Willow and Buffy are awakened by knocking on the door. When Willow answers it she finds
her mother staning there.

"Mom, hi." she greets. "What brings you here?"

Sheila enters the room and looks around. "I just came to see how my daughter was doing."

"Morning, Mrs. Rosenberg." Buffy sleepily greets.

"Hello, Muffy." She walks to a window. "You girls should let in some sun." She opens the
curtain letting in the sun.

Buffy yelps and pulls the blanket over her head.

Sheila yanks the covers off the bed revealing a nude Buffy, who yells and rolls under the
bed.

Willow closes the curtain and shoves a robe under the bed.

"Mom, what did you think you were doing?" she demands glaring.

"I would like to know as well." says Buffy coming out.

"A friend of mine claims she saw you two kissing." is the answer. "And only one bed looks
slept in. Explain yourself!"

Willow looks at Buffy, who returns a look of love and support.

"Well, Mom." Willow starts. "Buffy was hurt. And I... And she... And we... And Giles..."

"Mrs. Rosenberg, I love your daughter, and she loves me." Buffy explains. She walks over
and puts an arm around Willow.

"That's right, Mom." agrees Willow, relaxing into the embrace.

"That's not right!" snorts Mrs. R. "What's right is you are coming home right now. We will
see that you get help. She has obviously brainwashed you, or something."

"Ah, well. She married me." says Willow. "After I proposed." She and Buffy show their
rings to Mrs. R.

Sheila looks at Willow. She looks at Buffy. She opens her mouth to say something, she
wasn't sure what. Then her eyes roll back and she faints. Buffy catches her before she
hits the floor.

"That could have gone better." Buffy mutters.

When Mrs. R wakes up, she finds herself laying on the unused bed.

"Was I dreaming?" she asks. "Did you really say married?"

"Yes, Mom." is the quiet answer. "I said married."

"Why her? What happened to that musician, Izzy?"

"His name was Oz, and he left."

"Were you in trouble?" continues the perplexed woman. "You could have come to us."

"No Mrs. Rosenberg, I was in trouble." answers Buffy. "And she saved me from a fate worse
then death, literally."

"Yeah, right!" snorts Sheila. "What is worse than death to your kind?"

"Just existing." says Buffy vamping out. "I am a vampire. It is thanks to the love of your
daughter that I have a soul."

"Vampires don't exist. Do they?"

"Check the mirror, Mom." offers Willow.

"What keeps you from killing her?" Mrs. R demands of Buffy.

"Two things. One, I love her more than I can say." says the vampire. "Two, she was changed
as well. She grows new blood as fast as I can drink it."

"Why weren't we invited, then?" asks Mrs. R.

"Well Mom." Willow starts. "You were out of town. And we had to do it before Buffy lost
control and hurt someone."

"You two are coming to dinner tonight." Mrs. R informs the two younger women. "You can
eat?"

"Yeah, but I don't get any nourishment from it." she gets told. "And other blood tastes
bad."

"Right. See you at 7." with this Mrs. R leaves.

That evening, after sunset, Buffy was pounding on Giles' door.

"They took her." she was sobbing. "The Rosenbergs took my Will."

"Calm down." her watcher responded. What do you mean, They took her?"

"Her mother burst in before I got up, this morning." comes the tearful explanation. "After
she learned we were married, she invited us to dinner. I don't think she believed the
vampire part. She went first, because of the sun. When I got there, the house looked
deserted. No one answered when I knocked. I finally broke in through the back door."

"You broke in?" asks Giles. "Were you invited in ever?"

"No." she answers. "Not since... you know. Anyway the house was empty. No furniture, no
parents, and most importantly, *no Willow!*" Buffy is wailing by this time. "Where Would
they take her?"

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile Willow comes to. She looks around and realises that she is on a jet going
somewhere.

"Oh good." she hears her mother say. "You are awake."

"Mom, where are we?"

"Never mind." her father replies. "It is for your own good."

"Where are we?" Willow is shouting by this time. "Where is Buffy?"

"You are never to mention her again!" Ira says. "That person is no good for you."

Willow opens her mouth to protest, but feels the prick of a needle and goes out again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Back in Sunnydale, Buffy has gone to a Wicca friend of Willows for help.

"So that's the story, Tara." she finishes. "Can you help me find her?"

"We-well I need something of hers." Tara stammers.

Buffy hands her a scarf. Tara murmurs a spell and holds the scarf over a world map. One
corner of the scarf sticks to the map.

"Why would they take her there?" Buffy looks again. "Oh yeah. Thanks Tara."

"No problem." responds the blond witch. "I hope you find her."

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"They took her where!" Xander yells.

"Tel Aviv." responds Buffy. "In Israel. I guess her parents decided to get back to their
roots. And drag Willow along."

Giles picks up the phone and arranges for a trip to for Tel Aviv.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

"I don't know. Mrs. Rosen." the doctor explains. "There is nothing to explain the symptoms
you daughter is experiencing. And her blood type is like none I have ever seen."

