Buffy and Willow sat high in a tree on the campus of UC Sunnydale, watching the wanna-blessed-be's hold a Waning Gibbus celebration.

Xander had been sent home after he continued to drool over some of the low cut and sheer clothing many of the girls wore for the event.

"Are they even doing it right?" Buffy lounged on a thick stable branch, her legs folded overlapping Willow's comfortably.

"No. But the one in the red's coming pretty close" Willow gestured with her chin.

"The one with the boobs?" Buffy broke of a piece of the crunch bar she and Willow were sharing "You know that Xander was oogling his eye-sight away at?"

"Yeh. I think her name's Molly or something" Willow blushed at Buffy's choice of identification.

"What about the one behind her? Looks like's she's doing the same thing" Buffy nudged Willow playfully.

"Oh the other one with the boobs?" Willow asked straightfaced.

"Yeah. Who's she?" Buffy chuckled.

"That's Tya. Really really gay" Willow nodded "Sweet, kinda funny, I think she's a natural talent. But the wanna-be's are slowing her down"

"She's gay?" Buffy made a confused face "There's gay wiccans?"

"There's gay everything Buffy" Willow rolled her eyes at her friend and finished off the chocolate.

"There's gay rabbits?" Buffy wiggled her nose comically.

"Yep. Gay as gay can be" Willow assured Buffy going with the joke.

"There's someone coming up behind us" Buffy said normally "Human, but whatever it is has some kinda energy coming off it"

"Oh might be a witch" Willow looked down and back. All she could see was shadow, and darkness "What I would give for night vision" Willow muttered leaning back up.

"Well that would be great Willow. But whoever it is is coming from the 'other' behind us" Buffy gently turned Willow's head by touching her cheek.

Willow tried valiantly not to sigh at the warm touch.

"Now look down" Buffy smiled and turned once again to watch the wanna-blessed-be's ruin a perfectly wonderful moon ceremony.

Taryn crept up to the campus and hid behind the largest oak tree. Sticking close to the trunk she observed.

The women dancing around the small fire and 'artifacts' seemed carefree and youthful. Sighing she settled back to watch the festivities she'd like to join, but doubted she'd be welcome.

"Even if they're doing it wrong"

"Yeah but they're doing it with their whole hearts"

Taryn jumped and glanced around her. She couldn't see where the voice had come from, or whose voice it was.

"Look up. Oh never mind I'll just come down"

Taryn stepped back as a pair of denim clad legs hung before her, followed by a slim form and mop of red hair that framed a subtely angelic face.

"Uh hi" Taryn gave a nervous little wave. She didn't know who the gorgeous redhead was. But she knew enough that she lived on a Hellmouth with some rather 'un' friendly creatures.

"Hi. I'm Willow" the witch held out a hand "I didn't think there was anyone else in Sunnydale that would know they're doing that festival wrong"

Taryn accepted to offered hand internally breathing a sigh of relief at the warmth of the skin. She'd learned the hard way that cold hands didn't mean a warm heart (or a beating one for that matter) in Sunnydale.

"I'm..I'm Taryn" Taryn tried not to stare, she'd never been this close to comeone as beautiful as the witch before her. All the popular girls at her High School usually avoided her like a plague.

"Well Taryn-" Willow was cut off by a low growled 'shit' and terrified screams of the wanna-blessed-be's in the quad.

The women were running in several different directions (effectively mimicking headless chickens) trying to avoid a large horned demon with festering skin.

"Now that's just gross" Willow frowned at the smell that began to permeate the area. It smelled dead, and partially under-cooked.

"Yeah" Taryn waved a hand in front of her nose.

Buffy launched herself from the tree aiming for the demon. Landing on it's back she wrapped her arms around it's neck and spun hoping to break it's neck.

Bending it threw her off.

Buffy landed skipping over the ground for several feet until she came to rest inches from a cowering wiccan.

"You know, when big horned things come after you it's a good idea to run?" she quipped before regaining her feet and attacking once again.

Willow and Taryn moved to the edge of the shadowed area and watched. Willow in speculation, Taryn in amazement.

"Who's she?" Taryn whispered not wanting to gain the demons unwanted attention.

"She's the slayer" Willow said waggling her brows "The best slayer"

"Oh. Sunnyhell has a slayer?" Taryn looked from Willow to the little blonde who was currently kicking demon ass.

"Yeah. And it sure needs her" Willow sat down and made a circle of salt "Can you hand me that pack" Willow pointed to ther knit bag several feet away.

"Sure" Taryn moved to retrieve the pack when she ran into a solid shadow.

