"Buffy! Buffy, wake up!" Dawn slapped her sister. "Buffy!"

The slayer's eyes opened wide and one word echoed from her lips in a scream.

"WILLOW!"

Dawn jumped, nearly falling off of the edge of the bed where she had sat down to wake her sister.

"Buffy, it's me, Dawn, you were having a bad dream...a really, REALLY bad and loud one."

Buffy sat straight up in the bed, the sheets wet from sweat, her eyes staring wildly at Dawn.

"Willow...she was being hurt."

"Yeah, I kinda caught that, when you were yelling, stop hurting Willow," Dawn cracked with a typical kid sister smirk. "So, whose the bitch?"

"Huh?"

"You said, leave her alone, bitch...who were ya talkin' to?"

Buffy's brow furrowed and she ran a hand through her damp hair.

"I don't know."

Willow eased gently into the white, plastic beach chair, thankful for the fluffy pillow that met her bruised bottom as she did. Sunglasses in place, she rested her head back and closed her eyes, sighing deeply as the warm sun bathed her. At least she was in a nice, warm, beautiful place. She figured no matter where she was, the pain and abuse...both her own and the woman whose bed she shared...would be there, so why not at least have a nice view. Or, as the case was, a nice backyard.

She made a mental note to call Giles later...or, better yet, send him a big ol' tea basket. Locating she, Kennedy and her own handful of juniors to a beachhouse on the gulf coast was one of the sweetest things the Englishman had ever done for her. Poor Faith was stuck up in Seattle with Robin and her girls...Xander and Anya had met up with Spike and Angel after their little battle in L.A. and the quartet were now somewhere in Germany, a few dozen juniors in towe.

{The battle, which the great, now goddess herself, helped out with just a tad. The great thing about magick...it travels well.}

Willow had to laugh. Xander and the deadboys...she so hoped Anya wasn't kidding about buying a camcorder.

Wesley...now he was the one she really felt sorry for. Ok, he was basking in some sun of his own, true. Jamacia was even warmer than Tampa. But the poor guy was stuck with Andrew. Willow had done her time with the self proclaimed, former evil genius so her sympathy for the former watcher was enormous, but, as the little voice in her head reminded her, better him than her!

Before they had come to Florida, Willow had paid another visit to L.A. and thanks to some serious mojo and a nifty little gem Giles had found, she was able to seperate Fred and Ilyria, thus bringing the brilliant scientist back and keeping the former warrior around. Now Fred was with Wesley living la' vida Andrew while Ilyria had accompanied Gunn and a dozen slayers up to New York City...a most popular ground for evil, despite it's lack of hellmouth. Giles was hunkered down in London rebuilding the council, slowly but surely with help from Cordelia...yeah, who would've thought THAT one? But the seer was actually a very good assistant and a great hep to Giles. Lorne completed the London trio...part of the application for the job of watcher? A nice little song.

Always better to stop the evil before it gets on the inside.

Connor, Angel's son...boy, how weird did that sound...was in Italy, having become rather smitted with the youngest Summers...something that made Buffy roll her eyes. Her little sister and Angel's kid? It was too bazarre. But, Dawn was happy and that's what mattered to the slayer. That's the way Buffy was...always caring about everyone else's happy.

Willow's closed eyes teared up as she thought about the golden haired woman that had her heart and didn't even know it. If Buffy had one clue as to how she felt about her...well, Willow was about as clueless as to what the slayer would do.

Guess that doesn't make me any better, huh. I'm so stupid. I should just tell her. What's the worst she can do? Tell me she's flattered but doesn't feel the same. Yeah, hearing it out loud would hurt, but then maybe I could just end all of this and get it over with.

"Buffy, why can't you love me?"

"Because you aren't worth loving, Will."

Willow's eyes opened to find Kennedy standing over her. She swallowed hard, her pulse racing.

"I thought you and the girls were going on a run down the beach?"

"I changed my mind, came back, figured you were...in need. I was right."

"No, no I'm not...I'm fine."

Kennedy reached down and roughly grabbed a handful of red hair.

"Looks like you need reminding of whose in charge here, too, babe."

"Buffy, if you're so worried, call her again."

Buffy winced as her baby sister took a bite of the salami and Captain Crunch sandwhich.

"Ewwwww, how can you eat that?"

"Ooh, A Dawn special!" Connor quipped, coming in from outside and grabbing Dawn by the waist, kissing her softly.

Buffy's eyes rolled. "I'd rather watch you eat the sandwhich."

