Intimidation and Arrivals

Chapter 2

[reviews]

I have my head bowed beneath the raining water coming from the showerhead of well...the shower. I glance down at my wristwatch and see that it's 6:08 AM. Buffy has told me many times that I'm strange for wearing a watch in the shower. I always reply that it's my way of ensuring that I'm never late. I don't think Buffy ever buys it. I groan, letting the water wash over me, ridding me of my past. I hear the glass door slide open and let out a shriek, covering my breasts with one hand and my lower region with my other. I back up a couple steps, before realizing who it is.

"Buffy!" I screech, blushing at my predicament. Buffy just smirks, equally nude. I feel my blush growing hotter as she steps in and closes the door.

"You never wanted to shower with me?" Buffy asks, teasing me. I glare, still covering. Luckily, her back is to me, but now I'm feeling cold. I glance down, admiring her ass, before quickly bringing my eyes back up.

"N-no touching though, okay? I'm just getting used to admiring you," I reply, suddenly feeling a devilish thought form in my head. I blush again, even more than before. I lower my arms, and quietly open the door. I can almost see Buffy frown as the cold rushes in, sending both of our bodies into goose bump stage.

"Hey, what-" Buffy says, before letting out a cry of surprise. I let out a giggle, my hand leaving a brief and fading imprint on Buffy's right butt cheek. I scramble out the door, not even caring if Joyce comes out. Okay, I do care...a lot. That makes me run harder. I dash into our room, and slam the door shut. I lock the door, leaving Buffy growling on the other side in frustration. I grin to myself, still blushing slightly at my naughty action. I look around, and begin getting dressed. I throw on a pair of black jeans and a black top. I want to surprise Buffy. Maybe I overdid it though...all the better. I open the door, to see Buffy standing there, a towel covering her stomach and breasts. She glares at me and steps in.

"Nice look," she says, still peeved at my action. I frown, then sigh. I step forward and wrap my arms around Buffy's waist, resting my chin on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry, okay?" I ask, knowing that I'm playing right into Buffy's hands. She lets out a long sigh, and pretends to be in deep thought. I nuzzle her neck, kissing it over and over as I keep my hands on her stomach.

"You never told me you were so naughty," Buffy replies, moaning, and exposing more of her neck.

"I'm full of surprises," I say, now skipping out the door. I don't know what's coming over me, but it feels good. I think Buffy has a large role in this though. It's nice to not be so...same old. I can see how Buffy has so much fun, just being spontaneous, and inventive. "I'm grabbing breakfast," I say, knowing that I've once again annoyed my lover. I'll make it up later. I think a foot massage will work, I hope. That's my big plan...and I don't have any backup yet.

Buffy seems to have accepted what happened earlier, since we enter school holding hands. I stare at her, now worried that Snyder could catch us. Buffy just squeezes my hand tighter. I wince in pain, as Buffy gives me an apologetic smile, and loosens her hold. We're making our way down the hallway, and I can feel all the looks from the other students. I blush, and lower my head a bit. Buffy just ignores them though. I wish I had that confidence in myself. We reach the library and walk in. Giles, Xander, and Jenny are already there, waiting for us.

"I've caught wind that two vampires may have recently arrived in Sunnydale," Giles says. I frown, not happy at this news. Xander gives me a look, apparently surprised at my outfit. I just give him a broad smile, feeling pleased that I can elicit that reaction.

"Buffy...what did you do to Willow?" Xander asks, again gazing over my look. Buffy just smirks and leans forward, resting her chin on the palms of her hands.

"I showed her a naughtier side," Buffy says, as I blush, flashing back to my actions earlier. Xander just gawks at her, then at me.

"You have a naughty side?" Xander asks me, as I nod my head, and bat my eyelashes at him.

"Yup. You're not going to find out how naughty though," I say, a slight warning tone. Xander just smiles and I can tell that he'll already have images. Boys. Always thinking with that thing of theirs. Giles clears his throat and looks at us, very annoyed. I lower my eyes. "Sorry," I say.

"We're with you, Giles. Something about vampires, two of them, and them arriving yeah?" Buffy asks, clearly on the ball. Giles nods his head, still annoyed at us interrupting his important news.

