about that butcher block... no, its not the kitchen island - the bar where they sit. the only episode that comes to mind at the moment where you see the butcher block clearly is in 'dead man's party' where the cat runs into the kitchen while joyce is about to take out the garbage. i might have to think about other episodes... for all i know, its not a permanent part of the set. but i know from that ep that it was near the door... only in my head i had envisioned it being a little further from the wall... but anyway, reason why i thought of it... i have one. :)
