Chapter Twentytwo

It had been nearly three hours since they had left the library, and Willow and Buffy still hadn't accomplished much of anything. They had cuddled and kissed on Buffy's bed for the majority of the time, only stopping when, without either one of them really thinking about it, they began to shed their clothes. Buffy pulled back, and looked at her redhead. "You're so beautiful." She said before she leaned back in and resumed kissing the girl senseless. Suddenly neither girl was wearing their shirts anymore, and the feel of skin on skin, even if it was just their stomachs, was nearly too much for them to resist.

"We have to stop." Willow said, breathing heavily as she pulled further back. Although that may have been what she said, it certainly wasn't what her eyes said as they took in her blonde girlfriend.

Buffy pouted. "Why?"

"Because if we don't, then it wouldn't be whatever perfect evening you had planned for tonight." Willow replied matter of factly.

"Anything with you is perfect." Buffy said before she leaned back in, but she could feel the redhead's resistance at giving in, and pulled back again. Looking towards the beauty she sighed as she saw her resolve face firmly in place. "Fine, spoil my fun." She pouted even more than before as she pulled her shirt on. Willow pulled hers back on as well, and they both stood up.

"Come on, lets go and watch a movie or something." Willow said as she pulled her reluctant girlfriend towards the door, and down the stairs.

They sat on the couch, and snuggled as they watched rugrats for no apparent reason. Buffy seemed to have gotten a little bit too comfortable, as she quickly dropped off into sleepy time land. Willow studied her face for several minutes, burning the image of the sleeping beauty into her brain, before she stood up from the couch. She walked into the kitchen, and pulled out the writing pad that Buffy and her mom used to write notes back and forth when the other was busy, or not at home, and, snagging a pen, she began to write a short note.

"Buffy-
Went to the store to get something. Be back soon.
Love- W. xoxo"

She put the note on the coffee table where the slayer was sure to see it if she woke up before the redhead returned, and she walked out of the house, and into the bright light. For some reason the day had seemed much longer than it really had been, and it was acutally only four in the afternoon. She sighed as she began her short walk to the store just a few blocks down, never noticing the girl that seemed to be following her every move.

Courtney watched the redhead as she left the Summers residence, then tailed her to the local convience store.
'
What are you doing?' the Eliza part of her asked.

'I have to make sure she's okay.' Courtney answered back, choosing to ignore the raised eyebrow she could feel coming from the memory half of her mate.

Willow smiled a huge goofy smile, and was purchasing roses when Xander tapped her on the shoulder.

"Hey." She said once she realized who it was.

"So, we're all Bronzin tonight? After patrol and everything, right?" He asked, a hopeful tug in his voice. He had to admit, if only to himself, that he did have a slight ulterior motive for asking. Well, two actually. One being his missed his best friends. Two being he missed his best blonde friends assests.

"Uhm, sure. What time do you think you'll be there? Because we weren't planning on staying too late." She said quickly.

"Oh, I dunno, probably finish up with patrol around one, but we're not starting 'till eleven, so we'll probably swing by somewhere near nine thirty ish." he said as he glanced at his cartoon watch.

Willow supressed a giggle as she watched her childhood friend consult the cartoon so seriously. "Okay, well, we should see you there." She answered him as she paid for her purchases. "Alright, well, see ya." She waved goodbye and was back on the street. She was home before five and wasn't at all surprised to see that Buffy had yet to get up. She went and sat down on the couch, snuggling with her sweetheart, and for a few brief moments of consciousness, all was right in the world of Buffy and Willow.

Buffy rubbed her eyes as she slowly regained consciousness, and made a failed attempt to strech. Failed because something, vaugly warm and smelling of the same strawberry shampoo Will smelt of, was blocking much movement of her upper torso.

She smiled as her eyes fluttered open to take in the sight before her.

Willow was passed out, and on the coffee table, a note. Buffy read it, then looked around, only to find a vase of a dozen red roses sitting on the coffee table as well. She picked up the inscribed note, and began to read:

"To the woman I love,
I just wanted you to know, how special you are to me too. Tonight will be perfect, I promise. I love you with all my heart, Love, now and forever, Willow."

Buffy made something resembling an "awww" sound before she leaned over and kissed her girlfriend. Willow kissed back, even in her sleep, until she too regained consciousness.

"You know," Buffy said, pulling back to look at the redhead. "I never knew anyone could be as sweet as you." She kissed the redhead, and then pulled back again. "Hey, that rhymed!" She said as if she was surprised. Willow laughed and puller her back in for one final kiss before standing up.

She glanced at the clock on the VCR, "Oh man, we've gotta start getting ready now, otherwise we'll never make it on time." Willow said as she turned and started towards the stairs. Suddenly, her direction was reversed as she went back to Buffy, kissed her firmly on the lips, and then grabbed her hands. "C'mon, I'll let you dress me if you're extra good." Willow said as she lead the way up the stairs.

A/N:Sorry guys, this is sappy, just feeling in a sappy mood. Oh, btw, not that you need to know this but still, I got a puppy the other day, and decided on a name today. Willow. :D Happy readings, and thanks for the reviews. - L.