Dawn smiled as the kiss ended, feeding him a bite of the sandwhich. He smiled and chewed.

"Buffy," Dawn said, turning back to her sister. "If you're so worried, call her again."

"I've called twice today...left messages. I think she may be mad at me."

"Who?" Connor asked, grabbing a root beer from the fridge.

"Willow, Buffy had a bad dream about her last night. Major yelling and screaming."

He look puzzled. "I didn't hear anything."

Buffy gave him a look. "That's because you snore like your father."

He looked offened. "I do not."

Dawn giggled and nodded. "Uhhuh, you so do."

Buffy's brow shot up. "And how would you know? Seperate bedrooms here."

It was Dawn's turn to roll her eyes. "Same way you know Angel snores...we have slept together, hello, watching movies, fall asleep, research, after patrol...crashing on the sofa...please, we aren't doing it yet."

Buffy choked on her juice. "Yet?"

Connor laughed, kissed Dawn's cheek and then Buffy's. "I'm gonna grab a shower." And with that proclamation, he disappeared up the stairs.

"Yet?" Buffy repeated.

"Breathe, gawd, you fight evil but your sister having sex makes you go into cardiac arrest." She took a bite of her sandwhich. "You so need to prioritize...and get a clue. Number one, the day is coming, accept and deal, you'll feel better. Number two, it so won't happen here. Ew, there's this great little villa on the other side of town...right by the sea, so romantic...and afforable...Two nigh-"

"Affordable? How do you know this? Wait, don't tell me. I want to be ignorant parent. You know, mom, me, the whole slaying gig...I learned from her...I can do it."

Dawn giggled. "Now why would Willow be mad?

Buffy took another drink of her juice. "I don't know...it's Will...she's always been on the emotional side, which is one of the things I love about her. One look into those beautiful green eyes and you get a whole story, with lots of chapters."

Dawn smiled. "You really are like, one of the dumbest people I know."

Buffy eyed her. "Ok, the slap, I let you get away with because I believe you were trying to wake me up..."

"I DID wake you up."

"Yes...but calling me dumb, that's another story," Buffy stated, taking another drink.

"Buffy, what else can I call you? You're so in love with Willow and you don't even see it?"

Dawn's eyes closed as juice came flying at her. Buffy coughed and grabbed a few paper towels from the counter.

"Sorry, sorry, sorry. " She wiped Dawn's face off. "But what the hell are you talking about?"

+++++

"Willow, it's Giles, could you please phone me as soon as you get the chance. I needed to ask your opinion on a few things...one of which is Cordelia. Dare I say, she's been doing a rather smashing job...you would not believe how orderly things are...I must say, she has matured greatly...personality wise, as well...and I was looking to purchase a nice thank you, for all of her hard work...and I would like to speak with you about that...I hope all is well there in thee, sunshine state...and I look forward to your call...good bye."

He hung up the phone and furrowed a brow.

"How many is that, sweet pea?"

The head watcher removed his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"Five, in the past three days. Two on the machine and three with Kennedy."

Lorne shook his head. "I don't like this, Rupert...Red Rose is vigilant about returning calls. She phoned me three times last week about that cd I sent her...three calls and a thank you basket of fresh Florida fruit. I hate to be the bearer of bad vibes, but I don't like this."

Giles looked up at him, nodding.

"Kennedy said she had been feeling a bit under the weather...perhaps she's more ill than she wants us to know."

"Want me to hop on a plane? Go and take a look?"

"Let me phone Buffy...she and Willow are close...perhaps she's heard from her."

Tears flooded Willow's eyes as the belt landed again. Goddess, why didn't she just magick the sadistic little bitch to Brazil?

Because, you deserve this, Will...you know you do...look at your arms...your thighs...anyone who can bruise herself like that wants her ass beat.

"You thinking about her now, Will?" CRACK* "Your precious Buffy?" CRACK* "Wouldn't she think you were pretty now." CRACK* "All bent over our bed..." CRACK* "Ass in the air..." CRACK* "Getting off on my belt."

CRACKCRACKCRACK*

Kennedy threw the belt aside and grabbed the strap on from the drawer of the bedside table.

"Won't need any lube now, will I babe?" She slipped it on and grabbed Willow's hips. "My girl likes it rough."

Willow's eyes widened with pain as she felt the faux cock slam into her ass. Her fingers gripped the sheets as her eyes closed again and she tried with all her might to pretend it was Buffy. But she couldn't.

Buffy would never hurt her like this.
