Chapter 6
Dangerous Times

Society has a system of rules that must be abided by, regulations that ensure the quality of life, laws that govern good and evil. This is what happens when those laws are broken.

"The Slayer sneaked out yesterday in the middle of the night." I explained to Mr. Witherspoon and Methos, whom were sitting across from me.

"How?" Mr. Witherspoon asked surprised.

"With the help of Gretchen." I say stoically. It was enough dealing with Ms. Summers when she was alive. She made a mockery of the Council, brainwashed one of the best Watchers we had on our staff, and destroyed our system of order. I celebrated her death with a drink and thought that finally my prayers had been answered, order had been returned. Instead, however, this Faith person, that didn't even have a last name, took her place and she was a bigger discipline problem than Ms. Summers ever was.

"How?" Witherspoon was dumbfounded.

"It doesn't matter. Gretchen has been taken care of. Nobody betrays the Council." I state.

"Where did Faith go?" Mr. Witherspoon asked.

"She's on her way to Sunnydale. We have been tracking her movements from the moment she left. I want you to pick a team of four men to go with you to handle this." Witherspoon nodded slowly in agreement.

"If I may interrupt for just a moment Mr. Travers...the Hellmouth is a dangerous place, my knowledge of mystical forces and the black arts might be helpful in the search for the rogue Slayer." Methos said calmly. I admired him. His poise under pressure was unbelievable. Methos has been a member of the Council as long as I can remember and his magical instinct has assisted us in our battles against evil time and time again. No one else's advise carries more weight than that of his, and thanks to his intuition we discovered Faith's defection and Gretchen's betrayal. But most importantly we discovered the truth...Ms. Summers is alive indeed. The Council owed him a debt of gratitude.

"I think that to be an excellent idea Methos." I respond pleased.

"What shall we do with her once we find her?" Mr. Witherspoon asked.

"Kill her!" The words hung in the air as we examined each other's expressions. It is not our practice to kill humans...unless it serves a greater purpose. "I've grown tired of these unruly Slayers. It's time we take control of the situation. The fate of the world is in our hands. We attempted retraining this Slayer but it cannot be done...this is a fact; a tree born with a twisted trunk will never straighten itself. Our only hope lies in her death. Once she is dead, another will be called in her place and only then can we be restored to our rightful position. Remember Gentlemen, this is OUR battle, the Slayer is merely the instrument." I finish.

"What shall we do if we encounter opposition from the other Slayer?" Mr. Witherspoon asked.

"Kill her too." I say firmly "And...for God's sake...make bloody sure she's dead this time." I add at the end.

The night was dark and mysterious. I felt the soft cool breeze of the wind blowing and heard the rustling of leaves on the trees. The cemetery was empty and quiet....well... except for the sound of Buffy's voice. We had been on patrol already for over an hour and she still hadn't stopped jabbering. We haven't dusted one single vamp...how could we? ... she's been announcing our presence the whole time!

"But my absolute favorite part, Will, was when she started skating really really fast..." I watched her with amused bewilder as she spoke with breathless excitement and started acting out her story, "and she jumped up really really high and did the double toe loop and landed on one foot." She finished as she hopped onto a nearby headstone and balanced like a ballerina. I look at the empty coffee cups in my hands and make a mental note....from now on no caffeine allowed for Buffy after lunch time.

"Yeah Buffy....Nancy Kerrigan Rocks!" I exclaim urging her on.

"She does!!" She shrieked happily in agreement. I couldn't help but giggle. I knew she loved the Ice Show, I just didn't know she LOVED THE ICE SHOW!

Her birthday the night before had been a HIT! We went to the Ice Show and she had been ecstatic. I marveled at the look on her face every time a new skater would come unto the ice, similar to the look a small child gets at a toy store. Her eyes were wide with excitement and her brows were raised with surprise. It was amazing. She was so happy it made my heart sing. For years her favorite skater was Dorothy Hamil, but last night it was the Ice Bitch herself.

So here I am, standing in a dark cemetery, looking at the most important person in my life balancing on her toes on top of a headstone with a stake in one hand and a back pack in the other.

