A/N: Starts in season two with a little bit of backstory. Willow has been
practicing witchcraft since she was a kid, the rest is explained.

It had taken a long time for the two of them to admit their feelings for eachother, but once it was out in the open, the whole gang knew about it. Buffy had dated girls before Willow, had never hidden the fact that she was gay. Giles said it had something to do with her being the slayer, and the masculine qualities that included. Her mother attributed it to her father being around, or so she said. Joyce had never come out and said it, at least not in so many words, but she supported her eldest daughters choice of dating girls. She felt that the blonde had enough on her plate as far as danger goes without her accidently getting pregnant. Dawn felt as if she had grown up with her older sister dating girls, and so in her mind it was perfectly normal.

Buffy had been in Sunnydale for nearly a year before Willow finally admitted how she felt for the other girl, at least to herself. And then to Xander, who was lusting after the blonde as well. All that Xander had said was "Good luck, youve got a better shot with her than me." and patted her softly on the back. A month later, Willow had invited Buffy over after telling her on the phone that she had a crush on someone. Buffy had argued that Willow should just tell her over the phone, but could tell through the phone that the redhead was wearing her resolve face. It was the first time that the blonde had been single in a long time, and Willow had decided that it was now or never. Buffy came over, and as soon as the door had been opened, held a redhead in her arms. Willow quickly kissed the blonde slayer before she could lose her nerve, and saw fireworks in a way that she didnt think possible. Buffy directed the two of them inside and when Willow finally pulled back, the only thing either of them could think to say was "Wow."

That had been nearly two months ago. They had decided to try and take things slowly. They went on dates at the bronze and Willow actually danced with her girlfriend, even it was mostley only to the slow songs. They seemed to be in a suspended state of coupledom. They hadn't had sex yet,
but it had been on both girls minds. And since they had started dating they had had plenty of sleepovers. Joyce knew of course, and so the couple stayed in the living room, but each time Dawn would come downstairs and practically jump on the curled up girls.

The dreams started about a week ago, at least for Willow they did, she wasn't sure if Buffy was having them too. In each dream there were two girls, a slayer and another girl. They were always a couple, and were always fighting. Only a few of the couples actually ever lost the fight, but in the ones that did, the other girl would die at the exact moment that the slayer had. Willow thought about her most recent dream as she walked down the hallway towards her first period class. She decided then and there that she would tell Buffy as soon as she saw the blonde.

"And so, do questions one through thirty, odds only on page 117, and please if you have any questions, remember to ask before the test tomorrow." The teacher said as the final bell for first period sounded overhead. Wilow made a beeline out the door and towards the library.

"Hey Baby." Buffy said as she leaned in and kissed the redhead softly. "How was class?"

Willow shrugged. "Okay, it was mostley just the extra homework I did last night, but she did answer a couple of my questions. Yours?"

"Classlike." Buffy said smiling as she sat down and pulled the redhead between her legs. She leaned foward to kiss her again, when Willow stopped her.

"Wait, I need to talk to you about something first." The redhead linked their hands and thinking better of it, let go and quickly pulled a chair over in front of Buffy.

"Oh no, this isnt the whole, 'I just realized that I'm actually dating a girl' talk is it?" Buffy asked concern showing on her features.

"No no, nothing like that. Ive been having these dreams, and well...I was kind of wondering if my imagination is just running away with me or if youre having them too?" Willow asked, confusion marring her features.

"Well, what are they about? These dreams I mean?" Buffy asked, completely focused on the girl in front of her. Whether they were willing to admit it outloud, their worlds revolved souly around one another.

"Uhm, a past slayer and a girl with her." Willow said hesitantly.

"Oh, yeah, Ive been having those, I told Giles about them... actually that's why Im here now instead of outside cleaning for that detention that Snyder gave me. He said he had found something out about them actually."

"Oh, okay, thats good, very good. Hey wait a second, how come you didnt tell me about them?" Willow asked, a hurt look on her face.

"How come you didn't tell me?" Buffy countered. "You know I love you, its just, if it involves you and danger, I dont want it to mix. In my mind you and danger are two very unmixy things. Like oil and water. And I just wanted to find out before I started worrying you." She finished off lamely.

"Oh, okay. Speaking of Giles, where is he?" Willow asked. "I can't feel him anywhere." She let her sense roam. The shrill phone ring brought her out of search. "You wanna answer it, or should I?"

"I'll get it." Buffy said hopping off of the table and giving the redhead a quick peck before answering the phone. "Sunnydale Library, how may I help
you?"

"Oh good," A distinctly british voice came over the line, "Buffy, it seems I have been er-" She could hear a giggle in the background and a soft kissy noise. "Detained at the moment, perhaphs we could meet some other time."

Buffy paused and blew air up making her bangs move. "Put her on the phone."

Then she heard softer, "She wants to talk to you."

And a female voice said, "Hello?"

"Mom, I needed to ask Giles about something. Slayer-ish, do you think I could have him back for half an hour? Hour tops?"

"Yes, of course honey, I'll send him on his way now." She said her goodbyes and hung up the phone. She shook her head. They were a great couple, really they were. And her stepdad had been nothing but supportive of her and Willow's relationship choices. But half the time they didnt train nearly as much as they should, mostley either because he was taking care of Dawn, or busy with her mother.

"He's on his way." She said as she rolled her eyes and made her way over to her girlfriend.
