Chapter 9...
***************************************************************************
Willow sat sipping coffee in a quiet corner of the local Starbucks, contemplating what had happened last night.

It was all her fault. Everything.

Saying Kennedy's name instead of Buffy's, which lead Buffy to kiss that girl and then, the worst part... sleeping with Faith. Not that sleeping with Faith was bad, it sure felt good at the time, but it was the aftermath Willow was worried about. She'd snook out earlier that morning, not wanting to discuss any of last night's events, leaving a sleeping Faith alone.

She'd really fucked up this time, cheating on the woman she loved. To make things worse, Faith was one of Buffy's best friends, they were practically sisters.

She'd made the biggest mistake of her life. And it'd all happened too fast.

The music playing in the café filled her head:

"Can we bring yesterday back around?
Because I know how I feel,
About you, now.
I was dumb,
I was wrong,
I let you down.
But, I know how I feel,
About you, now."

Songs like these always play at the wrong time.

Buffy was standing at Faith's front door, nervously shuffling her feet and clutching a single red rose. She went to knock, but stopped herself and started to pace.

"Willow, I'm sorry... no... Willow, about last night..." Buffy shook her head, "no, too cliché... Will.. I love ya! ...No, doesn't get the point across enough... maybe more emphasis on the love?..."

Buffy's rehearsing was cut short as Faith nearly shot out the door putting her jacket on. She stopped when she saw Buffy and the rose.

"B?" She tried to act normally, "what you doing here?"

Buffy raised an eye brow, "I'm here to see Willow. Why'd you think I was here?!"

"Well, Red ain't here, I woke up and she'd gone. Was gonna go look for her... " Faith stopped when she noticed the anger in the other slayers eyes. "What?"

Buffy could smell Willow's unique scent all over Faith. She could smell sex, too.

"You fucked her," Buffy spat each syllable with venom. It was more of a statement than a question and Faith didn't know what to say.

"Uh... I... what? " for someone as cool and collected as Faith, she sure was having trouble finding her words lately.

Buffy smacked her face hard and shoved her up against the wall.

"You ever touch *my* Willow like that, again and I'll kill you," Buffy said, possessive slayer mode on. "Understand?"

Faith clenched her jaw but nodded. Buffy let go and walked off in search of Willow... and an explanation.

Willow walked around town cuddling into the baggy jacket she was wearing. She'd been doing this for a good 12 hours and it was starting to get dark. She didn't know what to do. She couldn't go back to Faith's, she felt too awkward. She couldn't go back to Buffy's, she felt too guilty. She didn't want to go to Xander or Giles', she didn't want to piss off any one else. She was back at square one. Alone. For a second or two, she thought of Kennedy and the two used to be before they moved to England. They used to stay up all night just talking and laughing and cuddling. They used to watch the stars and Willow would talk about Tara. She shook her head, to rid memories of what happened after they'd moved. She knew know that she'd rather have no one than have stayed with Kennedy.

Suddenly, she stopped. She saw a certain short blonde slayer walking towards her at a fast pace. Her eyes widened and she turned on her heels heading away from her.

"Willow," Buffy called after her, "Willow, can we just talk?" She asked turning the woman around by her shoulder.

Willow began to panic. She couldn't lose Buffy.

"I, I thought, well, there was that girl, and I freaked, and I know, I know it's all my fault, I just..."

"Let's go talk about it at home, OK?" Buffy said, glaring at the people who had started to stare.

Willow nodded shakily and followed Buffy home. She felt like a little kid who'd been caught with her hand in the cookie jar.

The girl's sat at opposite ends of the dining room table, facing each other.

"Start explaining," Buffy said in a neutral tone.

"Explaining what?" Willow asked, looking to the hands in her lap. She already half-expected that the question was going to be about Kennedy.

"Why you were screwing Faith," Willow's head snapped up.

"How did you...?"

"I could smell you. All. Over. Her." Buffy's eyes turned cold, "Do you havee any idea how much it hurts to know that the woman you love... " she paused before shouting. "...IS FUCKING ONE OF YOUR BEST FRIENDS."

Willow flinched, genuinly worried by the slayer's tone and tears filled her eyes. She looked down again, trying to avoid Buffy's gaze.