"Why don't you come down from there before you hurt yourself?" I pleaded with a gleeful smile.

"NOTHING CAN DEFEAT THE MIGHTY SLAYER!" She thundered triumphantly arching her arms up in the air in a classic body builder pose.

"Come on Nancy Kerrigan...it's time to go home and hang up the skates for the night." I said in between giggles.

"Oh...wait...watch this!!!" She threw the back pack and stake on the floor, hopped unto a higher headstone, and used it as a stepping stone to climb up on the mausoleum. She was up high now and oh so proud at her climbing skills. With a graceful jump she double flipped in the air and landed with perfect form. I smiled. She was trying to impress me and the thought alone was making my stomach do flip flops. Little does she know that even the cute wheezy snore she makes when she sleeps impresses me.

I clapped my hands at her performance "Hey...if the real Nancy could do that she would've won the gold." I say humorously.

She looked at me with a frown on her face, "Why'd you have to bring that up?" She pouted. "I'm still pissed about that." I burst out laughing at her sudden change of mood. She really took this stuff seriously. Picking up her stake and back pack she signaled for me to follow her.

"Come' on Will, it's only 8:00 and we still have two more cemeteries to go before we can go home."

"8:00??? Put it feels like 10:30!!!" I complained.

"That's cause it's January and the sun sets at 6:00 P.M....I miss daylight savings time...my job is so much easier then." She said with another pout.

"Ohh come on!!! I want to go home and get with the smooches." I pleaded. But there was no persuading the Slayer. She had a duty and by golly she was going to uphold it. We continued walking and fell into normal conversation.

"Have you spoken to Dawn today?" I ask.

"Yeah. I picked her up from school and dropped her off at Xander's. She's spending the night again. Apparently they rented all four Aliens movies yesterday and didn't get to finish their Vid Fest." She explained.

"Ah...that explains it...Anya spent the day asking me if I'd kill her if she was ever impregnated by aliens."

"And what ya say?" She asked amused.

"I assured her not to worry...I'd kill her in a heartbeat!" We both broke into a fit of giggles. Anya always took everything so literal...it was part of her quirky charm.

Buffy took my hand into hers as we walked, side by side, further into the darkness. The night was silent again...I was holding the hand of the woman I loved...and everything was right with the world.

Suddenly Buffy jerked as if she'd just remembered something really really really important. "And oh my god Will...did you see how tall she was? Huge! She was like a giant... Giant Girl from Icedonia... oh and...." I roll my eyes...this is going to be a really really long night.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

This town is a crazy place...it really is. I should know, I've been here a long time. Running a successful establishment on the Hellmouth is not easy. Most of time I don't get messed with cause demons respect where they drink. But I got to admit...I've seen some pretty freaky deaky shit in my time. But tonight...well...that just took the cake.

The human was in here again. Yeah...the stupid one that thinks he's a genius. That boy walked in here looking more nervous than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. He was sitting over in the corner and my curiosity got the best of me.

"Hey...what can I getcha?" I asked trying not to sound to nosy. I got a bad rap for some reason.

"Whiskey on the rocks." He stammered out all fidgety.

"That's a grown up drink! What happened?" I pursue.

"He's dead. My first reaction was thrill...but...oh my God... Spike is dead." He said in shock.

"Spike's off to Dustville? Did the Slayer finally do it?" I ask surprised.

"No not the Slayer." He put his head in his hands and was shaking it back and forth. "Oh my God. Oh my God. This is really going to piss him off. Spike was our wild card." He wasn't making any sense put looked like crap. I hand him his drink and offer consolation...hey...I'm a bartender it's what I do.

"Look on the bright side. Now you won't have to worry about him killing you anymore..." and before I could finish the thought, the door of the bar swings open and in walks Spike.

Warren stumbles out of the chair in surprised delight. Running up to Spike he starts patting his chest glad to see he's not dust.

"I thought he had killed you." Warren said relieved.

"Nope...hmph...he fixed me up good." Spike growled.

