Part sixteen
Willow opened her eyes to take in her surroundings and found her self at the Library. Looking though the door she spotted Karen picking up the telephone and knew who she was calling.
Without thinking she barged into the Library and took teh phone off her.
"Willow? What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be out with Xander?"
Willow was still angry about everything that Karen had ut them through so she didn't curb her words.
"When did you find out?"
Karen had no idea what she was talking about and her confusion showed on her face.
"Buffy. When did you find out?"
Karen thought she knew what this was about now.
"Willow, you were there when i found out remember? It was Giles that told me she was dead."
Willow shook her head about to deny that but she stopped. Karen didn't know yet.
"What date is it?"
She got an odd stare before Karen answered.
It had only bee two weeks since Buffy was turned. Willow left go of Karen's arm and sat down on a nearby chair debating what to do when she heard a voice in her head.
'She wants to help, she can be good, tell her'
Willow looked up at Karen and spilled her story, about Buffy, the council and Karen's part in it.
"Travers phoned me a while ago but I wasn't there so Giles took a message. He said he wanted to speak to me as soon as possible. They already know about Buffy, so why does he need me?"
"I don't know but they are not getting what they want. That way lies badness. Believe me." Willow looked at the girl she once considered a friend.
"You have to help me."
"Anything." Willow smiled but couldn't shake her unease with the other Slayer, who noticed.
"Look, I don't know why me future self helped Traver's but you guys are my friends and I'm not gonna to anything to change that. I never had friends 'till you guys."
Willow smiled but knew she couldn't trust her just yet.
"Phone Traver's and see what he wanted."
"That's just what I was going to do."
Willow's eyes opened wide. This was the time when it all happened. Whatever Traver's said to Karen made her turn her back on the people she cared for.
"Wait! It's now, whatever he tells you is bad enough to make you turn your back on us. Whatever he tells you don't agree to anything, and it is gonna be bad, I know from experience that Slayers care deeply and passionately about those they love."
Karen smiled a little and dialled the number Giles had written down for her.
"Hello? Would Mr Traver's be there? It's the Slayer."
"Karen?"
"Yes sir, you wanted me?"
"Yes, we have had some disturbing news. It seems that Miss Summers is still around after all. She is now a Vampire."
"How sis you find out sir?"
"Magic my dear. I need you to do something for me but first I need to you listen very closely to what I am going to say, can you do that?"
Karen sensed something was up as did Willow who took the phone off her and placed it on the table as Traver's said his piece. She only lifted it again when he was calling Karens name.
"Did you hear all that girl?"
"Yes sir."
"Good, that demon must be destroyed and i trust you to do it. Call me back when it is done."
"Yes sir. Goodbye sir."
Karen looked at Willow with a confused expression which mirrored Willow's. A flash of light surrounded them before the Woman appeared.
"The prophecy has been delayed. The first time around The Slayer here listened to his voice and a spell was cast. You were right is stating that whatever was going to happen was be big as a Slayers nature is to protect. You did well Child"
"So what happens now?" Willow was tired and missed Buffy.
"Patience Child. You will be with your Mate soon. Had the spell been cast, it would have set off a chain reaction. The Slayer here would have informed the Watcher that she had not been successful in killing the Vampire and he would have in turn started proceedings towards doomsday. You know what to do now do you not?"
Willow thought for a moment before a smile lit her features. She needed all the players here.
"Considerate it done."
The Woman smiled once again before leaving.
Karen looked from Willow to the spot where the Woman was standing before opening her mouth to speak only to be cut off by Willow.
"I'll tell you on the way."
"Why where are we going?"
"To get Buffy."
