Chapter 8

***Buffy***

I feel the wood in my chest, and sit up finding to my suprise that there was only a lot of pain, but I didn't go dusty. Oh well at least I am not dead. Deader. I sit up pushing Faith off me, but making sure she didn't get hurt, "Well that was certainly funny," I curl my fingers around the stake, and pull it out making a weird slurp kind of sound as it came out.

Faith looks at me with a stunned expression on her face when I throw the stake at her feet. I poke at the small hole trying to find out why I wasn't duster chow right now, "But... You... I... It... I..." Faith couldn't seem to get the words out, and I knew she was thinking how do you kill a vamp who can't get dusted. I have my own shocked expression on my face unable to think why she hadn't recognized me. Have I really changed that much. I mean the hair is new, but other than that, and the dirty smudges nothing really changed. Did it? It's not like I can find out with the mirror problem.

She does the only thing she can think of, and runs trying to get me to follow so I will be farther away from the Bronzer's no doubt. I roll my eyes, and just jump up catching on to a window sill on the other building, and pull myself up on top of the building. I look down, and see her looking at me, and run off for my crypt. The only thought running through my house was the image of Willow kissing that other blond.

***Willow***

I am getting worried about Faith. She has been gone for about ten minutes since she had gone out to check on the noise in the alley. I see her coming back into the Bronze her hair frizzled like she had been in a good fight, "So Faith. Any vamps out tonight?" I asked making some small talk.

"Ummm... Only one white hair, girl, very hot, but looked like it had been digging like a mole, or something," Faith said pulling up a chair, and slumping down into it.

I think for a while, "So... Giles?" I ask trying to figure out if we should call the englishman. She nods, and starts to drink out of her glass.

"So you are saying the thing didn't die. When you staked it?" Giles said pulling down several large books, and placing them on the coffee table. He flips through one of the books adjusting his glasses, and trying to find anything on a vamp who doesn't die when staked, "So you are sure this thing was a vamp?" Giles asked.

Faith rolled her eyes, and put her feet up on the table earning a glare from Giles, "Hey G-man I think I know a vamp when I see it. This thing was definitely giving off the vamp vibes," Faith said absently picking at her cuticles.

A ringing phone wakes me up at about 3:OO A.M. I pick it up, and answer with a groggy, "Hello."

"Hey Will. Giles says he wants us to meet him at the Bronze. He says he has a lead on the vamp," Xander says obviously groggy himself.

"Okay. Why the Bronze it's closed by now?"

"He wouldn't say. So meet you there in a bit."

I walk down the street yawning. I grip the cross a little tighter as I become in sight of the Bronze. I hear footsteps in the alley, but find no sight of the gang. What I found was the white haired vamp I can only assume was the one Faith saw with a smudge of blood on her lip, and a limp girl with bite marks in her neck in her hands.

A/N: Sorry this one is short, but I promise to tell this from Buffy's POV next chapter okay.
