Chapter six
When they entered the Library, Giles was at the table looking through a book and Xander was trying to calm down Cordy, though why Buffy didn't know.
"Oh god it's back!" Cordy moved as if to leave then remembered Buffy and Willow were blocking the only way out. She scurried behind Xander, not even realising she was doing it.
Willow stepped forward and tried to calm the situation down but before she could speak Giles stood and walked to stand in front of Buffy.
"How do you feel?" The question was not what Buffy was expecting. She was expecting his fear but instead she got his concern.
"I'm good Giles, kinda hungry though." This was said with a look directed at Cordy, which had her burying her face in Xander's back. A slight nudge from Willow and the Demon backed off turning instead to look at her Mate.
"Yes, well, what exactly is happening?"
Buffy stared long and hard at him wondering just what he was asking. "I woke up soulless." She decided to be blunt and direct to see the reaction.
Giles blanched and grabbed Willow's arm to drag her away from Buffy. He never made it very far. With a growl and a lunge Buffy had Willow back in her arms and was growling warningly at Giles to back off.
"What is your problem!?"
"You are no-longer our Buffy. What's to stop you from killing us all?"
Buffy flinched though she really should have known better; he did try to stake her after all.
"Look, I'm not gonna kill you lot. Just because I'm a Demon doesn't mean that I have no sense of right, it just means that I don't really care about it. Willow knows that I'm not gonna start snacking on the populace so just chill out and back the fuck off before I get angry."
"Well, forgive us for not taking the word of a soulless Vampire! What makes you any different from the ones we kill on a nightly basis?"
Xander had kept quiet but now he moved forward as he spoke. For some reason he didn't really feel that much fear towards the Vampire and he was confused. He really wanted to believe the Vampire standing before him, he had already mourned Buffy once, and he didn't want to have to do that again.
Buffy turned her head to face Xander. She looked hard at him before answering. She knew that he wasn't really scared of her and she was surprised at that.
"For one thing, if I wanted you dead you would be - believe me.' She paused and let the truth of that statement sink in. "For another, do you really think you could kill me? I was a Slayer, now I'm a Vamp. Combine the powers and you get me. You guys really have no idea of the strength I have now." She paused and looked towards Giles before continuing. "I was trained to believe that all Vampires were just cold vicious killers, and that's true but we can control ourselves around humans. Around family. Willow had me chose: her of the killing. No way was I giving her up so can we please move on?"
Willow had had enough and stepped from Buffy's side. Buffy looked over at her, silently asking why she moved. She got her answer almost straight away.
"GUYS enough! She isn't going to hurt anyone. Can we please stop arguing and find out why my girlfriend went postal and had her teeth in Cordy's neck or do you wanna argue some more?"
Buffy knew by the look Willow threw Cordy that she wasn't over the whole 'biting' thing. She was gonna have to make it up to her starting now plus she was getting very turned on by the forcefulness of her Mate right now.
Giles and Xander both backed off for now and Giles returned to his book.
"Well, when we were in England, Wesley informed me of a prophecy in the Codex referring to a turned Slayer. It's only happened three times. The council has killed two before they rose and the third is you Buffy so I'm guessing it's about you."
"Goodie" Buffy was more interested in nuzzling her Mates neck to listen, though she did when Willow moved away from her again and sat at the table, letting her know that she wanted to hear about this.
"It's been translated already, it seems Wes did more than just read the book." He paused as everyone sat down to listen. "It reads:
And the Slayer shall fall into the clutches of the devil and she shall become the very thing she hunts. The beast will be tamed and the balance will be altered though it will not effect what she is. A time will come when the beast is freed and it will have to make a choice. The balance will be in favour of the dark and the light will suffer. Until the balance is restored there will be the threat of the dark prevailing. Should this happen all will be lost and the studies if successful it will cause more harm than good.
That's it. Any comments?"
Buffy looked as if she was in deep thought so Xander spoke up.
"I take it the choice is whether or not to do evil? Well then choice has been made. Right?" The last was said looking at Buffy who raised her head.
She took in each of her present family one by one. Yes she had chose to not be evil, but what if she slipped? She would lose Willow and according to this prophecy, the choice was a key part. She wouldn't let anyone take her Mate away from her. Her decision was made the moment Willow had accepted her soul or not.
"Yeah Xand, the choice was made. I'm not going anywhere."
"Right, where did Cordy go? Never mind I don't care. Giles did you reach Buffy's mom yet?" Willow walked closer to Buffy and snuggled into her arms.
"No I was about to call her when all the commotion started. I'll do it now."
"Well lunch is over and I have class so I'll met you guys here later." Xander left leaving Buffy and Willow alone in the Library while Giles was making his call in his office.
