Buffy Wins at MTV Movie Awards - Associated Press:
CULVER CITY, Calif. (AP) - Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar took home awards for best kiss and best female performance at the MTV Movie Awards on Saturday night for her role in the 1999 film "Cruel Intentions."
Gellar and co-star Selma Blair won the "best kiss award for their up close and personal pucker in the movie about love and betrayal.
"I just want to thank Selma for my most rewarding kiss on-screen ever," Gellar, star of the TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," said before turning to Blair and giving her a quick smooch on the lips.

Among the, um, highlights: Mark Wahlberg picked his own nominee for Best Villain ("let`s give it to Charlton Heston for being head of the NRA"), Samuel L. Jackson offered up a speech that'll need very careful bleeping, and Sarah Michelle Gellar got wet and sloppy both with fellow Best Kiss winner Selma Blair, and with boyfriend Freddie Prinze Jr.
Oh yeah, and there were awards, too. Aside from her Best Kiss prize, Gellar also took home Best Female Performance honors for her role as the temptress in the Dangerous Liaisons teen update, Cruel Intentions.

The other multiple winners this year were spy spoof "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" and "Cruel Intentions" with two prizes each.
The latter film, a contemporary update of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" targeted to the teen audience, won prizes for best kiss (between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair) and best female performance (Gellar).
Gellar and Blair briefly kissed on stage when they picked up their joint award, and Gellar later made a point of smooching with boyfriend Freddie Prinze Jr. before going up for the second time. Blair thanked Gellar for the "hours of practice."