Turning to the rest of the crowd of vampires in the bar Spike proclaims, "Alright kiddies... the Big Bad is back and things are going to start changing around here."

With a thunderous outburst the room full of vampires and demons started laughing at him. Everyone throwing in there little jabs.

"Oh guys look, it's Mr. Chips Ahoy, the Big Bad!" One vampire said.

"Watch out...don't make him mad he might lick you to death." Said another.

"No worse...he'll call his girlfriend so she could beat you up." That, apparently, was the straw that broke the camels back. I knew the look on his face. I'd seen it before. I moved back slowly pressing my back against the wall of liquor behind me.

"You buggers don't believe, eh?" He paused and his face conjured into it's demon state. His yellow eyes flaring with hate. "I'll show you then." He exclaimed.

With one swift move he grabbed Warren by the neck and pulled him towards him. He opened his mouth wide and sunk his teeth deep into Warren's neck. From where I was standing I could see the look on Warren's face. It was a mixture of surprise and pain. His body was shacking violently as the life was being sucked out of him. To think a few minutes ago he was worried that Spike was dead. Seconds later Spike let go....whewww I thought he was going to kill him.

Warren was half unconscious and opened his eyes to look at Spike. Spike's face was still evil and his lips and teeth were full of blood...Warren's blood. He looked at Warren straight in the face and said "You were right...you are a treat!"

Placing his arms in opposite directions around Warren's neck, he pulled forcefully, and with one swift movement broke it. The cracking sound of Warren's neck echoed through the bar. Now... you got to wake up pretty early in the morning to shock a bar full of demons. It wasn't the fact that a human was killed...cause that happens there everyday...it was the sheer brutality of the act. Warren was Spike's friend...or at least we thought. I watched in horror as Warrens disembodied corpse fell to the floor. His head seemed to hang on only because of the skin.

"Or did he say that it would be his treat?" Spike said thoughtfully as he licked the blood of his finger tips. "Oh well...doesn't matter now eh?" He said looking down at Warren's body right before he kicked it one last time.

He looked up at the same crowd that had been laughing at him just a few seconds before. They were all sitting in shocked silence.

"So...I'm gonna kill the Slayer, her friends, and her family....who's with me?"

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I love it when things turn out exactly how they're planned. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does I get a rush that courses through my veins like sheer energy. The vampire stalked out of here with pure unadulterated hate and evil fueling his fire. Buffy will be dead by the end of the week. It's a shame really, I never disliked Buffy, but it really doesn't make a difference to me anymore.

"What are you smiling about baby doll?" Rack asked interrupting my thoughts.

"The Hellmouth will be open soon." I state smiling.

"Ah yes, reason to rejoice indeed...if you're us that is." Rack responded. I get up from the sofa and walk over to where Rack is sitting. Taking his face in my hands I ease into a straddling position on top of him.

"Oh baby. Who gives a shit about anyone else anymore? The whole World is going to Hell anyways, why shouldn't we be the hosts of the party?" I whisper into his mouth. Our lips touched momentarily and the surge of energy was unbelievable, but I had no time for that now. I had loose ends to take care of. I pull away and get up.

"Where're ya going hun?" He asked.

"Gotta move to part two of the plan." I advised. "Don't worry...it won't take long."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

We walked hand in hand for what seemed like miles and miles just chatting away. I loved talking to Buffy, I always did. Ever since the day we met we had a special connection. She understood me like no one else could. I guess that's what soul mates do...complete each other.

Before I realized how far we had walked we reached a clearing on a small cliff that over looked the town. The view was spectacular and it took my breath away.

"What is this place Buffy?" I ask in awe.

"Well, Will, I've been thinking a lot about us. I've always loved the Ice Show but yesterday was unbelievable and I realized ... it was because of you." She smiled and took a deep breath before she continued.

"I've noticed that the little things that make me happy that used to be just "mine" are so much better when they're "ours" instead. I love sharing my life with you Will ... and ... I love you." She was nervous. I could tell because her voice was shacking. It's funny really. Sometimes Buffy could be so strong and self confident. But sometimes, when we are alone together, her emotions get the best of her. I love that I'm the only one that gets to enjoy that side of her.

