. I can't seem to help it. I'm too girly for my own good. I should come clean now. I am an addict. Shoes are my weakness. Xander keeps on saying that I should go to SAA."

"SAA?"

"Shoeholics Anonymous."

Both girls laughed and Willow took in the room. It was nice. There were pictures up on the mirror. She went over and looked at all of them. She felt Buffy press up behind her and pointed out a surly looking brunette girl that was pictured with the blonde.

She pointed at that one and asked, "Whose this?"

Buffy struggled with the answer for a moment and decided that honesty was the best policy. She smiled at Willow and pointed at Faith.

"That's my ex, Faith, you'll meet her tonight. She may look mean, but trust me her bark's far worse than her bite."

"Your ex? I thought you and Xander?"

"A world of no and maybe ewe. Not that for a guy Xander's not a hottie, but so not my type."

Willow laughed and added, "Thanks that explains a lot. I was wondering with you two sharing a room, but I didn't want to ask."

"No big. This is Cordelia, Dawn, Angel and Jesse." Buffy pointed out the rest of the group. "Dawn's my sister and will be coming with us tonight. Angel, Cordy and Faith will meet us there. Jesse, the big spoil sport, moved to San Francisco to attend Berkley. So you won't meet him."

"Cool. So how long have you been out?"

Buffy smiled at the girl and said, "Since my junior year in high school. I was co-captain of the cheerleading squad and Faith moved to town and then the sparks kinda flew. Cordy caught us making out in the showers and it was down hill for about a week and then people just kind of decided that they were cool with it. What about you?"

"Me...?" Willow squeaked out, "Uhm...I'm not gay, not that there is anything wrong with it, but I'm not...my girl friend Tara and Fred...that is to say my friends that are girls are together...have been for a long time, but no...I'm not...I'm going to shut up now." Half way through the babble Willow turned two shades darker than her hair and tried to stop herself from hyperventilating. She was graciously stopped by a firm grip on her arm that belonged to the blonde.

"Breath Willow. I get it. It's five by five."

"Uhh...thanks...I do that sometimes...well often. Five by uh? Five by what?"

"Sorry it's a Faithism that I've picked up over the years. It means everything is ok."

"Oh, okay. Thanks again. I just think it's cool that you are out. It was rough for Tara and Fred. They had a rough time with it, but of course they came out in their freshman year."

"So you've never been curious?"

"Not really, but then again, I haven't dated much there has only been one boyfriend and let's just say that ended poorly."

"Sorry about that. I've dated other girls besides Faith, but as for serious relationships go she was the only one I've been involved with ya know?"

Willow shook her head yes. Buffy looked over at her nightstand.

"Shit, let's go grab Xander and Dawn. We need to motor."

They walked out of the room and went to the door right next to the master bedroom. Buffy disregarded knocking and ended up walking in on her sister and Xander in a heavy make out session. Xander got so red his ears looked like beets and Dawn began screaming.

"Jesus Buffy! Haven't you ever heard of knocking!!!!!!"

"Yes, but we're late. And Xander if I catch you alone with my little sister again in her BEDROOM, you will wake up missing some very important bits."

"Can I claim temporary insanity?"

Buffy tapped her foot and folded her arms across her chest.

"Awe, come on Buffster, Dawnie's old enough and let's face it she's a hottie. Besides we've been dating for nearly a year."

"Two words: Road Trip"

Xander snapped his mouth shut and smiled at the three girls. Dawn was ready to start screaming again and then she noticed the redhead.

"Sorry, I'm Dawn. Buffy's younger sister and Xander's girlfriend. Sorry about all of this."

"Buffy, Dawn?" Joyce called from the stairway.

"Up here mom. Be down in a minute." Buffy yelled back.

She pointed a finger at Dawn then Xander. Turned heel and walked out.

"Hi mom," Buffy said giving the eldest Summers a hug. "This is Willow."

Joyce turned to greet the new member of Buffy's group and smiled. "Hi, I'm Joyce."

"Willow, nice to meet you Mrs. Summers." Willow shook hands with the woman.

"I won't keep you guys. Have fun. Xander watch out for my girls." She said ushering the four out the door.

"Always do mom." Xander wrapped his arm around Dawn's waist and led the others to the car.

"Again Willow I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell with company, but Buffy is well Buffy. The big gomer." Dawn stuck her tongue out at her sister and Willow laughed at the younger girls actions.

