Chapter 2

[reviews]

A/N: Okay chapter 1 was pretty much a prologue because now the point of view will start to shift between a few people.

Chapter 2

***Buffy's demon***

I woke up slowly the bones in my new body start to creak as if protesting in use to me. I smile weakly flexing the new hands I now have. I feel the concrete below me cooling my body even further than it already is. I find myself in a basement. Dark, but I could hear a pounding sound coming from behind me. The sound intoxicated be. The steady beat of whatever was causing it was starting to rise in intensity. It is a human. I can hear it now. The heartbeat the blood flowing through her veins is deafening to me. I turn on a dime my stomach slightly lurching from lack of blood.

What little humanity, and memory I had from my past life tells me that the woman I turned around to was my mother. I looked in her eyes searching for fear. But mostly just found anger, and just a little bit of fear. I feel my face change from the pathetic human disguise. The fangs extend from behind my teeth. My forehead changes shape, and every one of my senses goes up another gear. I am almost knocked over by the smells, and what I can hear now. I sense now a growing fear in the old woman's eyes. I stalk up behind her, and slowly circled her.

I start to singsong to her an old song she used to sing to Buffy when she was young. Her eyes follow me wide open as I walk around behind her. The blood finally overpowers any sense of play that I wanted to have. I fast walk up, and take her shoulders in both of my hands. I sniff her neck filling myself with her smell. I can smell everything every small thing that has touched her including. Giles? I try to remember who he was only remembering tweed, and a lot of annoyance. I push the thoughts into the back of my head, and dig my fangs into her throat taking all the blood in one gulp.

***Willow***

"Hey Giles," I said calmly thinking that it was just gonna be an ordinary day. I set my backpack down on the library counter. I took out my paper bag that contained my lunch. I threw it down on the table looking around for any sign of Buffy. I had not seen her before school, and didn't have a class with her until next hour which I was looking forward to. I had a thing bad for her. I had tried to get rid of those feelings that I knew she didn't feel for. I covered them up by going out with Oz. Really I do have feelings for him. I might even love him. I just don't feel like I want to live my life with him.

Giles comes back into the library with a worried expression on his face, and bags under his eyes indicating he had not yet slept, "Hello Willow. Has Buffy called you?" he asked obviously trying to get something out of me. After I think about the question her asked me I become restless.

Did Giles ask about Buffy. Wait. If he doesn't know were she is, and I don't then where is she. I think about it for a second, and getting no answer from myself I decide to answer him for something to say, "No," my voice sounds small even to me. I know I love her now how could I be getting such a reaction from myself just thinking that she might be hurt if I don't love her.

Giles wipes his forehead with a hand, and sits down with a groan, "Willow I need to tell you something about Buffy, and what happened to her," he says I have no idea how to react, but if it has something to do with Buffy, and why she might be gone I will definitely listen to whatever he has to say, "Are your parents home?" he asks me. I don't understand the question since we are in school it doesn't matter.

Even though I still shake my head, and explain why going into my babbling mode immediately, "Ya they are out at a-a meeting or s-something in M-Maine," I have trouble getting the words out with my mind replaying everything that could be happening to Buffy, "But even with that I-I mean I can't l-leave school?"

Giles smiles slightly holding his glasses limply on his side, and burying his head his other hand. He lifts his head back up, and looks me in the eyes, "Willow. You know I am still a teacher in this school. I am able to excuse you during school."

We step up the front steps to my house listening to a guy yell over, and over again, "MY VAN! MY FUCKING VAN!"

We make it in, and I close the door closing out most of noise from the man. Giles gestures for me to sit down. I look over at the answering machine for a red beep telling me there is a message. There is a red light flashing on the machine, and my heart soars thinking that maybe Buffy called. I run over, and press the play button. The message is plain silence. It lasts for a full minute until a click came indicating the end of the message. I walk back over to the couch, and collapse in it, "So?"

Giles looks at me as if trying to gauge my reaction to what he was about to say, "Willow. You know how Buffy has lost her strength over the last couple of days," I nod trying to think about where he might be going to, "Willow. Well the council had me inject her with a muscle relaxant for a supposed right of passage. It made her weak so that..." he tried to go on, but I didn't let him jumping up off my feet, and slapping him. He looked at me as if expecting this, "They could have a vampire fight her, and see if she was able to survive it."

I slap him again looking at him with the best resolve face I can muster, "You saw how broke up she was!" I yell at him he looks at me like he deserved this which only serves to piss me off further, "Giles I don't care that you think you deserve this you deserve worse. You could have just killed her. Just ahhh!" I yell pulling at my hair. He looks at me, but doesn't make any move to hug me. He was smart to do that if he had tried to touch me at that moment I probably would have punched him, "Why?" I ask him finally calming down enough to ask him that simple question.

He looks at me, and shrugs, "I really don't know. I could easily have just told her, but I didn't. So I really have no answer," I look at him not forgiving him one bit. He suggests we go over to Buffy's, and see if she is there I agree hoping to find her before the end of the day.

"Giles!" I call holding up Buffy's jacket that I had found on the step's. He walks up sees shat I am holding, and swears. He pulls me back into the car not even bothering to look inside the house.

We drive in silence I still don't know where he is talking me so I ask the most direct question I can think of, "Where are we going?" He looks at me as if contemplating what he should tell me.

He pulls over in front of an abandoned house, and turns to me, "We're here. Where here is is where the vampire that Buffy was supposed to fight is. So take a stake, and a cross, and lets go," he says throwing the two objects to me, and going out the door. I open my door, and start to walk with him up to the house.

A/N: There hope you like. Remember to review.
