Disclaimer: Joss and fox own all
unbetad. I wrote this in reaction to two things. The whining of the Willow/Tara shippers to bring back Tara in season 8, thereby cheapening death, and all the Kennedy bashing by both the Willow/Tara and Wiffy shippers. It may only be funny in my mind. *shrug*

Zombified

Willow's body jerked rigid as thunder boomed and lightening flashed across the sky, illuminating the gossamer blinds covering the living room window. Dread, uh-oh, she thought. A knock at the door stopped her from fleeing to the kitchen and the comfort her girlfriend's arms promised. Instead, she went to the door and opened it, hoping nothing otherworldly would be on the other side of the threshold.

"Ta — Ta — Tara ..." she sputtered, taking in the rotting corpse standing in the doorway.

Tara smiled as she stepped into the apartment, her arms outstretched to Willow, seeking a hug. "Hey Wills," she said, wrapping her well preserved but definitely still rotting arms around the red headed witch.

Willow shuddered at the contact with the dead flesh. "Kenn! Buffy!" she screamed. Tara let go of her, stepping back, frowning.

Buffy and Kennedy walked out of the kitchen casually, side by side, each girl draping an arm around the others waist. Buffy nibbled on Kennedy's ear as they moved.

"What the ... heck!" Willow demanded, wanting to curse, but finding herself unable to befoul her language with course words.

The two girls quickly let go of the other as Buffy pulled her lips and teeth from Kennedy's delectable earlobe. Buffy wore a sheepish grin. "Uh, sorry about that Will. Ever since I got this recently gay thing going, well I can't seem to keep my hands off all the hot lesbians," Buffy said, shrugging.

"Hey, Buffy," Tara greeted the blond slayer with a small, shy wave.

"Tara!" Buffy squealed, running over to the dead girl and giving her a fiercely tight hug. "You look ... well corpsey, I guess." She shrugged as she released Tara from the hug.

"Buffy, recently gay?" Tara questioned, tilting her head.

"Yeah, I guess you could ..."

"Buffy!" Willow yelled. "She's dead! Tara's a zombie! And Kenn, stop glaring at her. After what you and Buffy were just doing, you have no right ..."

"I wasn't glaring, Will. I was checking her out. She's really hot, her pictures don't do her justice," Kennedy said.

"She's dead!" Willow screamed. "A walking corpse!"

Buffy quickly spun toward Willow, a hurt look plastered on her face. "I ... I didn't know you were so bigoted against the dead, Will," Buffy said.

"Oh, Buffy, I'm sorry. I didn't mean ... Angel and Spike aren't bad ..."

"Not them," Buffy said. "They suck! I mean me. I was in the ground for half a year, Will. Just because my skin cleared up quicker than Tara's doesn't mean we're different. I'm a ..."

Kennedy rapidly crossed the room to Tara and took the zombie's hand in hers, tugging the dead girl toward the door. "Come on," Kennedy said. "Let's get out of here and let them have their moment."

Tara looked first at Willow and then at Buffy real quick, then turned her head to the younger slayer. "Ok," the zombie girl said. Tara and Kennedy left.

Willow turned to face the door as it closed, her mouth drawn up into a tight oh, opening and closing like a fish feeding. Buffy stood behind her. "Did my girlfriend just leave with my dead girlfriend?" Willow asked after a moment.

"Uh, yeah," Buffy answered, wrapping her arms around Willow's waist from behind. "Which is of the good, 'cause you're the hottest lesbian around."

"Eeep," Willow squeaked as she felt Buffy's teeth and lips start to nibble on her earlobe.
