Chapter Twentyone

[reviews]

"Well, you see, when the ritual is complete, you and your mate can pretty much read eachother's minds. So an a sense, you are inside of eachother, as in...You'll be within eachother for the rest of your lives, even if one of you dies." Courtney looked at the group. "So you see, I'm not really crazy, just Eliza and I both tested positive for ADD, so when you add us together, we tend to be a bit eccentric." She finished, smiling at the group as she hoped that realization would dawn on them.

"Okay, that makes sense, kind of. I guess." Willow said, staring down at her and Buffy's linked hands. "Could you excuse us for a minute?" She asked the group as a whole before she stood up, and pulled Buffy with her. This time they actually made it to the bathroom before Willow sat down against the wall and again pulled her girlfriend with her.

"What's goin on in that head of yours?" Buffy asked as she tilted her chin back so that she could loook into the redhead's eyes. She leaned in a placed a soft kiss on her lips, then pulled back to look at the love of her life.

"I love you." Willow blurted out, sounding more nervous than she had the first time she said it. "I mean, I head-over-heels, ass-over-teakettle love you. You know that right?" She asked, some tredemption in her voice.

"Of course I do. And you know I feel the same way about you?" Buffy asked in return, wondering what this sudden affirmation of love was for.

Willow nodded yes, that she knew, and then she leaned in and kissed the blonde, pouring everything she ever was, ever would be, and ever might hope to be inside of the kiss. "Can we leave?" Willow asked after a few minutes of making out. It was intense in a way that neither of them had experienced before. Buffy looked at her for a minute before she answered.

"I don't know how long we would have, can we wait until tonight, or do you want me to go and tell them we need time?" Buffy asked, fully prepared to do whatever the redhead wanted.

"Time." She said.

"Okay, lets go, you can wait outside the library, and I'll go in and tell them." Buffy said, untangling their limbs, only to claim the redhead's hand in her own.

They walked down the corridor, neither wanting to consider what the council had planned, nor what the prophecy entailed. They needed a break, and dammit they were going to get one.

Buffy walked into the Library, and Willow listened through the door as she explained that they needed some time to talk about the whole mate business, and that they would see the group tomorrow or the next day. Giles, Faith, and Xander all agreed to cover patrol until they saw the couple again, although not without some small amount of protest from Xander about the extra load, and some from Giles about them suddenly leaving. Buffy just said it was a necessity, and they would see the group in a couple of days. Faith on the other hand was more than willing to take over patrol.

"Beware nasties here I come!" Willow heard her shout as she saw the younger girl thrust her fist into the air.

Walking back out of the library, she grabbed the redhead's hand and they started towards Buffy's house, only stopping four times to make out in the first half of the journey.

Amy and Tara had been walking back to the school when they ran into Buffy and Willow.

"Hey, where are you guys goin?" Amy asked them.

"We just need a break to talk." Buffy said, not letting Willow answer for fear of Willow freaked out babble mode that she tended to do when she was nervous, and judging by the vice like grip she had on Buffy's hand she was more than nervous.

"Oh, well," Amy paused for a minute before continuing, looking to Tara for permisson as she asked Buffy and Willow. "If you guys want to, maybe you could meet us at the Bronze later tonight? We were thinking around maybe ten-ish." Tara nodded that she definently agreed they should come, and they waited for the couple to answer.

Buffy and Willow looked at eachother, letting their eyes do the communication before they answered. "Yup, count us in." Willow answered, barely able to stop any form of babble before it escaped.

"Alright, see you at ten then." Amy said before they departed as they continued their way to the school so that they could fix Cordelia.

Back at school:
"So anyway, popscicles? Anyone got any?" Courtney asked for the billionth time. Giles sighed as he placed his head in his hands.

"Xander...Oh, Xander, come here." Cordelia called in her best come-hither voice.

Xander plugged his fingers in his ears and began humming. Faith promptly pulled them out before saying "Yo, that's annoying." She shot him a mean look and he looked back at her sheepishly before pulling out a cdplayer and headphones, which he turned all the way up as he rested his head on the table.

Tara and Amy came through the door, carrying the ingredients, and as soon as Giles saw them he began helping them set up the spell.

Amy sat in the middle of a pentragram with Tara in front of her, holding both hands, as they began chanting together in latin. Suddenly they finished with a "Reverte!" And Cordelia got up, and stood against the cage.

"Somebody get me out of this cage! It's disgusting." She said as she tapped her foot impatiently waiting for Giles to get the key. Once it was open she looked at the group. "God, what am I doing here with you social retards anyway?" She asked, "Forget that, dont answer, I'm out of here." She said storming out of the library.

"Yes, thank you Amy and Tara, you were so wonderful." Xander mocked, his voice high pitched as he did his best impression of the cheerleader. Giles shook his head in dismay.

"You wouldnt happen to want to patrol with us would you?" He asked Courtney, who had been sitting and chatting with Faith while they both whittled stakes during the spell.

"Sure."

Back at the Summer's residence:

Buffy and Willow sat on Buffy's bed, kissing. Well really more layed on Buffy's bed. "Make love to me?" Willow asked as she pulled back tentatively.

"I will, I promise, I just want it to be perfect. Can you wait until after the Bronze tonight?"

Willow nodded before she leaned back into the kiss.

A/N: Not much plot line really with this, or so it would seem I just needed some Wiffy goodness. - L.