"A-at the club... I-I... I freaked... and then... Faith, she was just there... and I... I... " Willow was having trouble breathing.

"YOU WHAT, WILLOW? YOU DOING FAITH IS A THOUSAND TIMES WORSE THAN ME KISSING A GIRL I DON'T EVEN KNOW." Buffy could see her shouting was scaring Willow, and, to a degree, she was glad. She walked over to Willow, making the small woman stand up, too and back away a couple of steps. "Do you like her? Do you have feelings for her? DO YOU LOVE HER?"

"N-no, Buff, of course I don't, I-I..."

"Oh no, that's right, sorry... I forgot," she sarcastically, "YOU'RE STILL IN LOVE WITH YOUR EX-WIFE."

"Buffy, it's not like that..."

"THEN WHAT IS IT LIKE, WILLOW? PLEASE TELL ME, 'CAUSE I'M TRYING REALLY HARD TO UNDERSTA-"

"*I* LOVE *YOU*, BUFFY. NO ONE ELSE, JUST YOU!" Willow screamed back, tears starting to fall. "AND WHEN I SAW YOU KISSING THAT REALLY, REALLY PRETTY GIRL I REALISED HOW MUCH BETTER YOU COULD DO THAN ME AND IT SCARED ME TO DEATH." She took in a couple of deep breaths, "WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT SOMEONE LIKE ME WHEN YOU COULD HAVE SOMEONE LIKE THAT?! SOMEONE WHO ISN'T COVERED IN PERMINANT CUTS AND BRUISES AND WHO HASN'T GOT ALL THIS FUCKING EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE!" The last three words were screamed particularly loudly before she sat back down and put her head in her hands and running her hands through her hair.

Buffy couldn't move. Willow's outburst had left her speechless and she felt so bad. After a couple of moments, she snapped out of it and knelt down by Willow lifting her head up with a hand.

"Hey," Buffy's voice was the exact opposite to what it was a few seconds ago. She spoke gently, just above a whisper and said, "Why would I want her when I've got you?"

"Buffy, please, don't," Willow whispered.

"No, I mean it, Will," she tucked a few of Willow's brown locks behind her ear, "Why go for some raving whore when I've got an amazingly beautiful," she kissed Willow's lips once, "smart," twice, "funny," three times, "and really cute girlfriend waiting for me at home."

"I..." Willow took a couple of ragged breaths, "you still want me as your girlfriend?"

Buffy smiled at Willow's child-like expression.

"Of course I do. I love you, Willow, nothing's going to change that."

"B-but what... what I did..."

"We'll work through it, OK?" Buffy stroked a pale cheek as Willow nodded.

They stared at each other for a moment before Willow joined Buffy on the floor, giving her a bone-crushing hug.

"I love you, so much!" Willow said, leaving quick kisses all over Buffy's face.

"I love you, more!" Buffy said with a cheeky smile.

"Not possible!" Willow said smiling back at the blonde before giving her the most love-filled kiss she could muster.

The kiss soon turned more passionate, slayer hormones taking over again.

"Wanna take this upstairs?" Said Buffy's husky voice.

Willow smiled, "Horny, much? I need to go shower first."

"No... no shower! Shower, bad. Willow lovin', good!" Willow giggled as 'Cave Buffy' returned.

Willow leaned down to whisper, "Good Willow lovin' after, I promise." She kissed the blonde's ear before getting up and heading to the stairs, smiling back at the mesmorised Buffy, who was watching her girlfriend's swaying hips. Buffy got up and ran behind the smaller woman grabbing her waist and giving her a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Don't be long," said an impatient slayer.

"I'll be ten minutes," Willow promised.

Buffy pouted, "Ten minutes too long." Willow giggled and, turning around, planted a kiss on Buffy's lips. She headed upstairs as Buffy went into the kitchen looking for a bottle of wine and two wine glasses.

After the wine glasses were filled, Buffy sauntered upstairs with them and went into Willow's room, she could hear the shower running. She placed them on the bed-side table and got herself comfortable on the bed.

She looked down at her watch.

"You only got 7 minutes left in there Will!"

This feels rushed.
Sorry.
I'm in one of those moods where you just wanna throw them together.
And stick them down with superglue.
Naked.