Willow was surprised when the door man just let the four of them in. Buffy led the way and grabbed a secluded table.

"So Willow since this is your first time at the Bronze, you are required to dance at least half the night."

"Ah, I can't dance. I have no skills with which to move to."

"Willow, everyone can dance. Come on. You're not getting off the hook that easy. Up you go."

Willow didn't have time to protest as she was dragged from her seat and pulled to the dance floor.

Buffy placed her hands on Willow's hips and tried to get the redhead to loosen up. The music was light enough that if Willow could just relax, she would be able to move with the music. Stilling the movements of both girls, Buffy said, "Follow my lead. Just watch me. And then try and do what I do."

Buffy showed Willow some basics and after a few unsuccessful attempts Willow began to relax and follow the blonde's movements. By the end of the fourth song both were enjoying themselves too much to stop.

Back at the table, Xander felt a pat on top of his head and looked up. Faith stood behind him looking at her ex and a girl she had never seen before. Faith walked around and sat next to Xander.

"Who's the redhead?"

"Willow. She just moved here from L.A. Going to the UC with Buffy and I."

"Cool. They hookin' up?"

Xander shrugged, "You're guess is as good as mine. Hey aren't you supposed to be working tonight?"

"Was, but Leah called in and said she wanted tonight's shift. I told her to go for it."

"Sweet."

"Heya D! How's the last bit of freedom before your senior year treating you?"

"Good. Same stuff different day."

"Where's Angel and Quenn C? Weren't they supposed to be here before me?"

"I just got a text from Cordy, she's running late...something about a wardrobe malfunction and Angel, who knows."

"Alright, first rounds on me. What do you guys want?"

"Two cokes please." Dawn said.

Willow for her part hadn't had this much fun in awhile. She was honest when she said she didn't dance much, but she found herself being able to move with the blonde without any problems. Buffy was a great teacher. She had lost track of the number of songs that had been played and realized that not only was she starting to get tired, but she was desperate for a drink of water. Motioning to Buffy that she was going to go sit, she left the dance floor. Buffy went to the bar, got two waters and followed the redhead to the table. Faith was there and Cordy was there, but she didn't see Angel. Checking her phone she saw one missed call and one text message. She tossed Willow the bottle and went outside to see what was going on.

******************************************************************

Dialing her voicemail, Angels voice came through, "Buff it's Angel. Sorry but can't make it tonight. Tell everyone I said hey. Stuff came up at the office and I've got to clean up a mess. Again I'm sorry. Talk to you later.

Worried, Buffy punched three on her phone and waited for the speed dial to catch up. Angel picked up on the second ring.

"Buffy?"

"Yeah, what's wrong?"

"Nothing major. Just some of the lab stuff Kate and I were working on came back and we are probably going to pull an all nighter. You remember last week the body they found out by Arlington?"

"Yeah, it was not pretty. Anything you two need? I can send Xan to drop off caffeine and doughy goodness?"

"Nah, just tell everyone we're sorry."

"K, call us if you need anything."

"Will do."

Buffy disconnected and made her way back into the club. Plopping down next to Willow, she told everyone Angel wouldn't make it.

"And Kate?" Faith asked.

"Nope, sorry Faithy."

"Ah well, so B you going to properly introduce us to your friend?"

"Sorry guys. Cordy, Faith, this Willow. Willow lives right down the hall at school. She's also in my psych class."

"Hi guys," Willow squeaked out. "Nice to meet you."

Cordy assessed the girls clothing and despite the lack of fashion sense. She thought she was pretty and there was a lot of potential to improve. She smiled and offered her her hand.

"So what's keeping the big, dark and glowery?" Xander asked.

"Some lab reports. Sorry Cordy, sorry Faith."

"It's cool. Red, you dance?"

Willow's face reddened. "Uh, only since tonight. Buffy's a good teacher."

Faith smirked, "Yeah I know. How about cutting some of that thing they call a rug. Guys?"

Everyone nodded. Willow was dragged from her seat by Buffy and Faith. The entire group danced to a few songs and then Willow begged to go get some water. Xander excused himself and followed the redhead to the bar.

Willow was about ready to pay the bartender, but the guy turned around and didn't take her money.

Xander tapped Willow on her shoulder. "No need to pay for drinks. Tip the man, but drinks are on the house."

Willow shrugged and put five dollars in the beer stein on the counter.

"Why don't I pay for drinks?"

