Song for Next Part

Hey.

Okay. In the next part of the "Who Am I?" Series, there's gonna be a
Buffy/Faith dance scene at the Bronze, and I'm gonna use a song to "play"
over during the scene. It's not a DMB song (you may stop gasping now :=).

It's called, "Pawns in the Sea" and want to know what you guys think of it,
mainly, well...cause I wrote it. Specifically for B and F and the scene. So
let me know, okay? I'm not really much of a song writer, but I couldn't find
a prewritten song good enough.

And if you need a musical frame of reference, that fast beat stuff Faith
always dances too, kinda loud, you know....

PAWNS IN THE SEA

This is our game and we have control,
We make the moves and we make the rules,
But maybe we're just being fooled

In a sea of chance we wound up together
Never really questioned where we found ourselves
Never really wondered about forever

Are we just pawns moving at life's pace?
Under the illusion that this is our race?
Is the struggle really worth the reward at the end?

Before you came my foundations were solid,
Limits tested and boundaries set,
Other side and I had never met

You appeared and reality distorted,
The game's rules were aborted,
Got to see beyond my sphere

Are we just pawns moving at life's pace?
Under the illusion that this is our race?
Is the struggle really worth the reward at the end?

It's not good to be too bad and too bad to be too good,
Separate we can't find that even ground,
Maybe together we could

Don't know when you became my lifeline,
From the walls I let confine,
But we're the game's key players now

We are one in the sea

Are we just pawns moving at life's pace?
Under the illusion that this is our race?
Is the struggle really worth the reward at the end?

"I have misplaced my pants." (Homer J. Simpson)

"You know what the secret of life is?"
"Your finger?"
"One thing. Just one thing."
"That's great, but what's the one thing?"
"That's what you gotta figure out."
(Jack Palance, Billy Crystal, City Slickers)

"I heard your heartbeat." (Buffy Summers, to Angel, ANGEL)