"This is my special place." She continued. "It used to be mine and Angel's...you see ... this is where we were the day it started snowing, remember?" I nodded in agreement vividly remembering that Christmas.

"But after Angel left it became my place. I come here whenever I'm feeling down or depressed and watch the town below. It reminds me of my purpose in life...the people I was called to protect. But now Will... you are the purpose of my life, you're the one I want to protect, and I want this place to be ours." She finished breathlessly. The moon was casting its faint light upon her face and I could see the glistening of tears in her eyes. The mighty Slayer with the strength and skill to fight evil was really a big romantic at heart whose eyes watered at the mere mention of our love. I moved in slowly and kissed her lips. It wasn't a sexual kiss fueled with heat or desire. It was soft and caring kiss fueled with love.

We stood there in the dark and just hugged. I had forgotten how unbelievably intimate a hug could be...especially with someone you love. Her heart was beating strong against my chest and I felt her hands on my back as she gently stroked me. I held her close to me and whispered softly in her ear "I'll die for you Buffy."

As the words came out of my mouth I felt her grip tighten around me. She was holding on strong...afraid of ever letting go. After a while she loosened her grip and pulled back looking into my eyes "Oh I almost forgot...I brought goodies." She said and pointed at the back pack she'd been carrying around all night.

I smiled and squinted my eyes at her in curiosity "I wondered what you had in there. Especially since you wouldn't let me touch it."

"I couldn't...it would have spoiled the surprise." She explain. Opening the back pack she pulled out a picnic blanket, four big round candles, and snacks.

"A night picnic?" I shriek in delight. "I have the most romantic girlfriend on the face of the Earth!" I exclaimed. "But isn't this kind of dangerous?" I add a bit frightened.

"Oh come'on Will. We live on a Hellmouth. Our bathroom is dangerous...according to you, that is!" She smiles rubbing her forehead a little reminding me of unfortunate bathroom accident. "Besides...I'm here to protect you." She finished with a longing gaze.

I knelt on the ground beside her, took off my shoes, and adjusted my skirt to make myself comfortable. Buffy had already finished unpacking the contents of her back pack and was busy lighting the candles. I looked over the snacks and couldn't help but laugh.

"Half a pack of ritz crackers, a velveeta cheese stick, and one diet coke bottle?" I ask amused. She looked at me and shrugged.

"Don't make me feel bad...it's all we had at home. It's not like we're Iron Chefs!" She explained. I giggle a little at the vision of Buffy wearing a giant chef hat.

"It's ok Baby... I'm not really that hungry." I say as I lay down across the picnic blanket stretching lazily like a cat. She layed next to me and propped her head up with her hand, resting on her elbow.

With a seductive look in her eyes she began teasing me. "That's a mighty short skirt you slapped on when I asked you to accompany me today on PATROL?!?" She said jockingly. "If I didn't know any better I'd think you were trying to seduce me Ms. Rosenberg." I looked at her and smiled. She caught me. Imitating her position I rolled over to my side and propped up my head as well. We were face to face now and our bodies were mere inches away from each other. I could feel the warmth of her breath on my skin as she breathed in and out.

"Did it work?" I ask winking at her.

Reaching down she begins running her hand up my bare leg, over my knee, and rests on my thigh for a moment. "You could've come dressed in a plastic sauna suit and still have easily seduced me Will...I got a thing for red heads...I can't help it." She said with a sexy smile. Her finger tips were drawing small circles on the skin of my thigh and I felt my body ooze at her touch. The night was a little chilly and I scooted closer to her to stop from shivering.

"Are you cold Baby?" She said softly into my ear and started running her hand up and down my thigh trying to warm me. I nodded in agreement as I rubbed my cold nose against hers. With each soft stroke, her hand went higher and higher up my thigh until finally she made her way up my skirt. I knew where she was going and was amused at the way she did it slowly and discretely as if asking for permission. She continued her routine until she finally reached my butt. That's when I saw her eyes bug out. The look was priceless.

