Part seven

Graham checked his watched before standing quickly. He had spent to long talking to Harmony, that he was late back to base. He was surprised Walsh hadn't paged him.

As he said his goodbye's and took off jogging, he failed to notice the five Vampire's following him.

-----

Buffy growled lowly when she saw Forrest at her door.

"Well, well, well." Buffy stared him up and down, just like a predator would its prey.

Because that is what they were, no matter the situation.

Licking her lips, her growl rose in volume when she passed over the area where her fangs should hang.

This boy was definitely in for a world of pain.

Forrest held his teaser against his shoulder, looking cocky as he stood by the door.

"The Boss thinks that maybe now you would be ready to talk to us."

Buffy paused. She could feel her family moving closer to where she was, maybe they had found her after all.

"Sure, okay."

He paused, that had gone to easily.

When the Vampire refused to turn and allow him to put the chains on it, he sighed and pointed his gun at her.

"Fine, but you make one wrong move and I shoot you." He twisted the trigger on his gun, upping the level of electricity flow should he pull the trigger.

Buffy rolled her eyes at the threat, but none the less walked steadily in front of the boy, winking at some of the demons in the cages she passed by.

-----

When they saw the boy go into the house on the college campus, Wes ran forward and saw him disappear behind a mirror.

"We need in that house."

Willow smirked and stood up stretching.

"Looks like this is a job for the only female in the group." She ran her hands over her body to assert her meaning.

Angelus pulled her back before she could move.

"Buffy never hears about this."

Willow nodded her head, knowing how jealous her lover could be.

As she reached the door, she took a deep breathe and knocked.

A boy answered, no more that twenty.

"Can I help you?"

Willow began sniffling.

"You h...have t...to h...help me... he's, oh god... h...he's coming."

Forrest's best friend stared at the redhead before her, and his upbringing would not let him turn her away. Plus, she was kinda hot.

"Come in and we'll call the police, are you hurt?" Riley closed the door and turned around, only to be greeted by a smirking Vampire.

Willow had him pinned by the throat in seconds.

"Invite them in or I kill everyone here."

Riley shook his head no. He knew, that once he invited more demons into the house, they were all dead.

Willow added pressure, smiling as she heard a bone crack.

"Do it now."

He was about to say no, but then he remembered something.

The Initiative was right down stairs.

Willow opened the door to reveal four game faced Vampire's.

"Come in." Riley managed to croak the invitation out, thinking that his fellow soldiers would deal with this threat. He was dead before he hit the floor.

-----

Buffy had been with Walsh for thirty minutes, listening to her go on about how they removed her soul, when every alarm in the building went off.

"Jeeze, wonder what's happening?" Buffy's smile made Walsh almost take a step back.

"Report soldiers." Walsh held the walkie talkie close to her ear to hear what her soldiers were telling her.

"Five hostels have breached parameters."

"Demons?"

"Negative, Vampire's Ma'am."

Walsh frowned. Their records showed that Buffy only sired four males. If this was in fact her family, and the Vampire's confident pose made her think it was, who was the fifth member?

-----

Getting into the house had been surprisingly easy, and once they had snapped the necks of the humans on the first floor, they found out that the mirror hid an elevator shaft.

Willow had jumped down before any of the others could, landing heavily ten floors below.

Shaking off the pain in her legs, she waited for the others to join her.

-----

Buffy stood up and stretched knowing her family were in the same building as her.

"Seems to me, like your luck just ran out big style."

Walsh paled when the outer door to her office burst open before remembering that the inner door was reinforced.

When Buffy saw the smirk on her face, she looked between the 'doctor' and the door.

"You do realise, that when my Mate and Childer all arrive, this place will burn."

Walsh turned, a startled look on her face.

"Mate?"

Buffy smirked as she heard Willow growling and calling out to her.

"Yeah, you may have heard of her. Goes by Slayer to some."

Walsh paled, for the first time looking scared.

"He never told me..."

Buffy wondered who 'he' was, but then the door started denting in.

"That's impossible, that door is-"

Walsh was cut off when five very pissed Vampire's burst through the door.

Before Walsh could blink, they had surrounded the blonde.

Buffy managed to whisper out that they weren't to kill Walsh before letting the darkness finally take her.

Safe now.

It was Angelus that noticed first.

"What the Hell happened to her FANGS?"

Gunn looked from his Sire, to the lady in the white coat, before stepping forward and punching her, knocking her out cold and breaking her cheekbone in the process.

"We have to get out of here."

They made their way back the way them came, passing the containment cells as they did so.

Knowing that there were more soldiers behind them, Wes flipped the switch at the end of the corridor, smiling when all the cage doors opened.

They could hear the soldiers screams as they left the compound.

-----

"Hello?" Giles phone ringing woke him up and he didn't sound pleased about it Angelus noted.

