Chapter 4

***Buffy's Demon***

I stumble out of the library clutching at my face hoping the redhead was to preoccupied to follow. I had been looking for a way out, but that was not the best way. The holy water stung like a bitch. Some of it had gotten into my eye. I burst out the front door. My skin starts to sizzle. I look up into the bright setting sun, and look around for a way out of it. I find shelter under a tree, and look at my fingers. The tips have been burned off for the most part. I suck them in my mouth speeding up the healing process a little bit.

I start to search back through Buffy's memories since I have nothing else to do for about nine minutes. Wow, gotta love being a vamp, and knowing the exact time the sun will go down. I continue to search now looking for the people she loved the most. The biggest one on that list is the redhead. At least Buffy had good taste. I go down the list marking off Joyce with a small smile. I found one that may be pretty easy.

After another eight minutes, and the sun has gone down sufficiently I make my way down the street, and follow Buffy's memories to a huge mansion.

I walk up slowly. Angelus is what Buffy called him. All I really need to know though is he a vamp, and Buffy liked him a little. I find a piece of broken wood probably from a broken chair or something. I twirl it around in my hand getting a feel for the stake. Even though I can't check in a mirror I can feel that my body still hasn't fully healed. Hmmm? I would have thought with vamp, and slayer healing this would be faster. Oh well maybe it is because I was just born?

I put in a fake limp, and hold my arm limp at my side gripping the stake loosely. I find that he is sitting on the couch meditating so I make sure to make a small little sound that Buffy would probably make when she was hurt. He looks at me for a second, and rushes over. He sniffs the air, and stops in his track about five feet from me, "Oh no," he said looking at me with hatred.

I roll my eyes at him now that he obviously knows that, well Buffy is dead. I pull up into a fighting stance. No need to pretend I guess I just have to do this the hard way. I lunge at him. He ducks down, and uses my momentum to propel me forward into the wall. I change places in midair so that my feet hit the wall first. I push off the wall, and nail his chest like a bullet.

We both fly for a couple feet. We regain are footing at about the same time. I am almost saddened by the lack of heartbeat. I love to hear it grow in intensity, and then slowly settle down until it stops calling out to me that the person is dead. We circle each other for a minute. This time he lunges at me first. He pins my arm behind my body, and crouches down to eye level with me pushing his body against mine to pin me.

He says nothing for a while. I think of a plan quickly. I push forward knocking him down to his knees. He keeps me pinned, but my arm gets a little bit more room. I take the stake, and plunge it straight through my stomach into his heart, "Buffy," he said before he blew up into dust with a hurt expression on his face.

***Willow***

"ARE YOU INSANE! YOU LET HER GET AWAY!" Giles yelled at me for not letting him kill Buffy. I start to get angry with him again, "YOU KNOW SHE KILLED! SO THAT MAKES HER JUST LIKE ANY OTHER VAMP!" he finishes slamming his fist onto the table.

"Giles!" I said trying to get his attention without yelling, "I know all those things that doesn't make it better that you were about to torture Buffy! Or her demon, if anything you should have just staked her like you know she would have wanted to," I say trying to be the calm head in this situation, "Now lets call Angel, and see if he can help us."

Giles seems to regain some of his British composure, and waves at me silently telling me to call him. He walks into his office, and closes the door. I pick up the phone, and call Angel glad for once that her had finally got a phone in the mansion. The phone rang three times before it went into what I thought at that time was the recording. I started to cry as Buffy's voice came over the phone, "Angels not here right now. Please leave a message after the beep," 'Beep!'

"Hey Angel we need your help. I really don't want to discuss it over the phone. Just so I know you will come. Its about Buffy," I say maybe expecting him to rush to the phone hearing Buffy's name.

"Oh poor little Angel. Got on the wrong end of a piece of wood," Buffy's voice came over the phone. I wince in pain. God even if we do manage to get Buffy back what will she have left? I put the phone on speaker, and knock on Giles window pointing to the phone. He nods, and comes back out.

"Buffy we want to help you come back I'm you're friend I will always accept you," I say trying to play the friend card, and reach to any humanity she has left. Giles comes out. His ears perk up at Buffy name.

Through the speaker we can hear Buffy laugh at us, "Oh that's rich Willow. You help me? Why? I love it like this trust me Buffy is still in this head, and she doesn't care. God? Huh I have to stop saying that since technically I don't believe in him anymore. But here, what I was going to say is you can't help Buffy. You had your chance when she was turned right outside of your house. If I can thank anyone it is you. You helped me live. Hell if you had just gone out of your house when you heard the big bang you probably could have saved the bitch."

I say nothing for a while. I feel a little guilty with all the pieces coming together in my head. The van outside, the crack I heard, and seeing a guy lurking in my neighbors backyard should all have at least intrigued me enough to look outside, "Listen to me you stupid demon. DON'T YOU EVER. I MEAN EVER CALL BUFFY A BITCH!" I hear one last laugh come out of the speaker, and then a click indicating Buffy had hung up.

A/N: Yay, another chapter. I am trying to get one out every other day or so, so expect another one soon. Remember to review.