When they get back to the apartment they find Mr. R at home.

"Still can't find a job huh." grins Willow. "When the authorities find out that you
kidnapped me, and keep me chained, you will have real problems."

"Shut up!" snaps her father. "We are doing this for you, after all."

"No father." returns the redhead. "You are doing it for you."

"All we have to do is wait until that vampire starves to death so things can go back to
normal." explains Ira.

"Father, let me explain." says the tired Willow. "If she dies, *I* will die. That is the
nature of the spell that binds us."

"You are lying." her mother says slapping her. "Witches and vampires don't exist."

"Then why did you try to burn me at the stake?" asks her daughter. "You tied me up, piled
books at my feet, doused them in gasoline and set fire to them. Why do that if we don't
exist?"

Sheila gets a stunned look on her face as she remembers doing just that. "I thought it was
a dream, a horrible dream."

"It doesn't matter." says Ira. "If we aren't there, then it doesn't affect us."

"Buffy will find me!" insists Willow.

They are interrupted by someone knocking at the door. Sheila opens it to find Giles and
Buffy.

Buffy shoves Sheila aside and goes straight to Willow. "Oh Willow, I was afraid we would
never find you."

"Hey, how did she get in?" yells Ira. "I thought vampires couldn't enter unless invited."

"Yes, well, it would appear that married vampires can enter wherever their spouse is."
explains Giles.

"Married?" screams Sheila. "Two women can't marry."

"Not legally maybe." Giles agrees. "But those two women have bound themselves together in
such a way that it really is 'til death do them part'"

Buffy looks at her partner. "You don't look so good Will." She glares at the Rosenbergs.
"What have you been doing to her?"

"We were saving her from you." snarls Ira. "How long before you turn on her. Kill her or
turn her into a vampire."

"I can't." smirks the vampire. "If she dies, I starve."

"Father, look at her." injects Willow. "She has been going hungry and sleepless since you
kidnapped me. And my health reflects hers."

"It wasn't kidnap!" insists Mrs. Rosenberg. "It was for your own good."

"My Own Good!?" splutters the red head. "I haven't slept the whole time, except when you
drugged me. And that doctor couldn't figure out what is wrong."

"We will do anything to separate you two." insists Ira.

"Even killing you own daughter?" asks Giles.

"If that is what it takes? Then Yes." comes the reply. " I will do whatever it takes to
save her soul."

"Dinner time." interrupts Sheila. "There is plenty for all."

"What's for dinner?" asks Ira.

"Mushroom soup." responds his wife. "Made with those lovely mushrooms you brought home
yesterday."

Giles looks at the mushrooms and gets an 'oh hell' look on his face. "Those are Goatsfoot
mushrooms." he groans. "How long has she been eating them."

"All week." answers Sheila. "What do they do?"

"They block her power." answers the watcher.

"With no witch powers she is of no use to you, so I win." says Ira with an evil grin.

"Wrong!" yells Buffy. "I married her because she is strong and good and my very best
friend and I love her." By this time Willow is hugging Buffy. "The witch part comes
extra."

"Mr. Rosenberg, blocking a practising witch's power will cause her painful death." Giles
gets out between gritted teeth.

"How painful?" asks Sheila. She is starting to look very ill herself.

"Like every nerve ending in her body is on fire." responds Giles. "And it takes about a
week to kill the victim. Since your daughter is immortal it won't kill her. But she will
experience the pain."

"That explains the headaches." says Sheila. "The doctor could find nothing to explain it.
And the pills are getting less effective."

"I think I know a treatment." says Buffy showing her game face. "Come here Willow." She
sinks her fangs into Willow and drinks for a good 10 minutes. When she stops Willow is
looking much better.

"I needed that." moaned Willow, rubbing her neck.

"You think you needed it!" exclaims Buffy, wiping her mouth. "I haven't eaten in a week."

"What did you do to my daughter?" asks Mrs. R.

"Any normal person would be drunk dry." explains Buffy. "She is immortal and makes blood
as fast as she bleeds. I made her replace her entire blood supply."

"Buffy, are you alright?" asks Willow. "I had a lot of drugs in my system."

"I'm fine." Buffy starts to sway. "I think."

Giles looks Buffy over. "She will be fine." he decides. "Since she isn't a witch the
goatsfoot won't affect her. She will sleep the other drugs off."

"Fine, we are leaving." insists Willow. "Goodbye Father. Goodbye Mother. This is the
second time you've almost killed me. And this time you don't have a demon as an excuse."

"Willow!" cries her mother. "I am sorry. Can you forgive me?"

"I will think about it." Willow replies. "Call us."

"If you leave, you can forget college!" yells Ira. "I won't pay another cent."

Willow looks at him in disgust. "Full scholarship, remember?"

Giles and the two young women leave. They stop at an all you can eat buffet, where Willow
proceeds to make the owners very unhappy.

They then head for the airport and the council's private plane. On the plane they fall
asleep in each others arms.