"'Cuz Faith and Angel own the place."

"Oh."

Xander grabbed Willow's hand and they walked back to the booth. The rest of the girls were on the dance floor. Not having noticed the absence of the two.

"So, you havin' fun tonight?"

"It's definitely interesting. Thanks for inviting me."

"Hey no problem." Not sure how to bring up the next subject he stayed silent for a few minutes. "Willow, I'm not sure how much Buffy told you so if I'm crossing lines I'm sorry, but I...she's like a sister to me."

"Told me about what?"

"Her and Faith?"

"Oh, oh...yeah we...uhm I was looking at pictures in her room and she mentioned they used to go out. I know she's gay."

"Good, I just worry too much I think. Glad you decided to come out. We were planning a beach trip this weekend I think. A last horah before Dawnie starts school, you want to go?"

Taking a moment to think about it and weighing that against the homework she was bound have, Willow then looked at Xander. He was giving her puppy dog eyes and for some reason she just couldn't say no.

"Yeah I'll go," Willow thought a moment and then got an idea. "Would you guys mind if I invited my friends from LA up to come with. I'm not sure if they can make it, but if they can I think you guys will like them."

"The more the merrier. Sweet!"

They both fell into easier conversation. Willow was telling him about growing up in L.A and her friends that might come up for the weekend. Xander had begun telling stories of growing up with Buffy and Cordy.

The night began to wind down and everyone was getting ready to head home. Buffy noticed Dawn giving her looks and pulled her over to the side.

"Ok brat, what's up?"

"I was just...can I spend the night at the dorms with you and Xander?"

"Dawn, I don't think that's a good idea."

"Is it just 'cuz you think Xander and I are going to have sex?"

Buffy's face turned red and she tried to spit a sentence out, but the idea of her little sister having sex freaked her out beyond words.

"Look Buffy I'm seventeen. How old were you when you first had sex? Xander and I have already had our talk. We're going to wait awhile, but I don't want to go home and I was really hoping to get some cuddle time in."

"I...you...hold on." Not believing she was going to do what she was about to do, Buffy saddled up next to Willow and gave her her best smile. "Wills, I've got a favor to ask. Dawn wants to spend the night, but I can't stay in the same room with those two if they are going to be sleeping in the same bed. It'll just creep me out too much. So I, being the big wonderful sister that I am, have agreed to such a request on the condition that you being my new bestest friend would allow me to crash in your room. So what do you say oh wonderful one, can I?"

"Sure, not a problem." Willow smiled and looped her arm through Buffy's. "On one condition."

"Name it?"

"We go for mochas in the morning."

"Bargain struck. I'll be right back." Walking back over to Dawn, Buffy pulled her close. "Here's the deal: I'm gonna crash at Wills. You and Xander can have the room, but I swear if I find you did anything more than go to second base, I castrate Xander and you get put in a chastity belt."

Dawn squealed and gave Buffy a hug. "Thank you thank you thank. I'm gonna go call mom."

Buffy rolled her eyes and shot Xander a look. He shrugged and went back to the conversation he was having with Cordy and Faith.

******************************************************************

Buffy had just come back from the bathroom at Stevenson and saw Willow bent over her laptop.

Does the girl ever stop? She's way too smart to be at UC. Why did she come here?

Deciding to be nosy she walked over to Willow and peered over her shoulder. It was an AIM frenzy; apparently she was talking to one of her friends. Deciding not to be too nosey she went over to the small TV Willow had in her room and turned it on.

"The TV's not hooked up. I just use it to watch movies. Sorry. I'll be done in a minute. I'm trying to convince Tara and Fred to come up for the weekend for the beach. Xander invited me tonight."

Smiling and making a note to thank Xander, although he did get the room to himself with Dawn tonight. "That's cool. I'd like to meet your friends."

"I think you'll like them. Ok...yes! They will be here Friday afternoon. Neither one have class so that's cool. You ready for bed?"

Buffy glanced at the clock and realized she had to be up in four hours. Nodding her head she looked at the room. It was a single and the only bed was a queen in the corner of the room.

"Ah Will, what do you want to do about the sleeping arrangements?"

"I just thought that you could sleep with me...not with me like in the naked way, but in the we're friends I think and I've shared a bed before and well I think you have so uh...ya know we could sleep in the same bed."

"Gotcha, that's fine with me. You ready to sleep?"

"Yes and more yes."

The girls slipped between the sheets and drifted off.