"We found her. We leave tomorrow night."

Giles released a sigh. He had tried not to, but he found he respected the souled blonde.

"What of the Initiative?"

Angelus snickered.

"It will be in flames by dawn."

Giles stuttered at the killings of humans, but Angelus didn't care.

"They hurt her, they die."

-----

Buffy groaned as she smelt fresh blood.

Opening her golden eyes, she saw her family surrounding her.

"Hey."

Everyone jumped when they head Buffy's voice.

Penn stepped up and handed Willow one mug of warm blood off the trey he held.

Buffy growled and struggled to sit up, eager to get at the blood.

Willow eased in behind her and brought the mug to her Mate's mouth.

The blood was gone in seconds, and Buffy was glad it was human. No more bagged animal blood for her.

Mug after mug of blood was fed to the wounded Vampire until she couldn't drink any more.

Sighing, she closed her eyes and let sleep claim her, comforted by her Mate's arms around her, and her family's, quiet voices in the background.

Willow reached down gently when she was sure Buffy was sleeping and tried to open her clasped fist.

It still wouldn't budge.

"We need to get her cleaned up and find out what they did to her." Willow nodded her head at Penn and he left the room to fill the basin with warm water.

Angelus appeared with scissors and they began cutting off what little remained of her clothes.

The only reason Willow wasn't snapping at them all to get away, was because she needed the help, and she knew they were all worried about their Sire.

It took a while, but finally they had all the dried blood cleaned off and stitches holding the worst of the wounds closed.

Vampire healing would do the rest.

Next came the hard part.

They still had to clean and bandage the clenched fist, not to mention attend to Buffy's mouth.

Willow had just reached forward to prop open Buffy's mouth, when the blondes eyes snapped open and she gave a feel growl.

Willow backed off and instead looked down at Buffy's injured hand.

"Baby, we need to clean that up."

Buffy stared at her family, and knew that they weren't going to like what they saw.

Slowly, she eased her hand open, and as expected, each Vampire in the room winced when they saw the two ripped out fangs.

Willow's shaky hand reached out to take them, and Buffy's eyes followed her as she put them into a class of water.

"How long will it take for new ones to grow back?"

Wes looked up, knowing Angelus was asking him. He made eye contact with Buffy, and hated what he was about to tell her.

It seemed like when there was bad news to deliver, he drew the short straw.

"There is a chance, that they never will."

Gunn tried to break the tension in the room.

"It's a good thing she doesn't bite humans anymore then."

Angelus was about to punch his 'brother' when Buffy chuckled.

"Wrong childe." It had just occurred to Buffy, that her family didn't know about her un-souled status.

Everyone in the room straightened just a little. Was she saying what they thought she was?

Buffy made eyes contact with them all, before resting on her Mate.

"They did a little spell to remove my soul. It worked."

One by one, smiles broke out on the families face.

Willow forgot herself and smashed her lips to Buffy's, only to back away when she heard her lover's whimper of pain.

"Sorry."

Buffy smirked through the pain and opened her eyes.

"It was worth it."

And it was. She would go through ten times what Walsh had put her through, because at the end, she was rewarded with the removal of her soul.

That reminded her...

"What did you do with the 'doctor'?"

Angelus smiled, that one she loved, and she knew.

"We have her in the basement along with another soldier that reeked of you."

Forrest.

Buffy's suddenly couldn't wait to get strong again.

"Wes, have the minions hunt, tell them to bring living humans back to me."

Wes left to do that and Willow stepped forward.

"Penn, hand me an empty mug."

He did as she asked and everyone watched as Willow slashed open a vein in her wrist with her fangs, letting the blood flow into the mug.

"Slayer's blood is Slayer's blood. It will help you heal faster."

Buffy took the offered cup herself this time, felling a little stronger from having been fed before.

"Thank you childe."

As she drank, she could feel her lover's blood work its magic as the pain in her mouth lessened a little.

Looking at her fangs in the glass of water, Buffy had an idea of what to do with them.

"What about the place where I was held?"

Gunn told her about them freeing the demons, and told her that by dawn it would be a burnt out shell.

Smiling, Buffy handed the mug back to Penn, whom Willow snatched it off to refill with her blood.

Sighing, Buffy took the cup again and looked at her Mate.

"Make sure you feed well."

Willow nodded when a thought occurred to her.

Buffy read the look of her Mate's face and smiled, reaching her injured hand out to the redhead.

"Yes love, soon we will hunt together."

As Willow stopped herself from attacking her lover with kisses, Angelus attended the wounded hand and bandaged it up.

Wes came back in and let them know that the minions had left to gather food, and Buffy sighed as she finished her third cup of Slayer blood.

As she drifted off to sleep, her family heard her mutter something about finding out who 'He' was.

Angelus stood up.

"Time to pay a visit to our resident 'doctor' and her boy.