A soft, warm, solid shadow. A soft, warm, solid, shadow with a mouth like a sailor.

"Fucken' fuck!"

Both leapt back.

Taryn grabbed the bag and hurried back to Willow.

"Thanks" the witch said without turning. All the things Willow knew she needed began to float from the pack and into her hands.

Keeping a steady eye on the fight she began to cast silently.

Taryn watched in amazement as the fight between the little blonde and the large (stinky) demon began to slow. First the demon stumbled letting out a roar that would've burst their eardrums had it not been so weak.

It began stumbling around in confusion, tripping over it's own feet, and bumping into things.

Everyone took a sigh of relief when it stumbled into the wanna-blessed-be's small fire and preceeded to go 'poof' leaving behind nothing but it's rancid odor.

Buffy made her way back over to the witches and sighed "Thanks Will. That thing was beyond ick"

"You can smell that again" Willow got to her feet kicking apart her circle.

"That was 'so' cool" Taryn hopped before visibly calming herself "What did you do to him?"

"He kept seeing himself. You know like a room of mirrors" Willow shrugged "Simple spell really"

"Maybe. But it was still cool" Taryn stared at Willow in amazement.

"Yeah Will. I'm going on the kid with this one" Buffy thumbed towards Taryn.

"I'm not a kid I'm 17" Taryn rolled her eyes.

"Ok 17 what's your name?" Buffy crossed her arms and gave the girl her best 'older person' look.

"Taryn. Taryn O'Neill" Taryn chuckled to herself "I've met the slayer. 'The' slayer. That's so cool"

"Sure it is. Now let's get you home" Buffy swung a preceeding arm and Willow wrapped her elbow around Taryn's.

"So how much 'do' you know about good ole Sunnyhell?" Willow started treating the girl like an old friend.

"I know it's the HellMouth" Taryn glanced back at Buffy "I'm not completely ignorant"

"Are you a witch?" Buffy stopped to pick up her hidden bag of toys.

"Something like that" Taryn admitted.

They walked on chatting like all was right in the world.

Faith watched them walk away. Amazed at how much they'd changed in the nearly two years since going into a coma.

"Red's the witch" she licked her red lips and eye'd the slayer and their new little friend.

"Now this is starting to get interesting"

Jamie jerked awake crying.

Carol was immediately at her side to comfort her.

Arica too left her spot on the chair and joined the two on the bed.

"Nightmares again?" Carol asked smoothing the tangled blonde locks away from her daughters eyes.

"Yes. I was running but he kept coming after me" Jamie sobbed into her mother's shirt.

"Aww baby I know, but just remember it's just a dream. It's not real" Carol lay back bringing Jamie's head to rest on her lap.

Arica curled up behind Jaime hoping both their presence' would make the little girl feel better.

"But it was different this time Mommy. There was this girl. She jumped on him. And a witch she confused him. They beat him Mommy I saw them" Jamie sat up quickly "I saw them. They..they were..."

"They were what baby?" Carol ran her fingers over her daughters wet cheeks.

Jamie sat in thought for several minutes "I've seen them before. They were the one's in the graveyard"

"You were in the graveyard? On a HellMouth!?" Arica squealed turning to girl to face her "Have you completely lost your mind!"

"No that's where that weird girl chased me. I lost her in the trees" Jamie took a deep breath "Then I ran into some boy and he ran away screaming. Then something pulled me out, and they were there"

"They who?" Carol and Arica chorused.

"The boy and the two girls from my dream. I asked them not to hurt me. I just wanted to go home. She let me go" Jamie calmed and began to make sense of her hellish night.

"She let you go? She who?" Arica gently turned Jamie to face her "Do you know who she is James?"

Jamie shook her head "I should but I don't"

Sliding two fingers to the little girl's temples Arica began to go through her memory. All the things she'd gone through that night, flowed between the two. The chase, the escape into the trees. The graveyard.

Arica released the girl in surprise when she recognized what Jamie couldn't.

"You're one very special girl Jamie Veronica" Arica took a deep breath and faced Carol "This girl. Her dream savior, her Ghandi. Is the slayer"

Carol's jaw dropped "But...she...what?"

"The slayer. Showed her mercy. Even in her demon form" Arica mulled over it. Something just wasn't clicking.

"Is that a bad thing?" Jamie looked between her two elders.

Neither had a clue what to say.

Carol tucked her back in. Curling around her child to comfort both of them.

Arica returned to her chair. She had alot of thinking to do.

The slayer, showing mercy to a demon.

But the girl who'd chased her, had not been considering mercy.

But she was a slayer.

Two?