"You're not wearing any underwear!!" She exclaimed in surprise. I felt my face burn and closed my eyes for modesty.

"You skank!!" She shrieked teasingly. "You WERE planning on seducing me!!!"

"Well DUH!!! I've only been begging you to go home for the last hour." I burst out exasperated.

"I can't help it Buffy. You got me addicted to the hot lovin." I continued whining in my defense. Sitting up with a bolt I utter excitedly, "Quick... if we run really fast we can be home in ten minutes. It could be a race! A sex race!" I finished nodding at my own idea. Yeah that sounded cool!

"Oh no! You're not getting out of this one that easily." She said shacking her head at me. I recognized that look and no no no no no no no no no...this is bad...this is very bad.

"What??? No way...this is outside Buffy!!! Are you nuts??? Vampires??? Demons??? Zombies?? Werewolves?? Incubi??? Succubi??? Is any of this ringing a bell???" I had loss all sense of logic already and was just spurting out scary words to bring her to her senses.

"I'll tell you what...we'll make a deal...If you let me roam around a while under your skirt, I'll keep my eye out for any badness and wait for my turn until we get home....deal?" She proposed looking at me with crazed eyes. That's it!! She's gone nuts!!!

"Deal?" I ask mockingly.

"Done!" She exclaimed as she pulled me on top of her.

"Hey hold on that was a question not a statement!!!" I shriek. I heard the sound of her giggles as she rolled us over until she was on top and I was on the bottom. I looked up at her and saw her beautiful face surrounded by a cascade of golden hair. Taking my face into her hands she smiled at me as she caressed my cheeks lightly with her thumbs and asked, "Do you trust me Will?"

"With my life." I exhaled nervously. She leaned in and softly kissed my forehead, then my nose, and then my chin. She ran her lips over my face gently caressing my skin before pulling back to finish her statement, "Then let me make you happy...I won't let anything harm you." She said gazing into my eyes.

Lifting my head off the ground momentarily, I searched for her lips with mine. Yes...a kiss was my response. We kissed passionately, tasting each others lips hungrily as if for the first time. Her hands slowly found their way back to my thighs. Running one hand over each thigh simultaneously she hiked my skirt up until it was over my waist. I felt the cold night air breeze between my legs and a chill ran through my body.

"I'm cold Buffy." I whispered in a soft voice.

"Don't worry Will...I'll fix that." She responded before her head ducked out of sight.

Now...her usual routine was to tease me for a while. Raining me with licks and kisses everywhere but where I needed it the most...but this time she didn't waste any time. I felt her warm tongue as it invaded me and my entire body shock as I groaned out a loud startled response.

Pleased with herself, I felt her tongue disappear as she smiled against my sex and followed up with a small kiss. She liked it when I was loud, I could feel it.

"Oh Buffy please..." I pleaded softly reaching down and running my fingers through her hair.

Instantly her oral caresses intensified. I could hear the muffled sounds of her mouth at work and feel the soft texture of her tongue as it danced along my sex. The pressure between my legs was building steadily and my groans of pleasure were becoming louder with every pant.

Suddenly all the muscles of my body contracted all at once. My breathing paused and my vision blurred. The familiar bright light that accompanied my orgasms appeared.

**There was a woman with long blonde hair standing before me. Her face looked oddly familiar but my eyes could not focus. I rub my fists into my eyes and when I look down at my hands they were full of blood. I can feel a huge pain...in my heart...it is unbearable. The pain is so much I cannot breathe. I've lost something...something very important to me. I look at the blonde and recognize her expression...she was feeling the same way I was. Her face was contorted with confused anguish and her naked body was drenched in blood. She extended her hand out to me with tears in her eyes. I reached out to touch her and was suddenly hit by a wave of water. My body floated aimlessly in a vast ocean of pain...all alone.**

I woke to the feel of her warm kisses on my neck. She had nuzzled her body close to mine and covered us both with half of the picnic blanket....we looked like a cocoon.

