That's an extremely convincing argument, actually.
If I had seen the episode in question, I'd be happy to add my 2p, but as I
have another six months at the least then all I can say is that Riley would
have pushed anybody out of the way - yes it's wrong to hit girls, but it's
also wrong to hit boys and if he'd done it to Xander I'd just be
sniggering. The fact that it's Willow makes me annoyed, sure, but there's a
huge amount of sexist discrimination going on here, and just because it's
against men doesn't mean we should do it.
And it proves that sometimes BTVS can cut to the chase and provide us with
an actual moral discussion. See, it's not just pure escapism after all.