Buffy knew that she and her lover had to have a talk so she took her up into the stacks where there were comfy seats and they both sat in a large soft chair with Willow straddling Buffy's lap.
"Are we going to talk about the bite or are you going to pretend that it doesn't bother you?"
"We talked about this and I trust you not to hurt anyone." Willow was looking down at her hands so Buffy raised her chin so she could look her in the eye.
"I'm not talking about the feeding. I'm talking about the fact that your jealous because I had my teeth in someone's neck and that someone wasn't you. Why are you jealous? I was going to kill Cordy what did you think..."
The question trailed off as Buffy looked into Willow's eyes and knew what she had thought when she saw the two of them together. Letting her Demon face come out after only just putting it away she licked her lips.
Lowering her head to Willow's neck her licked and nipped at the skin where her mark was without breaking it, waiting for Willow to tell her what to do. After a few minutes Willow put her hands behind Buffy's neck and pulled her harder down to her neck silently letting her know what she wanted.
The Vampire kissed the skin growling 'MINE' before sinking her fangs in and reclaiming her Mate yet again. She only took a few swallows before removing her fangs and letting her face return to normal before licking the few drops of blood that escaped and closing the wound. Knowing that Willow got as much pleasure as she did from this made the Vampire happy and content.
"I love you." Willow raised her head and moved into to place a small kiss on Buffy's mouth before saying it back. As the kiss progressed into something more Giles voice suddenly brought them back to themselves. Buffy shrugged unconcerned when she had her love this close and kept up her kissing and nuzzling of Willow's neck as Giles reached them.
"We have a problem."
That got both their attention.
"I was unable to speak with your mother but I did talk to John. It seems that he knows all about Joyce's life before she left America. At around 11.00am he says five men showed up at her door and shot him with a trank dart before grabbing her. He says that before the drug took effect he heard one of them speak. 'Get her to the council and tell Traver's that the package has been delivered.'"
Buffy removed Willow from her lap and stood up not saying a word before springing round and punching a hole through the wall, letting in a slight ray of sunlight and making her skin smoke. She never removed her hand but instead let it sizzle until Willow grabbed it and pulled her away. When she spoke Giles realised that although the Slayer and Buffy were gone, this Vampire was still very much their Buffy. And both of them knew that she was PISSED.
"Make the arrangements. Include you, Will, Me, Xand and two others in them. We are going to England and I'm personally going to mane or kill every single fucker who had a hand in taking her. And if she is hurt or worst, the council will burn."
Both Willow and Giles knew that she would make good on those promises and neither felt the need to call her on it.
Willow ran to get Xander and let him know what was going on and Giles organised the arrangements. Buffy stood in the same spot going over plans in her head.
The council had just declared war, though they didn't know it and Buffy was ready to bring out the big guns.
Reaching into her pocket she pulled out a cell phone that only had two numbers programmed into it. Hitting speed dial she waited for the first person to pick up.
"Yeah?
"It's me, I need your help."
"What's going on? Must be something big if you called me."
"It's my mom."
"Where do you want to meet?"
Buffy was glad he didn't question her anymore.
"Sunnydale. The local high school. Come to the Library, I'll be here."
"Right see you in a few hours then. Hey... you call her?"
"She's my next call after you. And thanks."
Buffy hung up and hit the second number and resumed her pacing unaware that Giles was watching her with worry over just who she was asking for help. If he remembered correctly, she never asked for help.
"This had better be good!" The growled voice made Buffy smile just a little.
"It's Buffy. I need your help, can you come to Sunnydale like today?"
"I'm in L.A now so that's not a problem. Where do you want to meet?"
"The local high school, come to the Library."
"Okay see you then, did you call him?" Buffy smirked, they had both asked that now.
"Yeah he's coming too. See you soon."
She disconnected and started to move to the main body of the Library when she saw Giles?
"Did you arrange transport?"
"Yes, the flight leaves at 10pm our time and arrives in London at 3pm English time so you will need some cover when leaving the plane but I have someone arranged to meet us as we exit so it should be fine. Who were you calling?"
Buffy wondered if he would believe what she told him so she decided to play a little. He would definitely be shocked when he met them.
"They should be here soon and then you'll see for your self. Hey Will, Xand." Turning to face the doors, sure enough Willow and Xander where there. Giles marvelled at the powers Buffy now had.
"Our guests for the trip will be here in a few hours. Go home and pack what you need and tell your parents something. Will, I'll meet you at your house, I'll take the tunnels and then we can head over to mine."
Buffy kissed Willow and left through the hidden entrance in the stacks to go to the basement and then the sewers while Willow, Xander and Giles went to there respective homes to collect the things they would need for the trip, all three of them wondering just who or what was going to be accompanying them.