"I believe they are both related to Angel. Rumors are that he, Angel that is, sired one, if not both of them," Giles explains. I look around, confused. Xander and Buffy return my look of confusion. Jenny seems to be aware of what's going on though.

"Sire?" I ask, wanting further explanation. Giles nods his head, blushing slightly.

"He made them both vampires. When a vampire turns a human into a vampire, the creator is called the sire of the human," Giles explains. I nod my head in understanding as Buffy looks at him, wanting to know how to end this quickly.

"Any idea on their haunts? Their names even?" Buffy asks. Giles shakes his head, as Buffy glares at him, then returns her gaze to mine.

"Sorry. They are said to have arrived with-in the last day or two. I'll try to find out more information of course. You three should get to class," Giles says. I stand up, linking my arm with Buffy's as we head out. Xander is standing to my right, still amazed at my attire. I glance at him, and roll my eyes. Xander just gives me a goofy grin as we exit the library.

I close my locker door and feel a presence behind me. I smile to myself, expecting Buffy when I turn around. Instead, I come face to face with Oz. Not the wizard, although that'd be kind of cool, but Daniel Osbourne. He has blue hair tipped with black and it's spiked. He's quickly invading my privacy, and I frown at him.

"Hey," he says, acting casual. I glance around, hoping to see Buffy, and worried that Snyder might see what's going on. Neither is on my radar though.

"Hi," I reply, confused, and feeling defensive. I don't like anybody getting this close to me. He can practically sniff me. I compose myself, trying to feel strong, like Buffy.

"What's going on?" he asks, now leaning against the lockers. I press my back against the locker now. I'm really not enjoying this. I never knew a guy could scare me this much. He hasn't even done anything; it's all proximity though.

"I was just going to see Buffy," I reply, trying to edge around him, but he copies my movements. He grins at the mention of Buffy, a weird grin. It reminds me of Angel, when he went evil.

"Right. Never figured you for a lesbian," Oz says, and I frown at him. I fold my arms across my chest.

"What's it to you?" I snap back, making him flinch. Didn't mean to get that reaction. On second thought, maybe I did. He looks at me apologetically.

"Sorry if I offended you. You just didn't strike me that way," Oz answers, trying to calm me down. I just roll my eyes at him and walk past, heading towards the library. I think I might've hurt him a little. He did seem sincere. Then again, so had everybody in this school until that one comment appeared on the door of my locker. A man steps in front of me, and I see it's Snyder. Uh-oh.

"Ms. Rosenberg. My office, now," he snaps, looking rather ticked. That can't be good. I can feel the looks from my peers, and catch Xander and Cordelia talking. They both glance at me, Xander worried, and Cordelia at least intrigued. It was more than I expected from her.

"What's going on?" I ask, trying to fish any information out of Principal Snyder. He just glares at me, and continues leading me to his office. He pushes the door open and I walk in. Buffy turns her head to look at me. I'm surprised at first, but now I'm worried. We're both here and nobody else. That can't be a good thing. Snyder sits down as I take a seat next to Buffy. Instinct says for me to grab Buffy's hand but I resist, for fear of accelerating our plight.

"I've been waiting for this day for a long while. Ever since I've arrived at Sunnydale High, you, Ms. Summers, have been a troublemaker. You've caused trouble almost daily, even if I haven't caught you every time. Ms. Rosenberg, you may have a sterling attendance record and high grades, but your association with Ms. Summers tells me that you must be a troublemaker as well. Any last words?" Snyder says, practically gloating at this. I glare back and catch Buffy also glaring. I'm shocked, but damnit, I'm angry too. Who's he to judge us? Okay...so we get into stuff but we save the world. Stupid Snyder.

"W-we'll take it up with the Mayor," I say, feeling too flustered to come up with something more threatening. Even to my ears, it doesn't sound like a good threat. Snyder flinches though, and I find that interesting. Buffy does too.

"That's right. We'll go up to the Mayor and believe me, I have no qualms about doing it," Buffy growls. I glance at her, afraid that she'll do something physically. She's sitting back, arms crossed. I cross my arms too, keeping my glare. I'm mirroring Buffy, and I'll do my best to scare Snyder into re-thinking. Xander has told me I need to work on my intimidation. In my defense I haven't had much work at it though. The phone rings, as Snyder picks it up, annoyed.

