Part twelve

(a/n — had a reread of 12 and changed one or two things — and the Amy in my story is very different from Joss' version — Changed the whole Tara thing — decided I liked her two much — worth reading again to see the changes

"I just received a very enlightening phone call from an old friend concerning the council." Giles had just met them all in Buffy and Willow's room. It was ten thirty in the morning and while the Vampires were grumbling about being up so early during the day, they seemed to pick up and concentrate on what Giles had just said.

Everyone had noticed the teeth marks that had not yet healed on Buffy's neck but when Dusk commented on them, only Willow's grip stopped Buffy attacking her.

Buffy tightened her grip on Willow as Giles told them everything he had learned and only two thoughts kept repeating themselves in her head: they want me to hurt Will and someone has been leaking information.

Standing and setting Willow on the chair, she began pacing and thinking out a plan of action, but her thoughts kept coming back to her two thoughts.

Willow seemed to sense her restlessness and stood up before walking over to her and folding her into a hug and licking the healing bite marks she had left the night before. Out of the corner of her eye Buffy noticed that Dusk was openly glaring at the back to Willow's head, though she was the only one to notice and she suddenly knew who their spy was. It was Dusk.

Now came the hard part. Buffy's first instinct was to attack the bitch for all the trouble she had helped cause but then she paused and thought through the bloodlust for a moment.

"Troy, why don't you and Dusk go back and sleep? We're gonna need everyone in top form later." Although Buffy trusted Troy — even after his little slip up concerning Willow — she needed him to keep Dusk busy. Surprisingly enough he had agreed straight off and was already leading Dusk away before she could form a protest.

Buffy sat back down again with Willow in her lap. After burring her face in Willow's neck and breathing in her Mates scent, she began telling Xander, Giles and Willow the plan, already knowing that it was gonna be hard for both her and Willow to follow through with it even if it was necessary.

Five days later and Buffy was pacing the hotel room, game face intact and growling like a caged animal.

There still hadn't been an opportunity to confront Dusk and the council members involved, which they all now knew where Travers, Nelson, Crow and three other leading members, Banks, Smith and Woodsworth. Six tiny men, each of whom Buffy could and would crush like bugs, which held such power within the council.

Five days since she was able to last hold Willow, touch her, taste her. Buffy was sure she was slowly going mad and she'd had enough. She had to see Willow.

Stalking out of Giles hotel room she marched down the hall to the room she had shared with Willow not so long ago. Just as she was about to burst through the door she heard laughter coming from inside followed by silence. She recognised one of the humans as Willow but the other had her confused.

Opening the door she was met with two startled girls jumping off the bed they had been sitting on. Scowling at the other girl in the room, Buffy fixed her gaze on Willow and waited for introductions to be made, though her patience was thinning.

"Buffy! What are you doing here?" Willow was looking between Buffy and the other girl wondering how she was going to explain this to her lover, who she could see was a few seconds from blowing a casket at finding her on a bed with another woman, and keep what had just happened or nearly happened away from her lover. Amy had just kissed her and was about to take it further when Buffy came. Willow wondered how Buffy always knew when she was needed by her.

It was too late. Buffy had officially cracked. Five days of not seeing Willow had her mind conjuring up all sorts of scenarios, though granted none of them had Willow with another woman before now.

Barely managing to stay in her human visage, Buffy stalked over to Willow, dimly noticing out of the corner of her eye as the other girl moved back a few steps.

Trying to keep a growl out of her voice Buffy spoke.

"Will aren't you going to introduce me to your new friend?" There was a question on the word friend and Willow caught its meaning. Willow moved over to the other girl and heard a growl of warning come from her lover.

"Amy how about we meet up later? Now isn't a good time. And we really have to talk"

"Sure Willow." With a last uneasy glance at Buffy, Amy was out the door.

"What the hell is going on here?" There was a definite growl to her words now.

"Buffy it was an accident, I never even knew what was happening 'til she had kissed me I swear, and the next thing I knew she was on top of me and I couldn't get her off and she was trying to take it further..." She was cut off by a vicious growl and Willow suddenly wondered just what her soulless lover was about to do.