"You tasted good." She whispered with a dirty smile. She knows how much that trash talk embarrasses me. I think she does it to watch me squirm....little does she know I'm not only getting used to it but I'm also starting to enjoy it.

As our tradition, she asked "What did you see this time Will?"

We'd always share each others visions. But this time I wasn't sure if I wanted to share the image with her. Unlike past visions I was left with a disturbed feeling. Still feeling the remnants of the pain from the visions my eyes swelled with tears. Buffy noticed immediately and sat up concerned.

"What's wrong Will?" She asked.

I couldn't find the words to form into sentences to explain what had transpired in my visions. Tears streamed steadily down my face and Buffy's expression was tensing.

"Oh Willow! I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I made you do this. I should have stopped. I knew you didn't want to. I'm so so sorry...Baby please stop crying....Baby.." I silenced her lips with my finger. She always jumps to the wrong conclusion and sometimes I just got to shut her up before she works herself into a frenzy.

"No no Buffy!! It was wonderful...YOU were wonderful... It's not that at all. It was the vision." I finish vaguely.

"Oh...not THAT vision again!!" She said teasingly annoyed. "For the last time Will...you were right, being the Slayer does not make me the boss, you're spells always worked, you were always much more than just my sidekick, and when I get bossy and angry my face DOES look fifty-fifty." She finished rolling her eyes and speaking in a monotone voice. I couldn't help but smile....yep that fight was going to follow us around for a long time.

"No silly! It was a different vision. I didn't see you this time. There was a naked lady in it...she looked familiar but not at the same time...her body was full of blood and when I held out my hand to help her I was washed away into the ocean."

"Have you been messing with the magic weed again?" Buffy asked with amusement.

"No...." I looked at her with a chastising gaze but continued to explain anyway "The worst part was not what I saw...but what I felt. So much pain Buffy. I thought my heart was being torn out." I finished softly.

"Was it a vision of the future? Perhaps a prophesy?" She asked getting into Slayer mode.

"Nope...it was definitely a memory. It felt like a memory. The feeling was too strong. It was very dejavuish ."

We laid there both silently with our thoughts for a while. So many images running through my head. So many questions left unanswered. That's when I felt it. My body was overrun with fear.

"We have to go Buffy. NOW! I feel danger." I said getting up quickly.

"What are you talking about Will? There isn't a vamp in site." She finished.

I stood, closed my eyes, and took a slow turn feeling the world around me. There was something that wasn't sitting right. Danger was approaching.

"Not Vamp danger...I feel something worse...something powerful." I explained.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

This dump was just as I remembered it....BORING!! The only thing that made Sunnydale moderately appealing was the Demon population that I loved pummeling. Kicking ass was my thing...Hell...kicking ass IS my thing! But I'm here with a different purpose.

I grab my bags from the luggage pick up area and continue walking on. The automatic doors of the airport swing opened as I walked out. There was a cab driver leaning against his car on the side of the curb. I made my way through the small crowd of people and placed my bags on the floor in front of the cab driver.

"Where to?" He asked.

"Sixteen thirty Rivelo, it's a house, Rivelo near Hadley. Do you know where it is?" I asked. He nodded in agreement and I got in.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I tapped on the dorm door lightly. It wasn't long before I heard the wrestling of movement inside. A few seconds later the door opened and a blond head meagerly peeked out. She looked a little frightened...probably wasn't used to getting visitors.

"Tara?" I asked.

"Y-yes. H-how can I h-help you?" She said in return.

"Hi. My name is Amy. We met about a month ago at Buffy's house...remember?" I explained.

"Sure sure...I remember. You're Amy the rat...well...not anymore of course...We were sort of roomies for a while..." She spoke softly but trailed off when she noticed I wasn't too amused.

"I'm here about Willow. Something terrible is about to happen and I need your help." I said softly.

She opened the door without a second thought and let me in. "Please have a seat." She said motioning to the bed.

"What happened?" She asked, her eyes filled with concern.