"What?" he snaps, instantly growing pale at whoever the answering voice is, and looking a little scared. Secretly, I wish it were Giles, but I don't think it is. Snyder nods his head a couple times and hangs the phone up. Now he looks angry, not happy. I think angry is good. It's better than him being happy right? "That was the Mayor. He informed me that I was to keep you both in school, at the expense of my job. I'll be keeping my eye on you and your friends anyway...Slayer," comments Snyder, now smiling. I grow pale, realizing what Snyder just said. I catch Buffy growing tense. She leans forward.

"How did you know that?" she asks, and I can see that she's scared. How did Snyder know that? Has he overhead us talking? Did he see Buffy staking a vampire? Even so, he couldn't know the term Slayer right?

"I know many things, Ms. Summers. I know that this town is also on a Hellmouth. You think I would take this job and be so naïve as to my surroundings?" asks Snyder, rhetorically. Buffy frowns and glances at me. Neither of us like knowing that Snyder knows what Sunnydale is and what Buffy is. We get up and quickly walk out. Giles has to know about it immediately. We march towards the library. Buffy strides in, clearly angry at this occurrence.

"Giles!" I scream. Giles comes dashing out of the library, probably expecting an attack. Buffy just stares at me quizzically as I look at her with a sheepish smile. "I thought it'd get his attention quicker," I reply, earning an understanding nod. Giles glares at me upon seeing that we aren't in danger. I flash my brightest smile, hoping it'll resolve his anger. It works a little, but he's still scowling.

"Snyder knows that I'm the Slayer. I don't know how he knows, but he does. The Mayor also told Snyder over the phone that he is to refrain from expelling Willow and I, something that he was literally seconds away from," Buffy says. Giles gives us a concerned look and frowns.

"Are you two okay? Wait, Snyder knows?" Giles asks. I nod my head, giving him a smile to help ease him.

"He does. We don't know how much he knows, but he also knows that Sunnydale is on a Hellmouth. I don't think it's too far fetched to say that he knows you're my Watcher as well," Buffy replies, sitting down at the table. I take a seat next to her, as Giles remains standing.

"Damn," Giles mutters. He's unhappy with this. I'm more worried about what this means for Buffy. Now I wonder if Joyce talked to the Mayor. It was really coincidental that he called Snyder right then. This day is getting really strange.

"Willow?" Buffy asks, as I look up at her, and smile.

"I'm here. I was just thinking how strange this day's been. Did Joyce talk to the Mayor?" I ask Buffy, as she looks back at me. I think it's starting to dawn on her now. She shakes her head slowly, appearing to be deep in thought.

"She never said anything. She was home all night, and we never caught her on the phone," Buffy says, frowning now. Giles looks confused, and I suppress a giggle at his expression.

"I'm thinking it's awfully coincidental that the Mayor called Snyder right at that time. He had to have some idea what Snyder was up to, especially if he mentioned Buffy and I by name," I say, trying to catch Giles up on the situation. Giles nods his head, but I think he still feels a little out of the loop. Poor Giles.

"We're going to head home. I want to know if my mother talked with the Mayor or not. Maybe get some closure on that aspect," Buffy says, standing up. I follow her action. Giles nods his head in understanding as we quickly make our way out of the library and down the hall. Buffy turns to me, slightly concerned.

"Something's up. Snyder not only knows who I am, but he found it out from somebody else. I don't think the Mayor was making that call as a coincidental move," Buffy says. I nod my head, trying to think if Joyce was ever on the phone last night.

"You...uh...we could be overreacting too. I mean, it was awfully coincidental but that doesn't mean that it has to be something deeper," I reply. Buffy lets out a weary sigh, and I smile at her.

"We'll talk with my mother first. If she didn't call the Mayor, than I get major I told you so time. You still owe me for this morning too," Buffy adds, a sly smile spreading. I smile back, trying to match her expression, but not sure if I'm coming anywhere close.

"Don't worry. A foot massage will be in the works," I state, earning a pleased grin. Buffy hugs me tightly, as I blush at the looks from the students milling about. I so need to stop blushing. I need to be more assertive, more confident in myself. I'm Willow Rosenberg. I have a female girlfriend lover. Yeah, it needs some work.
