I've read this story. It's set in an Xena alternate universe which as been
labelled 'Blood and Roses' by Katrina who started that fic before Sharon
Bowers took it over.

The stories set in that universe inspired me to start my own little series
of fic's and create the Codex universe. (OK it's Willow/Angel based but as
X/G)
