Chapter Two

Joyce looked out the window as she heard Willow and Buffy approaching the house. She was supposed to be leaving in another five-minutes or so, and had suggested that Buffy invite Willow over to spend the weekend with her since she didn't want Buffy to be alone...none the less for Willow to be alone all weekend since Ira and Sheila were going to a conference in LA too.

So Buffy had invited Willow over...it had been akward at first because of their relationship, and every time that Joyce would mention Willow staying the night Buffy would blush, although Joyce couldn't imagine what was making her daughter blush so often, she was sure that it had something to do with that boy that was supposed to be tutoring Buffy for school. 'What was his name again?....Oh, Angel, that's right' her brain supplied.

She watched the girls walk up the front walkway, and out of her view onto the front porch, and then into the house.

"Hey Mom." Buffy greeted, dropping Willow's hand. For a second Joyce was sure that she'd seen some kind of pain cross Willow's face, but then when she looked closer she decided that her eyes must've been playing tricks on her, because Willow looked very content if not happy.

"Hi Sweetie." She replied, giving Buffy a quick peck on the cheek, and then saying hello to Willow. "So, what are the plans for tonight?" she asked somewhat cautiously.

Buffy glanced quickly at Willow, and then back to her mom. "Well, we were thinking that we'd go to the Bronze for a little while...and then maybe watch some movies or something."

"Okay, well, the phone number is on the fridge if you need anything, and.." She quickly snuck a look at her watch. "I've gotta leave now or I'll miss my flight. You girls have fun." And with that she walked quickly to the front door, grabbed her bags, and went out to meet the taxi.

As soon as they heard the door to the taxi shut and it drive off both girls sighed in relief, glad that they had been able to pull that off. Then without a moment's hesitation, Buffy had picked Willow up, placed her on the island, and pulled her legs apart so that she could stand in between them. Willow quickly pulled Buffy as close as was possible. They stood like this for a moment or two, both starring intently into the others eyes. Then Willow slowly leaned forward, placing a light kiss on Buffy's lips, or what she had meant to be a light kiss, but was quickly deepened to more.

Within thirty seconds the kiss had progressed into an intense make- out session. They had been kissing for less than a minute when some light groping began. Although they had been dating for the last month or so, they hadn't really gotten past the "shy" stage. And had mostly only made- out...because, well, they both really wanted to take things slowly.

Outside Xander is walking up to the Summers house when he hears a sound coming from around back in the kitchen...rather than knocking he decides to simply walk in through the front door, hoping that whatever's goin' on in the kitchen does not involve a demon.

Buffy hears the door open, and immediately pulls back. As Xander walks in unannounced. "Gosh Xander, don't you know how to use a doorbell?" She asks in an exasperated tone.

Xander doesn't say anything, but his eyes follow Buffy to the freezer as she goes to get out ice cream for her and Willow...or more accurately Buffy's butt. Willow sees this and turns bright red. She knows that Buffy knows Xander is watching her...but she also knows that Buffy loves her. 'So why am I jealous of him?' She asks herself quietly...but the only solution that her brain supplies is that 'love makes you do the wacky.'