"Well...nothing yet...but something will happen soon. You see...sometimes I can foresee the future. It's weird, I know, it's a thing I got from my mom...she was very powerful. Anyways...I had a vision of Willow. It was very scary Tara and I think it was all my fault. I pushed her off the edge with the magic...showed her places she should have never seen." The look in Tara's eyes was overwhelming. Pure fear.

"Here...I'll show you." I stood and walked over to where Tara was sitting. Placing my hand on her chest I transfer the vision that I'd been describing to her...hmph....it's an old Sorcerer's trick that Rack taught me...but it gets the newbies all the time.

My hand began to glow a light bluish tone and Tara closed her eyes. There in her vision was a picture of an evil Willow in the Magic Box. Her hair and eyes were jet black as little bolts of magic crackled from her fingers. She was engaged in a fierce battle with the Slayer and was winning. The battle progressed steadily and many casualties were involved, but in the end the Magic Box was destroyed and evil Willow was the only one left standing.

Tara pulled away from me in fear. She didn't want to see anymore. It was too much for her. The sight of Willow in such a state brought her great pain. Wimp!

"Oh Goddess...what do we do?" She asked in shock.

"Come with me...we have to start preparing." I explained. I watched as she nervously walked around the room rounding up supplies and dumping them in her bag....Yes...underestimation is my biggest advantage.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

We walked in silence the rest of the way home. Neither of us knew where to begin... what to say. We weren't even holding hands anymore...

"So when were you going to tell me you were a Jedi Knight?" She asked bitterly, but the question completely flew over my head.

"What?" I replied confused.

"You know ... the little 'spinning with eyes closed' routine ... 'I feel danger'..." She said mockingly. "The force in you strong is!" She said in her imitation Yoda voice at the end. Now she was just being down right sarcastic.

"I've been feeling things for a few days now...people...emotions...it's weird...I didn't want to worry you." I explained.

"RIGHT!!! Why should YOU worry ME? It's not like I'm your girlfriend or anything...WAIT!!!...I am huh??? Well that would make YOU totally my business!!" Oh yeah ...she was pissed...now would be a really bad time to tell her that Tara was the first to find out about it.

I turned to her to try to explain when out of nowhere a team of vamps showed up...probably four or five of them. They had caught us totally off guard in the middle of our argument, Buffy didn't even have her stake handy...she had placed it in her back pack next to the Velveeta Cheese.

What happened next, however, was nothing short of amazing... I saw her blonde hair as it flashed by me. Her speed was unbelievable. I had never seen anything move so fast. Taking three on at a time she was throwing kicks and punches like they were going out of style. The only thing heard were the Vampires grunts of pain. A right hook, a left jab, a kick here, kick there...she was all over the place and nowhere all at once.

I was in shocked wonder at the sight of this fight. I had seen her fight a thousand times but never like this. She was stronger, fiercer, and faster than ever before. I was so busy watching her that I didn't see the other two vamps sneak up behind me. Each one grabbed one of my arms and started dragging me backwards into some near by bushes.

"Buff.." I started to scream her name but was silenced by the cold hand that covered my mouth. Once the first vampire had taken control of me, the other left to join in the battle against Buffy.

The vamp shoved me to the floor knocking my head against a tree trunk. I felt a little dizzy but was quickly awakened by the fear of what happened next. He had climbed on top of me and was pinning my hands down to the floor. As he was straddling me the weight of his body was crushing my small frame making it hard for me to breathe. Leaning in really close he growled in my face "I've always wanted to taste a Witch."

He pulled back a little to get momentum for his attack when out of nowhere Buffy appeared. Her look was fierce....pure anger. She kicked his head with the strongest force I had ever seen. So hard that his head came clear off. Instantly his body turned into a cloud of dust as it landed all over my body. There she stood before me panting fiercely with a coat of sweat covering her body.

"Are you ok Will?" She asked roughly.

"Fine." I said in the same tone as hers. I got up and dusted myself off.

"So....when were you going to tell me about Super Slayer?" I asked giving her a bit of the same medicine.
