Waking up

by Lost

Reactions, Omissions, and Truth

[reviews]

Willow sighed. She had kissed Buffy. The one person in the world, who, for the last two weeks straight she had been thinking about nonstop. And she had done it. She sighed again as she read through her homework. She had...well, basically twenty minutes to get to school, and she had yet to actually do any of her homework for the weekend. That always seemed to happen to her when she was upset. She would let her emotions play havoc on her work ethic, and thus, no homework would be finished.

She leaned down, and let herself fall into the book. Her world had, since friday, been turned upside down. First there was the fact that she felt so horrible she wanted to do nothing but curl up into a little ball and let the world pass her by. Then there was her anger towards Angel. She more than loathed the football player. In her mind when she thought of him, all she got was a deep sense of hatred, and if she dwelled upon her earlier memories with him, then a brief sense of nastalgia. But, pushing all thoughts of the football player aside, she concentrated on her chemistry work.

Buffy woke up slowly, at first nothing seemed out of the ordinary, then she remembered the kiss. She and Willow had kissed, and ... now she didn't know what to do. Willow was her best friend. Had been for nearly two years, and yet. She no longer knew how to act around the redhead. Or her boyfriend for that matter. In one minute, one moment, her life seemed to suddenly spiral out of control. Suddenly none of her relationships could be taken at face value. She had loved Willow, as a friend, and Angel as more than a friend, but now...now the true question was, what did she feel for them both now? She sighed in frustration as she began to get ready for school. Glancing at the clock she saw she had exactly twenty minutes before the first bell rang signaling the ten minute passing period.

Angel smiled as he readied himself for school. Today was just another bright day in his mind, just one more day, so that he could get just one step closer to deflowering Buffy. Truthfully that had been his goal from the begining of the relationship, although she had halted his plans one step short many many times. For some reason the blonde had yet to actually give it up, and give into her more passionate side, as Angel liked to think of it. He had two more weeks left before his bet would be up, and he'd have to pay if she wasn't his by then. But he didn't sweat it, he knew she was good and ready, all he needed was the perfect time. A time when she wasn't busy worrying about the redhead, that is.

Arriving at school, Willow smiled as she saw Xander. "Hey Willster, what's up?" He asked as he casually slung his arm around the redhead. He had known she was gay as soon as she did, mostly because she came out to him first. He was also the only person who, as of friday, knew about Willow's yearning for the blonde. A yearning which he was more than happy to share.

"Uhm... not alot. IkissedBuffy." She ran the words together and dipped her head down, so that he wouldn't see her blush as it crept up her whole face quickly. He pulled his arm away before he held both her arms by her side then made sure she could see him before he began talking.

"You did? Way to go Willow! Score one for our side!" he said triumphantly as he pumped his fist into the air. He looked at her again, before asking quietly. "So, how'd she take it?"

Angel smiled happily as the blonde came up and gave him an enthusiastic greeting. Not one they usually used when they ran into eachother, especially at school, but he was more than willing to comply. "Morning." He said as she pulled back, a smile plastered onto his face almost from ear to ear.

"Morning." She said distractidly. She was somewhere else, and he could tell.

Buffy walked determinedly up to Angel and planted as passionate of a kiss as she could muster, waiting for a feeling in her gut to tell her what to do.

"Morning." Angel had said brightly, but all she could do was think, and compare.

"Morning." She had responded, and she knew he would be able to tell she was distracted, but she just couldnt bring herself to care.

"What's up with you?" He asked as he took her hand and they began to walk down the hall, passing students who were gathered before class.

She glanced at his face for a minute, then around the hallway, and then, quickly, let go of his hand. "Listen, Angel...I ...Well, we need to talk."

All four students were gathered in their first period of the day, Chemistry, and all four looked more than just a little bit glum. However, Willow looked the most depressed of any of them. That is, until she caught a note that got slid across the table to her from Buffy. She took it, and looked at the blonde for any sign that it would be a positive note, but didn't even get a glance from the blonde as she stared at the chalk board.

A/n: Okay, let me know what you think...cause well yeah, feedback is good. If you guys want I can end it here, or keep it goin - L.
